Niels Bohr got a reaction from one...two...tree in Stocks Skid, Fear Rises, 2011 Gains Evaporate
That's what we get when we want cuts, no spending, no tax increases. It would be good when the economy is well to that. In a time when it's not so good, it's a different story.

Niels Bohr got a reaction from 웃 in Retooling Labor Costs
We're talking about college grads. New college grads. They will look for the job in their fields for several years before even finding one. In that duration of looking, they will not be as sharp because they haven't use any of their skills in their fields for a long time. Therefore, their skills degrade. Making them difficult to even compete. Eventually, these people will be useless in their fields.
If employers take on entry-level people regularly, no more reason would be said about workers being unqualified for work because they are not competitive. These employers are ever more so wanting to hire more foreigners giving the reason that they are more qualified.

Engineers are not affect by this. They careless what happens to the people as long as they make money.

Niels Bohr got a reaction from Golden Gate in Sperm Collection, anyone?
I was bored, and decided to come up with a cool design. People have adult toys, but, many of the fluids are wasted. Thousands of diploid, half-human creatures goes to waste. So, I made this Sperm Collection device so that you not only can 'feel good', but, contribute to society as well. So, there's no more excuse of saying 'contributing to society doesn't feel good.'

Niels Bohr got a reaction from La Souris in Harvard (illegal alien) student won’t face deportation
Harvard is very selective. They're above political ideology. There's a reason why they don't admit just a plain valedictorian from high school who was a over acheiver. They look for students who not only valedictorians, and overacheivers in high school, but, they also look for students who has the potential to change the world positively with his or her education.
This kid grew up with the adversity of people hating him because he's an illegal, managed to overcome this adversity in an environment where he is constantly being bombarded by people who like to deny him human rights just by the fact he is illegal. Everday growing up, he his family had been bullied constantly. And, his parents worked for low wages. So he has no luxuries like legal immigrants or citizens.
Despite the negativity, he overcame his prejudices against those who bullied his family, received high grades from school. For many kids who grew up in this environment, the chances of them becoming a successful student is very small. Most would drop out.
Harvard looks for people like this for admission. Someone who has a motivational history, perseverance, and aptitude. Not just valedictorians. I will tell you last year, about 700 valedictorians applied to Harvard and rejected.

Sure. Let the parents teach their kids about sex ed. But, by the time the parents teach them, the kid has already reach puberty and begin to alienate themselves from their parents and start to do secret things.

Good for this kid. It shows education is more powerful than fighting about a political issue. Harvard, MIT, YALE, STANFORD, BROWN, CALTECH, etc...ivy league schools will fight for students if those students are far superior than anyone else. Whether he or she is an illegal immigrant or not.
The reality is that people with superior aptitude are graduating faster in China, India, Japan, Isreal than the US. I visited many seminars and talks from IEEE about the issues of acquiring students with high aptitude in academia to maintain US education superiority.
