Congratulations!

affidavits are not the most viable evidence so you should be fine with one. If you can get two it's better because i think the form asks for at least 2 of them.

Got Biometrics apointment letter dated 11/20/09 and the Biometrics date is for 12/18/09. Thanks!

I didn't send copies of the passport. Just copies of the Greencard front and back.

Gobble Gobble ... Happy Turkey Day!

I sent like 10 of them all notarized, but I am a freak of nature and would rather have anything possible to provide them so they can't deny me. I feel like taking an extra step is worth keeping my sweet sexy hot Aussie man...One small step for man... One giant leap for mankinid!

These things get printed and mailed at various different times and some people do their jobs a hell of a lot faster than others. All of these messages are positive so I would not worry about them "taking anything back" obviously you have enough evidence in your petition for them to order the production of the card on your case.
The biggest thing you should worry about other than burning your turkey is if they spell your name wrong or put the incorrect information on your greencard. So when you do get it, cheack it very carefully. Make sure the A# is right and everything is spelled right, etc...
Stop worrying and don't forget to cook the bread rolls like I always do. Happy Turkey Day!

If you file for divorce, you have to prove you entered the marriage in "good faith" and provide documents that prove you were "merging your lives" this means utility bills in both your names, lease and/or rental agreement in both your names, etc...
If you are not divorced, then you need to initiate divorce proceedings in order to adjust status. You can submit your I-751 without the divorce decree, but you will still get the RFE for it at a later time and you STILL even then have to prove you entered the marriage in "good faith"
USCIS understands that marriages do not always work out, but they will not take your word over paperwork. You have to have documents that support you in this.

You can get re-married after your divorce is final and you have your divorce decree. However, it could pose questions to the immigration officer if you marry so suddenly after you have divorced or if you married someone else who was brought here on a marriage based visa.

OMG this is like my first visit to Australia Re-lived.
I am from Colorado. It was a massive snow storm when I flew out to LAX. The plane was delayed so it could be de-iced. I missed my transfer flight directly to Melbourne. When I got there they put me on a flight to Sydney. Now before this I had never been on a plane longer than a half hour to Kansas so when they put me on a flight to Sydney (which I had to run to the gate because I had 11 minutes till take off) I had 14 hours to stew in the fact that I was going to the wrong part of the continent in a place i have never been and my wonderful man was not going to be there to save me. Not to mention I got my monthly visitor on the plane 2 days early and had nothing because it was all in my checked luggage. When I arrived in Sydnay the customs lines were so long that I stood in line crying. I had gone to find my luggage and it was not there. I tried to file a claim and missed 4 flights to Melbourne to get it resolved. They never could find my luggage at that point and the lady from the customs area saw me crying my eyes out and she came up to me and took my ticket. She did some research on her computer thing and let me through 9she felt sorry for me lol)
Finally I arrived in melbourne and I saw my baby. I was only 7 hours late, but he was still there waiting for me. He knew I got on the plane in Colorado and he couldn't get any information from the help desk because that information is based on passenger privacy. Finally some guy at Quantas felt sorry for him and told him I was in Sydney so he waited.
When I got to Melbourne I still had no luggage and I needed a shower and a store so I could get "essentials" my wonderful Loke was so understanding and so wonderful.
Even though it went the way it went....I would fly that trip a thousand more times if it meant that I could spend the rest of my life with him.
Thanks for reading my story and thanks for sharing yours. It made me smile knowing that even though your flight sucked.... you will find a moment to look back on it and remember the value of it.
Cheers Aussie Mate Oi Oi Oi !!!

It does not have to be notarized, but we had all ours done because we had a lot of time and it was a simple extra step to make it more official. If you don't have time for it, then you don't need to do it.

Damn ... ok I feel oficially stupid, but still... yeah no there is no excuse for it lol. Thanks guys!

Even though I have my NOA1 I still can't check my case status online and I tried just now. Has anyone else had the same problem or am I not being patient enough?

For Susan73, yes. they haven't got NOA. (someone help them about it!)
For RocnKimcollabo, they got NOA and I just needed to know receipt date. (let me know!)

Listen to pushbrk he is telling you what you need to know. The visa's are not processed the same. they are processed separately. The K3 visa is not always faster than the CR1 in these times. Back when I filed it made about a month difference in time. Now they are running at about the same process time wise. Your I-30 is still there and still may very well be approved before you know it. You can switch to the CR1 and null the K3 and I think that's what you have done. That's ok because the CR1 is a better visa. Be patient.

HI! I hope you have a wonderful fast journey and that it goes smooth *hugs*

Look at my timeline in my signature. They received mine the 9th and the check did not get cashed till the 12th so you're fine. Give them a couple days to process.

Welcome to Visa Journey. There is a ton of information here that can help educate you to do immigration without the need for a lawyer. You will find that it is a huge source of knowledge regarding the subject and there are so many people here that are helpful and kind. Good luck on your upcoming journey and may it be smooth and flawless for you.

This goes to show that understanding the process that you are going through is beneficial to you. No one is going to care about your immigration like you will. Attorneys are not always looking out for your better interests. You are most likely going to need an attorney at this point nevertheless.
