We submitted our AOS in April and we are still waiting for an approval. Thao got a temporary 1 year green card stamp in her passport in June because they couldn't tell us why we didn't receive a NOA. After going through for the visa process twice,2 1/2 years, and 11 moths for the 2 year green card, I am not surprised to see a long delay for the AOS. SNAFU!

Yes, you can. The rest is irrelevant. No one sees your medical bills. All that matters is your 1040, W2, and letter from the employer.
I was just reading the I-134 instructions and it only mentions a copy of your last tax return if you are self-employed, other wise you only submit in duplicate, a statement from your bank and employer. I am believer of never having too much evidence but I was curious where info about submitting the 1040 and W2 comes from? I am presently helping someone through the visa process and it has been a few years since I went through this. Thanks!

I booked an infopass 2 months after I sent the ROC application because we hadn't received the NOA. They gave Thao a 1 year temporary green card stamp in her Vietnam passport. 2 days later we received the NOA in the mail. Now I expect to wait 6-8 months for 10 year green card. For the 2 year green card we waited almost a year to receive it. It took 8 months for CSC to tell us that Thao's finger prints from the biomentrics were no good and she would have to retake them. I've learned to be very patient when deling with USCIS.

Sent a facebook request but it didn't offer me a chance to leave a message with it.

Congrats Dave! See, that wasn't so bad was it? I am happy for you both. Let us know if there is some kind of celebration when you return.

I bought a pink shirt just for my wife's interview. Now I wear it to the casino for luck and it works. I won $2000! Good luck!

Congrats!

Received an email from CRIS that card production has been ordered! Finally, it only took 10 months! Now it's time to wait for the GC to come in the mail.

Touched June 2,3 and 4 after I called wondering if the received my response for the RFE that I sent to them May 14. The update says they received my response June 3 and I should expect a decision within 60 days.

We had our interview in May last year. Does that count? Seriously, I can't believe it's been a whole year already. That goes for Dave_Thao, Haonie, and some others I can't recall right this minute.
So much has happened in a year.
Good luck to all you May interviewees!
Happy Pink slip anniversery Melrose and Haonie! Good luck to the May 2009 interviews!

That was a long time. Mai must be too busy with the baby!

We just returned from the local police station to pick up Thao's letter of no criminal record. We had the same problems with her fingerprints being rejected twice. Only it took 8 months for them to send the RFE. The RFE stated in bold that they only needed letters from places she lived in the USA not from Vietnam. I hope this satifies CSC and they give Thao her GC.
Good luck to all

We received the RFE today. The reason for the delay was that Thao's fingerprints were rejected again and they could not complete a background check. We did the finger prints twice in September because the first attempt didn't take. So they waited until now to tell us the second set didn't work either??!!? We have to go to the local police to get a statement that she has a clean record and send it in by June 1. Hopefully this phase of the journey will be over soon.
Thanks to everyone!

Dave

Jack,
We got our pink slip May 9 and were told to come back on May 16 to pick up the Visa. When we got there on May 16 on our way to Da Lat,they said they could not issue the visa until we were cleard by DOS because of our earlier denial on our first petition. We had to wait for the consulate to call us. We finally got the visa on May 28, the day before I was scheduled to leave Vietnam. I know what you are going through. You already waited a long time and now you have to wait some more and when it is time to go pick up the visa , you will wait outside wondering what other thing can go wrong. Go to the bar across the street from the consulate and order a stiff shot. It helps. Good Luck!

Congrats Kevin! I wish you guys the best of luck fighting this!

Just received an email the our case got RFE'd. I won't know what they want until I get the letter in the mail. I wonder why it took so damn long to give us an RFE?
Bollocks

On the plus side you obviously came to the top of the pile so if you return it quickly, you shouldn't have to wait much longer... Hopefully it's for something nice and simple to deal with

Thanks Jeremy for putting a positive spin on the situation!
