We've got another interview appt. to try again, on Friday, July 6th. My fiance has the letter from me and all "additional" evidence we could muster. Here's to hoping this time we'll have success!

 <---Ken already table surfing to celebrate your approval (it's coming)!!! Keep us posted!

Hehe thanks! He's leaving for London in a few hours. Thank God he's going down a day early with all the ####### going on in the UK... We're hoping the security isnt TOO bad tomorrow, but I'll let you know. As long as he gets approved, he can wait in line for hours :) 2 other UKers are interviewing tomorrow, anyone else from Feb interviewing as well?

    GOOD LUCK!

  6. Good moring to all.

Our journey is almost complete. Well the most importan part (being together). I know AOS is another journey in itself. Tomorrow I will be flying down south to Colombia. Will be preparing and reviewing all of our documents for the 100th time. Our interview is next Thursday. I ask that you guys send us good vibes and support like you have given me since day 1 on this site.

    Thank you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good luck!

No visa...it seems the consul was not convinced of the authenticity of our relationship. He said we look "posed" in our photos. Huh? I'm waiting for him to fax/e-mail me the 221g letter they gave him. He was told that I am to write a letter explaining our relationship and if I understand my fiance correctly (he's a little upset right now) I am to explain "what I'm capable of" should his visa be denied? What does that mean?

They did ask him, why I had not been back to visit him, since I retuned to the states in January. He explained that my job was "deadline" oriented and I am not able to take time off work. So he was told for me to explain all this in the letter I am to write to the consulate. In my original "how we met" statement, I stated that both he and I are from the same town, because that is where his parents live and that is where my grandmother lives. At the interview, they stated that they're not convinced of the merits of our relationship....that maybe our respective families "arranged" this? #######? They did not look at any of the other evidence(the detailed phone logs of our 3-4 hour long conversations dayli w/out fail, the e-mails)....said he should bring all that back when he brings my letter, and they will look at it then.

I don't understand...what's the use of providing evidence of ongoing relationship, if they don't look at it?

They also asked him, why he did not try for a tourist visa first, why this visa? My fiance told them that we decided that we wanted to get married and decided to go this route instead of trying to get him a tourist visa. Catch 22, if he had somehow been able to secure a tourist visa, and come here....we had gotten married then there would have been issues at AOS. That is what the K1 is for....to come here and marry your fiancee, that is not what a tourist visa is for.

We did have a whirlwind "courtship" if you will....and we do have an age difference, none of which matter to us, but it seems these are the sticking points w/ them. I'm starting to think of what to write in this letter....any advice on how to word this, how to phrase things. I have no idea how to proceed. Help :help:

I'm going to post this in a separate thread also....at this point I need all the suggestions anyone can come up w/.

    -P

Those jerks! You'll get your visa, don't worry. Overwhelm them with evidence!

Mary and I have 16 years between us and she got her visa. They just need to be sure your relationship is for real. They asked us about the tourist visa, also. We believed it was a trick question. Mary simply replied that we intended to get married and she felt that marrying me upon entry with her tourist visa would be illegal!

I would print every chat session, copy every reciept, copy every phone bill, etc. Get letters from family members (notarized). It sounds like they (immigration) need proof, so start gathering everything you can and overwhelm those bastards with proof!

Don't give up, get that visa! You are so close!

  8. I just called the Department of State, and found out that our interview is on August 23rd. Seryozha hasn't yet received the packet 3 from them yet, but since at Moscow you don't send anything in advance we just have the 2 months before the interview to prepare all our papers! Wow, I am very excited right now! The funniest thing is that, two months ago, I already bought a ticket for the 24th, now I am gonna try and see if I can get there on the 22nd, since I had NO idea when we would get out of NVC even...

Congrats Milenka! Way to go!:dance:

Nagi, honey this 'delay' is so not fair!! Makes me very  . Is there nothing to do at this point? Contacting a congressman, senator is not an option at this point? I'm hoping for a resolution of this limbo very quickly. :star:(F):star: You so deserve it!!!!

    -P

    Paula,

Actually I did contact a congressperson who did an inquiry that was useless. She was told the same thing I am being told, our case is still at NVC and could give no answer as to why the hold up or when we will be out of AP/ AR.

Don't sit back and accept that answer. Write letters, call again and again, contact any politician who will listen. Politely demand action and answers. Be a squeaky wheel! Channel those emotions into action and more action. C'mon Nagi, go get that visa!!!!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  10. jlvr, thanks :) Everything went well, thank God, visa was approved, tomorrow I am supposed to pick up the passports with our visa in (mine and my daugther's).

Tomorrow? Wow? We have to wait anywhere from a week (what they told him) to a month (what it seems people are waiting).

Mary got hers the next day. She showed it to me last night on the webcam. Each embassy is so different. But at least you know it is coming

  11. Any interviews scheduled within the next few weeks?

I need help!!! Our interview is in about 15 days or so. However now i'm in panic mode, anxiety. We have everything we need....but i'm still nervous. How do you guys cope with this?? I dont want to drink my nerves down....but wont rule that out ;)

Quaaludes used to work wonders, but I don't think you can get those anymore.

Relax!!!! They don't expect you to know everything. Just rehearse a little and you'll be fine....

  12. Vita will be on her way to the embassy shortly. I have to wait nervously by the phone to find out if she has been approved. I'm pretty confident she will be, but its still out of my hands.

I look forward to reading your "We Got Approved!!!" message :)

    We Got Approved!!! :P

Just got the call, everything is good, Vita will be able to get her passport with the visa in it next Tuesday.

    YES!!!! Congrats!
