2019&beyond got a reaction from kaylov in Is POE still accepting K1 Visas entries?
    Hi guys,

I am finally in NYC with my love. So to answer my original question, yes they are still accepting K1 travelers. However, I wouldn’t keep waiting if you are on a K1 and want to travel to the US because you never know what might happen tomorrow.

JFK airport was super empty. And I literally spent no longer than 15 minutes at POE. The customs officials were super friendly and professional, but I was a bit surprised that I didn’t get screened for the virus or get my temperature checked. Because in Kuwait they took my temperature before I entered the airport to make sure I can get on the flight.

Anyway, regardless of the pandemic, people here seemed unphased by it, and it’s good to be in the good ol’ U S of A.

PS: The embassy was the one who coordinated the flight with Kuwait Airways to JFK. I didn’t book online. I had to wait for Kuwait Airways to contact me after they received my information from the embassy. It wasn’t a flight that was available online.

    Evening All!

Forgive me if this is in the wrong section. If it is could someone kindly move it to the right one? Thanks!

I would like to go ahead and give some background on my immigration process thus far: I moved to New York on June 14th via K1 visa. Got married to my LOVE ❤️ on July 1st (Canada Day! lol), and sent my AOS package along with the EAD and AP on July 9, 2019 to the National Benefits Center. NOA 1 dated July 15, 2019, Bio-metrics was done on August 5, 2019. My field office is Albany, New York.

A few weeks back I was on indeed looking at jobs curious to see if I would find my particular job available in the area that I'm living. I was checking periodically before and never had any luck finding my particular position: Senior Property Accountant. I was worried that I was in a niche career and that I wouldn't be able to find my positions since the area I live in generally doesn't have loads of condominiums/residential buildings which means they have 0 need for Property Management Firms and that I was going to have to settle with choosing a different path for my career once I received the EAD. The thought of downgrading position and work experience was not sitting well with me (even though it was my choice, so I'd have to live with it regardless). Well it happened I found the position I had been hoping I'd find: Senior Property Accountant at a nationally recognized company. So I thought "what the heck, let me apply". After waiting a few days I received an email to come in for an Interview. Well my interview went perfect and even before she did her final interview she sent me a tentative job offer contingent on getting my EAD expedited.

    So here comes the rest:

October 1, 2019 - called USCIS and requested the EAD expedite
October 4, 2019 - received email to send in additional documents
October 9, 2019 - faxed in cover letter from Company describing position and reason for wanting them to expedite the EAD, job offer, job posting from indeed, and a copy of my resume
October 17, 2019 - notification that they received my documents
October 24, 2019 - notification that CARD IS BEING PRODUCED!!!!

I requested the expedite based on financial hardship to the company. But I'll be honest it wasn't extreme urgent need, at least it wasn't explained that way in their cover letter. I was honestly worried that I wasn't going to get it and my only opportunity to work in my same field was going to slip right past me. But it happened, I got lucky, and they approved my EAD expedite. I should receive the card soon! I just can't believe it!

I'm writing this to give others hope that you can do it too, so long as you provide them with what they are looking for. I am living proof that there is no harm in asking, it's a testament to all those out there that it truly never hurts to try. You literally have nothing to lose.

    Okay excited rant over... lol

If you have any questions on the process or anything at all please ask. I'd be more than happy to help!!

If it wasn't for visajourney I wouldn't have been able to make it through this far so this a big THANK YOU to everyone out there on this beautiful forum!

Indeed is super powerful! I don't think you need anything else. What I did:
Create an account. Create a good search query using advance search (with keywords you want, words you don't want, etc). Once you've done that, Indeed will let you do your last search and show new jobs since your last visit. I checked for new jobs every day and applied to a bunch. It took me a while but I just got one!

    Good luck!

Be sure to  double check for the current fees as fees do sometimes increase for the new year, so please check. Additionally check the forms as listed above i.e., current version and or edition date. Consider sending tax transcripts instead of the 1040, and W2's. Also consider preparing a cover letter for each form in addition to the main  cover letter. Hope this helps in your preparation of your AOS. When in doubt ask questions.

You can purchase either....most people just buy the less expensive one.........after you arrive in the US, just cancel the return flight....or book the return far out enough to use it after you receive Advance Parole.

@IsabelleFredrick Yea... if you ever wanted to develop your craft, or talent for something, or practicing whatever skill you're good at that can become lucrative in the future, these 6 months is your chance.

You can use these 6 months to be the best version of yourself. It really depends on your perspective and how you use your time.

Some people see the idea of waiting 6 months and start to crumble, others see it and use it as an opportunity to shine. Rather than pouring their soul on a 9-5.

The struggle may seem real and 6 months may be a long time, but in the grander scheme of things, it's not (in my opinion). It's through that struggle that you can become stronger, and your relationship can become tighter when you overcome that obstacle.

Again, it's all about how you look at it.

It's from ustraveldocs.com Yes, one has to fill & submit DS-160 on ceac.state.gov, print out the confirmation-page after submitting DS-160 there, then create an account on ustraveldocs.com with the same information as on DS-160, & once you pay the fee as per their instructions & validate MRV receipt number, on the next page, you would likely see a page like the one I've posted, where you would be able to book biometrics appointment-date, & on the next page, you'll be able to book the interview-date. You can contact ustraveldocs.com support through the "Provide Feedback" link, if you have any queries.

    Pay is correct.
The consulates routinely extend petition validity for 4-month periods for up to a year.
It's best (and makes you feel better) to send them an e-mail thus requesting.
