Captain,
Me wife is here now and has her green card in hand. We are looking to bring her parents here on a Tourist Visa early next year. I have noticed guidelines for K-1, AOS, Adjusting Status, etc. but no guidelines on B-2 Tourist Visas. Is it possible to to start a guideline or a thread for this? It sure would help. Or maybe it is here on VJ and I just missed it.
Thanks,

I am probably totally overly worried but I actually fear that we wont have enough evidence at our interview.
Now my question is what happens if you fail the interview due to a lack of evidence???
Would that be an RFE or a denied with a deportation?
I could not bare to be seperate from my husband ever again.
Well...tell us what evidence you do have. Maybe you don't have anything to worry about.

Hi Everyone,
We went to Memphis for our AOS interview and it went very smooth. Not very many questions at all. He just asked us our names and address, how did we meet, and how many times did I go to Thailand to visit. He took a few bills with both our names on them and I gave him a copy of our joint checking account.
He asked my wife what her SSAN was and she told him just by memory and he was pretty impressed. He asked her when she was planning to work and she told him that she just started her new job yesterday. Again he was impressed. He then told us that she was approved and explained about lifting of conditions in three years and briefly went over the procedures for her to become a citizen in three years. He didn't smile at all, and was all business, but did not give us any problems at all.
So now we will "hang out" and wait for two years for the next process. I would like to thank everyone on VJ for all of your help. The people here on this website have been invaluable. I probally won't post as much as I used to since I am finished for a while, but I will drop by every now and then.
Thanks again everyone.

I got a RFE at interview for the I693 supplement. All my vaccinations were up to date and I had only submitted the DS-3025 worksheet. I just sent it to Dr Arnold and had her copy it over and sent that back to be approved for my card.
You do have to comply with the vaccinations needed for AOS unless medically or religiously unable.
You might get away with not needing the supplement but just prepare for needing it anyway. It depends on your office and interviewer.
Thanks,
Where is Dr. Anorld's address and is he the only Doctor in the U.S. that can do the job? If I send it to Dr. Arnold; how long does it take to get back and can I send just a copy of the DS-3025? I was wandering if there is a Doc here in Memphis that could do the same as Dr. Arnold...??
Thanks,

Hi Guys and Gals,
All we have for Vaccination records for the AOS interview is the DS-3025. This is the same document that we sent in with the AOS package. Will this be good enough for the interview, or are we absolutley required to have the 693? Also, should all her vaccinations be totally up to date before the interview?
Thanks,

Hi everybody ..
I'm in usa for 3 year now .. just moved from San Diego to Kentucky. I have a lot of Thai's friends in SD but rarely find Thai people over here. Anybody out there coming to Kentucky .. I want more Thai friend .. don't want to get too home sick ..
Best wishes
Tuk
You are not alone Tuk...My wife just came from Thailand and we live in Memphis, Tennessee. There are practically no Thai people here in Memphis. Probably the same from Kentucky. So where do you live in Kentucky? You are only one state away from us.
Good luck in you search and quest.

You'll have to wait until you have your visa to ship all that stuff, otherwise they'll charge you additional taxes and duties. Once you have your visa though, you can just bring it with you on the plane, and pay the extra luggage charge. Or ship it via post, with a copy of your visa and I-94 attached so you won't be charged duty and tax.
Hmmmm...my wife didn't have her Visa at the time she shipped her boxes. When you say, "they" will charge you additional taxes and duties, who are you talking about; the USA or the country you are sending it from? Maybe some countries are different, because Sao did not have to pay any taxes and duties, either in Thailand or the USA. And she sent three different boxes three different times...

My wife got an international driver licenses before she left Thailand. It isn't really a license, however what it shows is that you have a valid driver license in the country you are from. I called the state of Tennesse and asked about her driving with the license and no-one and I mean no-one had any answers. But I have read on U..S goverment websites that you can drive for one year using these license. I am sorry but I don't have the URL; but I did read this. So she is driving on her's and I am not too worried about it.
Just think if you are visiting our country and rent a car. You do not have a license for the state you are renting in. An international license is all the rental company requires; or a license for your home country.
I say go ahead and drive with it...

