Thank you. My details are :
    Interview date: 8/2/18
Same day rececived DS5535 for my husband.
Remedical and other docs mail received on 11/4/19.
We send all things on 11/5/19.
Finger print and oath mail received on 23/5/19 scheduled on 29/5/19.
No intetview VO said today we will take only finger print and oath. They do not want anything from us. No DS 5535. She gave us 221g marked with additional administrative processing.  She also said it will not take much time as soon as your visa will be ready we will inform you.
There was only one thing that my husband take back.his passport for some amendment. We told them. On finger print time they also take back my husband's passport.
    Once again thank you

It really depends on the embassy.  Some embassies do not keep the passport during long AP but will request when needed.  If you interviewed in Islamabad however it would be a bad sign if they didn't keep it.    Germany I'm not sure.  I would read others stories (who have interviewed in the same embassy and have also been put in AP) to see if keeping the passport is a trend there.

First thank you so much to everyone here. You are all ma sha allah amazing and supportive people. Thank you for your duas and kind words. They are definitely not wasted.

My fiance and I were really upstet but we are calm and our hearts are at peace. I verified our situation through my senator. Anyone who is stuck in the process or may become stuck and read this, i just want you to know don't lose hope, this is a small hurdle that we will get over. There is a reason behind this denial maybe to save us from a bigger catastrophe down the line concerning adjustment of status etc. Plan is to go to pakistan, get married, and apply for cr1. According to them, my fiance doesn't qualify for k1 visa category, i think we might be too married for them because our relationship although very halal still very out of norms of the Pakistani culture. And they just needed a reason since the current administration has established and upheld severe scrutiny laws. I am glad for this reason because Allah will make it easier for us the rest of the journey and i will pray and continue to pray for all of you my brothers and sisters that you are soon reunited with your loved ones and don't have to face what we faced. Dont let the broken US immigration system define and rule your life. Live your life and always always hope for the best. Because i still have hope and still very determined.

Remember me in your prayers. ❤❤❤

You know who can be even more nosy and rude? USCIS! Your friend doesn't need to make things complicated for herself later. As others pointed out this can cause big problems later on.

I think reaching out to democrats who are running in primaries are also a great way to find some support because they need your vote especially if you are a registered as Democrat

Not really the place for  a political discussion but....I don't believe that Republican or Democrat would change what is going on at the moment.   Cases were stuck in long AP in 2014 during Obama (a democrat).

I myself am a registered Republican and this whole immigration H E double hockey sticks has not swayed my political party at all.

I may not fully agree with Trump and his antics but he is for now our God appointed leader so out of respect I do my best to support him.

I am so sorry you feel that way because I know how it feels!

My husband is the USC and has no idea what it is like to adjust to a country and often we do it all so effortlessly. Having said that... above there is a comment by someone else about how this could happen to you in Australia being married to an Australian husband as well.

I believe this is a host of factors coming together: One, you left your comfort zone and while exciting initially, it does kind of wear off a little. Secondly, when a baby is born, many of us start feeling closer to your birth family as there is a sense of familiarity. Also, giving birth happens to be such a whirlwind experience. The marriage is often different giving birth, intimacy is different, communication changes, the sense of being able to leave everything behind and start over new back home is definitely never going to be a real option again (even though you may not want to exercise that option ever).

My first now ex-husband and I never managed to integrate children into our relationship and we ultimately got divorced because we never managed to transition from being a no-kids-double-income to a kids-double-income-equitable-share-in-duties couple. I felt so lonely and had wanted to move back to my family. And that happened in the same country.

I guess what I am trying to say is - perhaps it is not necessarily just homesickness but also a sense of loneliness in your marriage? Or a lack of communication?

You could been in the same situation with an Australian husband who lived in a
rural run down area. With bad weather.

So so this isn’t an America vs Australia thing.  This is you vs your marriage decision thing.

You are miserable.  And it is in your power to fix it, whether you continue your marriage with your husband or not.   It can be fixed without moving ten thousand miles.

My senator always gets a response in about a day.   It takes a week if I inquire.   You've been waiting a long time I would see about getting the petitioner to contact the senator in your area.  I have seen where they stop answering inquiries but will answer the senator.  I don't know if it means anything is wrong or they just give up on answering after so many inquires.

I would not wish AP on my worst enemy...(well maybe my worst by not any normal enemy).
