JOOK. reacted to cosmonauts in What is "valid for work only with DHS authorization"?
Once you have your green card, make sure you go to the SSN office to update your SSN card to an unrestricted one. The unrestricted card won't have that message anymore.

If you have never opened any accounts with your social security number, then you would not have a reportable credit history associated with that number. Give it a few months after you open some financial or utilities accounts.

"Valid for work with DHS authorization" means you have to have an EAD or green card in order to legally work.
Have you opened any accounts using your social security number? You would only have a credit history if you have a history of accounts associated with your social security number.

JOOK. got a reaction from Zach2015 in COMBO CARD IS WELL RECEIVED!!
My combo card is approved! I received it last week by mail !!!!!!!
I appreciate everyone who gave me answers to my questions here. I'll also try to answer many questions as much as I can.
Thank you all!!!
P.S. Also, I-485 is "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"
-
JOOK. reacted to HRQX in How long does it take to get approved for I-131?
I assume you submitted I-131 together with I-765:
If they are adjudicated and approved together then it will be a combo card:
Like @geowrian mentioned in the other thread, if the I-485 is approved first then I-131 and I-765 won't be adjudicated since the Green Card is sufficient.

JOOK. reacted to DaveAndAnastasia in My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview BUT
It's not uncommon to get your EAD/AP combo card after your interview was scheduled (but before your interview) these days; that's what happened for my wife.

JOOK. reacted to Sellamalola in My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview BUT
You’re welcome 😊 it’s called last in first out, a practice that is supposed to help the backlog and just available to 2019 filers 💁🏽♀️ I waited 180 days for my ead and 18 months for my interview and gc 😅 so you’re good so far 👍🏽🍀

Oh wow!! Thank you so much for the info. Now I am so happy to hear that!! 😆💓💓💓💓 Thank you again!!! ☺️

JOOK. reacted to Sellamalola in My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview BUT
If you filed your aos in 2019 is possible that you’ll get your interview notice before you even get a work permit and that’s great cause having a green card ceases the need of an ead and in any case a lot of jobs frown upon work permits. Good luck 👍🏽🍀

Your not alone. Hundreds of us in the exact same situation. The i485 takes it's own path and is not connected to the i765 or i131

JOOK. got a reaction from SJ2020 in I love this website.
There are so many people who have good knowledge and help others....
I've also just found that this website shows the estimated date for each process..

My husband's was filed last Fall, but it took around four months before he received his combo card. Yours hopefully will be sent soon!

JOOK. reacted to Cheschirecat in When will I receive EAD~?
We are B2 to AOS, so on the form I-765 for employment it asked if he wanted to also apply for SSN, so he marked yes and it was sent too.

JOOK. reacted to Cheschirecat in When will I receive EAD~?

JOOK. reacted to payxibka in Can I get SSN with State ID card?
No. Stae ID does not give you employment authorization

JOOK. got a reaction from SalishSea in When will I receive EAD~?
: ( I know I used an English word "KNOW", but I was just asking about "expected date." I know you are not USCIS, so of course, you can't know the date. ha..
I don't know why you are so negative like that. Thanks for your time to leave a comment here. : (

JOOK. got a reaction from WaterLeaf in When will I receive EAD~?
Hi @WaterLeaf
Thanks for sharing the interesting news with me! I've just read the news article. I'm glad that I and my husband are financially stable. It's so sad some people would get denied with that reason.

JOOK. reacted to payxibka in When will I receive EAD~?
Uscis has several online tools, projected case processing times by application type and processing center is but one of them
-
JOOK. reacted to WaterLeaf in When will I receive EAD~?
Interesting, I may have been outdated for a bit. Does the 2.5 to 5 month part goes for all centers or just the NBC (National Benefit Center?)
JOOK, did you get your NOA1 yet? I think you did according to your first post... but your timeline is empty on your profile.
Also, you may want to check out this thread if you are a July 2019 AOS filer: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/711545-july-2019-aos-filers/#comments

JOOK. reacted to geowrian in When will I receive EAD~?
You asked for a definitive. I stated there is none.
It was not negative. Yeah, it could be denied. But your AOS could be approved before the EAD, so the EAD will never get approved as it's superceeded by the green card. It happens more often than one thinks (with quick local field offices).

Take your time reading across the forum here, you'll see why it can be 4-7 months.
Each processing centers get slammed with packages that needed to be reviewed and filled out daily including double checking. In this time frame, this is the best time for you to find out more what are your rights during your stay and what are your best protection and defenses to study up on so you don't accidentally get yourself into the trouble. Here is a starter as fip&jim sent to me a while back... thing you should carry:
There is information on the ACLU website (American Civil Liberties Union) and the National Immigration Law Center about how to deal with various scenarios that could happen with the police or ICE.
I also found the link for that here ---> https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/immigrants-rights/
https://www.aclu.org/know-your-rights/stopped-by-police/#ive-been-stopped-by-the-police-in-public
Hopefully this will help you spend some time reviewing some things. Not trying to go off topic but I kind of did, oops.
