InquimmwFraserYo got a reaction from Dapplegrim in Palestinian involved in Politics - any effect on visa
I am Palestinian who applied for a K-1 with my, then, American fiancee, now wife.

My post was Jerusalem, and I had absolutely no problems at all and no delays in my process. My interview was easy and smooth, and my visa was in hand not 8 days after the interview. And the first step of submitting the I-129F was smooth as well,  it was approved in less than 90 days. I was at POE after 5 months of us starting the whole K-1 process.

Got my Green Card in mail today!

Weird thing is that USCIS website is still stuck on "Card was mailed to me", and I never got my tracking number. i thought I'll wait few more days until I get it, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless.

This is taking for f'ing everrrrrrrr.  Like what in the hell is someone supposed to do for a year- unable to work, drive, visit home......nothing.  Incredible.  We have spent too much money on this mierda for it to be like this.

We've been following this website for 2 years and it has been AMAZINGLY helpful. We started our K1 process in Oct 2018.  Partner came in Sept 2019 to the USA and we got married and submitted our AOS packet in Oct 2019.  We had our Green card interview yesterday (2/18/2020) in Milwaukee and status changed to "card being produced" today🙌🏾.
During the interview the officer asked how we met, where we were from and asked for our  Passports and Drivers Licenses, and proof of marital relationship. We gave a copy of our lease, insurance, cell phone account info, and beneficiary documents as proof.  The interview wasn't difficult but when so much rides on it, it's hard not to be nervous.  Thanks again for all of the helpful folks contributing to this site....now to figure out how to file taxes as a married person with foreign income and a few other issues😬.  Best of Luck to everyone else on this journey!

Detroit Field Office. Had my interview today. Here's my timeline.

    Application Received on Oct 21st.
    NOA1 on Dated Oct 30th.
    Biometrics on Nov 19th.
    Interview on Feb 13th, today.

Interview went smoothly. Took 10 mins. IO was the sweetest lady. Most questions were the security questions at the end of i485 if im a terrorist lol. Rest were basic ones about how we met, the info we submitted in i485, and what we had as evidence of bona fide marriage. We had lease, joint bank statements, joint credit cards and pictures, IO didn't even care to look at the pictures. We were approved on the spot, and 4 hours after interview status changed into "New card is being produced".

Overall experience was very smooth and easy and pleasant. Good luck to you all in your journeys.

From the VisaJourney timelines, Detroit field office seems one of the faster ones. Most people got their interview 3-4 months from their NOA date. Hopefully this is the case for us!

I'm not sure if this was discussed here before or not, but why the frick can't I search words or phrases in a specific thread? It always has to be site-wide and it's very annoying, and you get very irrelevant content most of the time, and it takes you ages to find what you're lookig for.

Can we have a search tool for threads?

Can you answer why your own VJ ads have such content in them? And have for years? One thread was just posting the ads that populate from VJ.
So, I innocently come here to help people, to make your site work, and I get bombarded with ads for mail order brides and phone sex hotlines...
And you blame it on us? With no apology or mea culpa on your part?

Once you have filed for AOS & have NOA1 from USCIS that is your proof of legal presence in Michigan. They then verify through SAVE. The Secretary of State Office cover themselves by saying it could take up to however many months (I think they quoted 3 months to me). In actuality it took 10 days.
Documents I took to SOS Office - passport, birth certificate, social security number card, NOA1 letter from USCIS, marriage certificate, spouse's ID.

As far as I know, your medical exam is still acceptable because it was less than 1 year old when you submitted your AOS petition. So I'd say, no you do not need a new medical exam. But wait for other consultation from other members just to be sure.
