Do they own their property and house? That is a biggie. If so their chances are not bad, but it's always challenging getting a tourist visa in PH despite what others are saying. Best of luck and keep us posted.

They own a large 20 hectares farm where he harvest wood for his furniture business. He also owns the land and building where he builds it. They both own the home they are in too. So three properties.

Their son? Is this kid related to you or your parents by any chance? Kid of sister/aunt/uncle etc?

It's not their biological son. Like I said at birth the child was given up by the original parents. They didn't want it. This is something I found about when I married my wife. The kid isn't related in anyway to their family, but just being raised, so I said if you're going to one day immigrate and you want to take your son you're going to have to properly adopt him. Which they got a lawyer and are on the court process of making it official. The original parents are cooperating and I think they already got all the testimony and it's like on the final stretch of that ordeal, and he will officially be adopted. He's 8 years old. I mean they got a good life over there so I don't know if they can handle american life, so we just want to hopefully get a multiple entry visa for the maximum at their discretion so they can visit us. As much as we like to visit yearly now that we have a daughter of our own, it's economically challenging 2 year old with their own airline seat. Hoping they can visit every other year and vis versa

Seems the Parents have a good chance based on what you have said.

Not sure what the adoption has to do with anything.

Figured it might be a reason under the strong ties to the Philippines. They definitely wouldn't leave him behind despite I know plenty of parents abandon their kids for many reason up to being good for the child since they provide afar.

I'll just have them make sure they bring their proof of employment, and business along with like 3 months of statements just incase. I know it doesn't ask to bring anything other than the documents requested. I am sure they got their sources to vet visa applicants.

  3. I am looking for insights into what others have experienced with the tourist visa interview for their family members. They got a few more weeks till their interview, but just seeing if I am missing anything. MIL works for the area gov't in her province and FIL has his own business. So they are pretty much like middle class in PH standards. They are also in the process of also doing a proper adoption of their son which they have informally adopted since the original mother and father abandoned the child at birth. They are a year in that process.

Combo interviews are for 751s AND naturalization, and they cannot be waived.

I'm telling you what she said. I didn't even go in. I showed her we paid our taxes in the waiting room. I stayed with my daughter out there. That was the only thing she wanted to know. No questions were asked of other than Was the 2020 taxes paid? I pulled out the phone and logged on to irs.gov and showed the 0 balance.

I know the rules and law. but if you look around nothing is consistent

  5. When I went to the combo interview for my wife. The lady only had one question for me since she saw that I submitted our taxes jointly. She wanted to know if I paid my 2020 taxes as we got a paper audit that wanted us to pay an extreme amount but I appealed it took 18 months of back and forth to resolve.

If I didn't have that issue she said she would have waived the interview for me since I had solid relationship evidence she enjoyed our photos with our child in various national parks.

@JMPM when is she scheduled to return to the US?

She's scheduled for May 19 to fly back. Thank you. She sent a letter via email that I mailed on her behalf. Let's see if they accept it and reschedule or it gets rescheduled on its own. I appreciate it

@Mike thanks we can breathe a sigh of relief the customer service phone reps wasn't a big help. Despite the letter saying to call.

  7. I knew this was going to happen. I told my wife to do the same day oath and we would get a urgent travel passport.

But she took the advice of the interview officer after our combo interview. I wasn't there to interject.

I'm currently at home with a broken leg. I just noticed that USCIS sent a notice through the mail. So I logged into her account and I saw that they scheduled her interview for May 9th.

The USCIS officer I guess didn't schedule the date correctly. Or didn't do as promised. Who knows.

Now I can't reach my wife as she's in middle of nowhere Philippines. I'm not sure how to solve this issue.

Is it possible for her to miss the oath. Then reschedule afterwards?

I have my interview next week and I was hoping to have the same day oath ceremony. But what I am understanding from your post is that if the I-751 documents has not been transferred to the Denver office, then we cannot do the same day oath. Is that correct?

Yea pretty much then they got it on the same Friday and approved everything. Now we wait till my wife comes back and she will get am interview after June 1 since the lady said she will schedule what they call a "administrative oath"

Sorry I haven't updated anything. Broke my leg in a car Accident

So that's got to be good news right? Seeing as the time is an estimate only.

Yea for sure but psychologically it was terror lol. We are excited she's going to hit those flash cards hard now even though she's pretty on point averaging 98-97/100 correct. So she should have no issues answering the first 6 questions off the bat.

    @Talo was it closed?

Hi all, I have my interview in Centennial on Feb 15th! Super excited about it. Will update everyone after it's done.

I would like to do the same day oath if possible, but I have an international trip on March 22 (so exactly 5 weeks from the interview).

Do you think that this would be enough to get my passport? Or should I reject the same oath and ask for it to be scheduled after the trip?

Just looked at the travel state and it looks like there is an expedited option up to 5 weeks. Not sure if it would be cutting it too short.

    Thanks!

I think you can get it faster. If you can show travel within 14 days.

Hey also when did you file your N400? There's no much data on Denver seems like no one fills out their timeline :(

    Hi,

I have my combo interview in 15 days (i751/N-400) and I am wondering if they are doing same day ceremony in Centennial CO - USCIS office?

My interview will be right at noon.

Hi. The last one to fill things out here did have a same day oath. I'm sure it's based on the time your appointment is.

Can you fill out your n400 timeline? It will help others see how fast Denver is moving.

    Here's your timeline:

Hello! Yes we are not vaccinated so we still need to take antigen test before flying just so we don’t have to do it upon arrival.

I figured. I'm on the same boat but flying into Cebu they do the test for free on the spot but it has to be a direct flight there. We are aiming for April May for our trip who knows they'll probably drop the requirements by then hopefully

    Hi everyone,

My wife appeared for her naturalization interview today at 9am at the USCIS Denver (Centennial) office. She passed her interview, took the oath and received the certificate as well.

At the entrance, the security guards were pleasant and welcomed her in. There is an information window to go to after that where you check-in. They (attendant was friendly) told her to go to 2nd floor after checking in and wait to be called. She waited about 10 minutes before she was called in by the Immigration Officer (the officer did not introduce herself but was professional and nice). Interview started with IO verifying current address, phone numbers etc. to match with information on the database. She also verified if there are any outstanding traffic violations that she has or have any interactions with the Police since the application was processed (No on both accounts in this case). Proceeded to ask 6 questions (name a war during the 1800s, which party does the current president belong to, name 2 US national holidays etc.- all from the 100 Civics questions that USCIS provided). Upon answering correctly, dictated a sentence to be written on tablet. Finally narrated the oath of allegiance and provided the naturalization certificate along with a few informational booklets and US Passport application. The whole interview process (from IO calling her name to getting the certificate) took about 20 minutes.

The facility is conveniently located and the large parking lot is easy to navigate. There were about 3 or 4 other applicants present at the time (not sure for which process specifically).

Good luck to everyone here and anyone else going through this process. It's long and arduous but quite rewarding!

    Thanks for the Denver update.