My wife shipped her stuff, (three boxes, all over 20lbs a piece), from Bangkok. She shipped them via the Thailand Post Office. They apparently came by a boat, because it took them 2 to 3 months to get here in Tennesse. Each box cost her around $50.00 USD. It was expensive for a native of Thailand, but they did arrive with no problems.
Good Luck,

The Quote feature is for when (if) you want to quote multiple poster's responses. Click one, then another (Quote) then slide down to the bottom of the screen and click Add Reply. This will then quote both (or all clicked) poster's responses (as you see I've done here). Don't use the Reply button that is next to the Quote button when doing this as it will only reply/quote that person's response...
Clear as mud huh?
I hope this works...

Ok... I read the other post and it helped. Thank you. However, how do I select certain text in a post and put it in a box? I hit quote on both of the above post; but it my original post I highlighted only a few sentences and hit quote. But it quoted my complete text??? What am I doing wrong?
Than-x

I know, I know....I have been a member of VJ for one year now and I still haven't figured out how to use the quote button in a post. The button has a "+" sign in it, but when you press it, it changes to a "-" sign.I would like to know how to quote certain lines only in a when a poster makes an entry, but I still haven't figured out how to do that.
I have hit the button, and highlighted the text I want to quote, but when I post my reply, it doesn't quote what I selected; it quotes everything.
So I have looked for a help topic on this, but nothing is specific enough. Have I missed something? I like the quotes in the boxes and would like to learn how to do it. Would someone mind explaining it to me or pointing me in the right direction?
Thanks everyone,

So would anyone care to make an educated guess what the percentage of name checks that are finished by the time of the interview?
Thanks,

I just finished reading much of this thread as possible. It would be impossible to read it all in one setting. I have to admit this thread is prettttty depressing.
My wife has her AOS interview on 02/12/08 and everything has been going smooth since we filed the AOS in October. Now I am wandering if I will be postion to this thread after the interview.
Does most applicants have to wait for the FBI name check? Are there any that get done by the interview date, or is it just a small percentage of them?? Maybe in certain USCIS sites in certain states? Does anyone feel up to answering any of my questions?
Thanks Guys and Gals,

Hi Everyone,
We recieved Sao's EAD card and AP in the mail the end of this week.
Good luck to everyone that is still waiting! We have her AOS interview on 02/12/08, so I don't even know if she will get the chance to use her EAD card, as we hope she will have her green card soon after.
Take Care and GOOD LUCK,

Since nearly all outstanding filers filed their I-129f's at the CSC and VSC what does everyone think about removing the TSC and NSC from the stats pages(s) and graphs. They are not applicable to the filing process anymore (since July 30th).
Captain,
I am suprised there are no replies so far to your question. Even though I am finished with the K-1 process, I always wondered why TSC and NSC were even in the stats pages; for the same reason you are discussing now. I agree with you 100%; they should be removed, because everyones eventually ends up at CSC or VSC.

I would like to find a high quality calling card. The one that I use now is not very good. I am calling a cell number in Ubon Ratchathani and sometimes the sound is so bad I have to call back. Sometimes I get the all circuits are busy try later message. When Chutima calls me the sound quality is much better so I know that higher quality networks exist. I have vonage and the calls to thailand with vonage are even worse than the calling card and more expensive.
The one I have now I purchased on www.ThaiTel.com. It is called HandyDirect and it says that the network is provided by LSR Telecom, USA.
What calling card do you use?
Are you satisfied with the quality?
Are you satisfied with the cost?

Need help with obtaining Social Security number please
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration

Each Social Security office seems to have their own set of rules set by ignorance of the law. The bottom line is you can get your spouse a SSAN before you get married and of-course after your married. You do not have to wait to adjust status. I wish I had time to look the laws up for you, but I am at work right now.
I got my wife a SSAN before we were married a couple of weeks after she arrived. We just got her green card and now we are going to get the name change completed.
Good Luck
