Hi everyone,

so it’s been about 7 months since my husbands cr1 visa interview in Islamabad. Everything went good with interview and they said we’d receive an email and within 24 hours after interview we received a ds5535 questionnaire, filled and sent back and only got 2-3 updates on status date after that the only update on status is when we inquire. PLEASE give us some hope and positive feedback it’s been so frustrating dealing with this 😩

Hi my husband had his visa interview in April of this year, the embassy kept his passport and our case is in administrative processing after receiving ds5535. It has been 6 months since interview we’ve sent inquiries to the embassy only to be told were in administrative processing well NO ! anyways just fast forwarding a bit my husbands visa will be expiring in April 2020 so what happens in that case? I know we have about 5 months but just say he doenst get the visa even by then what happens?

My husband had his interview 4/9/2019 and within 24 hours we received ds5535 email they kept his passport. Our case is in administrative processing ever since then...our status date changed almost daily for a couple weeks then stopped now the only time it changes is when we send an inquiry...im so annoyed with Islamabad embassy I’ve given up 🥺

We got our interview date 3-4 weeks after documents were approved... good luck 👍🏻 

My husband had his interview April 9th was got questionnaire email within 24 hours our case is in administrative processing, one of my relatives had a similar case and after receiving their ds5535 they were issued a visa almost 3 months after

and all email ,  dating sites ,  facebook,  (all social media)   ID's

and all phone numbers used 

Yup that’s basically what it was

if so,  it can take months or longer and they will keep the passport during this time

asking for the passport back to travel just adds more time to the security process as they will check into any travel he does

I guess..the email just said questionnaire for additional information and once we submitted our case updated daily and then stopped and then I inquired end of April and they updated and then again last week when I sent another email and that’s it.

Hi everyone!

so my husband had his interview at Islamabad embassy 4/9/19, interview went good wasn’t asked too many questions everything was pretty straight forward they wanted to see our pics, and asked how we talk and how often and kept his passport, medical, and passport sized pics. Told him at the end everything is looking good and gave him a paper to register for courier service they did say you will receive an email and that’s it, 24 hours later we received questionnaire email and filled out and sent back. Everyday from that point our case update date changed daily and I emailed end of April and they had said we received your questionnaire and your case is in administrative processing which in a crucial part before issue visa, my case only updates when I send an inquiry and I’m wanting to know others experiences and feedback! Anything will definitely help.

Our status date changes almost everyday or every 2 days but we’re still in administrative processing does that mean anything or any hopes that things are looking good do u think?

Hi no updates on our case, the case status update date changes almost daily but it still says administrative processing. We applied for cr1. At the interview they didn’t not ask my husband for any documents only passport and passport photos and wanted to see our wedding pics and other pics of just us after the wedding. At the time of interview the CO said I am viewing everything online on ceac as I am taking interview so only give me what I ask. They did keep his passport at the end and gave him a paper how to register for courier service.

Anyone know who told it take to get visa after ds5535? My husband has his interview at Islamabad embassy they didn’t ask for much and Interview was very brief and they wanted to see pics of our wedding and of us together. They kept his passport and said everything is good and within 24 hours we received an email for filling out the questionnaire and emailing back. Everyday on ceac our last update changes daily but haven’t heard anything just curious to know about others going through the same issue 

Since the 9th of April our case last updated date changes everyday does that hold any significance? Not sure if that means their looking into things? Any ideas guys

I went for an immigrant  spouse visa today and the consular officer checked all my documents, he said everything looked great but said he was going to send an email and review my file again. He gave me my passport. My  husband lives in the US. Can anybody tell me how long it takes for AP from their experience. He said he was going to send me some questions in the email to answer, so i am thinking it is a DS 5355 Form. Please advise.

Hi, is there any update on u case? My husband had almost the same situation on the 9th we had nothing missing and they kept his passport and told him they’d email him something and they send additional information I guess more commonly known as the ds5535

Not uncommon for Pakistan. It’s the DS-5535, although it may not be labeled as such in all cases. But it’s all the same and is used to run additional background checks.

Oh I see, that kind of makes me feel better. Hopefully it doesn’t take as long as I’ve been reading online its making me so depressed

Hi everyone, 

my husband had his cr1 visa Interview at Islamabad embassy on the 9th of April, they kept his passport and asked basic questions like where I work, when we got married, if we have any children, how we talk and how often etc..at the end the lady told him everything is good and we will email u with what to do next and also she gave him a paper on how to register for courier service. 1-2 days after the interview our case status showed as administrative processing and we received an email to answer questions and email back, it was a questionnaire for the past 15 years of addresses, phone numbers, siblings date of births and names, email addresses and social media and just basic stuff like that. Anyone else go through anything similar?

We received a questionnaire email last night, we just submitted but who knows how long it’ll take ☹️

SOOOOOO 2 days after my husbands interview we received an email just like the lady had told him, it was a questionnaire for additional information. they provided us an email address that we copy and paste and send an email and submit our answers in text form. anyone else go through something similar? I just wish this wait isnt as long as the wait we had to go through to even get our case approved and sent to NVC that felt like a lifetime😢

Hopefully he gets his visa soon, he got no token and no 221 slip either but they did give me a sheet on registering for courier service and the lady told him we will email u for updates on ur passport/visa.

keep checking the status.. it'll soon change from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Non-Immigrant Visa Application".. once you see that, it'll just be a day or few days until it'll say issued. Good luck!!!

Hopefully the visa is issued soon fingers crossed 🤞🏽 and leaving it up to god

I hope so inshAllah! we've been reading online about others who got no token and no 221 slip and they were told everything is ok and "looks good" and then a few days later their AP status changed to issued so we're just praying we dont have a long wait ahead
