Seriously? Way to get denied. Your “imaginary line” is pretty important to everyone in uscis, DoS, CBP and dhs in general.

OP, make your best efforts to remember. Did you not for example put in your calendar the weekends you traveled? Otherwise just be honest with the IO and say you traveled a number of times, estimate x weekends but cannot remember exact dates. It shouldn’t be enough time out the country to cause a problem even if you went every weekend assuming  you didn’t spend months out the US otherwise.
For others reading this - remember this is a question that comes up and make an effort to record your trips.

Buy a round flight ticket -that's proof of her returning- but don't go for the maximum length.

She's was in the US for 2.5 months in 2019, make it 8-10 weeks this time, at most.

+1 on this as well. As a current federal worker I would also put this on my non-urgent list that will get done "when I get to it".

For someone who is apparently so knowledgeable about the inner workings of the federal government, it’s super weird you didn’t realize that getting your SSN and your (STATE’S) driver’s licenses are completely separate process and not what you should base immigration matters on AT ALL. I feel like that’s basic common sense.

Also, I’m a federal worker and I can promise you that your entitled attitude means your complaints are getting filed directly into my non-urgent pile, letter from Lady Trump be damned.

Because I have been here long enough to understand this issue and those that I help, more times then not, have met at least once but rarely more. Those who live in VWP country's have the luxury of traveling back and forth. Those who live some 18 to 24 hour travel time away and are not VWP fall into the category of  one time meetings.

Basically what Prop. 47 did is that it changed many felonies in to misdemeanors such as possession, robbery, larceny for short. So you have people commuting crimes and are basically getting only a ticket if anything. So this changed how cops can do enforce the law because there is no incentive for them to bring a guy in for something when that person will only be let out in a few hours. So many of them stopped responding to smaller calls.

Basically Prop 47, 57, and AB 109 hurt regular people

Hehe yes, i have both I-797 for I-90 and I-485 and a photocopy of my green card. It’s just annoying that she kept insisting I follow the date on the green card with regards to removing my conditions down the line. I got lucky that I still have my EAD/AP card in my wallet. She even said that I made a mistake returning my card since the date is right.  😒🙄

Thanks. I was confident that I am right since, before I even sent back my green card, I posted a question here regarding my concerns and everyone that commented said it’s the date I got approved, which makes total sense to me.

Pengunista got a reaction from geowrian in USCIS person kept giving me wrong information
So, I went to a USCIS field office today to get a I-551 stamp.  Backstory: I got my conditional green card in the mail this past October 11, 2019. When I looked at the “resident since” date it say 11/09/18 with an expiration of 11/09/20. So I knew right away that it’s wrong and I even went here to double check it. So the next day I went and sent back the green card with I-90 form. So that’s that.

So today when I was called in to the window, the lady asked why I’m there, and I said I need the stamp.  She asked me why, so I explained to her what happened.  After looking at my I-797 for I-90 and my I-485 she was saying that the date on my resident since is right. And I said no, and she said that it’s right, the date they USCIS received it. So, just to make her understand that she is wrong, I told her, so if I’ve been a resident since 2018 how is it that I only got my card last month? Or better yet, I bust out my EAD/AP card saying, if I was a resident since 2018 who would they then issued me an employment authorization March of this year.  All she can say to me is, for me to follow what’s on the date of my green card when It’s time to file for I-751, and she said next year coz that’s what it says in my card. How can she say that when she knows that by me following that date on the wrong card would mess up my file and I’ll be blamed for it. Not that I would actually follow her bad advice but just irritating that someone who works there would tell me to follow the date on a card that has wrong information. I just need to vent out here.  I did get my stamp, a guy who also works there stop at the window I am and the lady asked him. And yes I was right. I asked the guy, if by any chance I’m wrong and that I didn’t know how this “resident since” date work.

No fee for the I-765 when you have a pending I-485. Send a copy of the I-485's NOA1 in lieu of payment.

Edit: What category did you put on the I-765? You may have used the wrong category, which would have a payment required. i.e. (a)(6) instead of (c)(9)

You don't need to, you don't have to update the passport. If you ticket matches your travel document (which is your passport), 99% of the time nobody will ask anything. The only place they might ask something is US Custom CBP, because the name on the travel document won't match the name on the AP or the Green card or something, at which time she says she's married and changed her name and here's the marriage certificate.

Nah you don’t need to bring another I-485 form.  Just bring the original of the birth certificate, and marriage certificate just Incase they want to see it.  Obviously being any other additional proof that you might have, like bills, and such.  And no need for the I-693 as that doesn’t apply to you, but do bring the photocopy of the DS3025 just in case.

I think most of the jobs filled by undocumented people are the types of jobs most USCs and LPRs wouldn't dream of wanting to do.
Under-the-table-employment usually equals no benefits, minimum (or sometimes less than minimum) wage, longer hours, harder labour, not the greatest working conditions, no rights by the employee, etc.

That's not to say there aren't USCs and LPRs going through some of those same conditions...what I mean to say, is that those working illegally get far more taken advantage of BECAUSE they are working illegally...employers know they can take full advantage however they want to without any real recourse---employees know they have no real power in fighting whatever the employer wants, because they need the money to survive and cannot report unfair working conditions to anyone else due to fear of being found out as an illegal.

You have to be truthful all the time especially on your interview.  I know it’s sad to see a relationship fall apart, but please don’t go to your interview and pretend that things are okay between the two of you.  It’s unfair to other couples who jumps thru hoops just to prove to the immigration officer that their marriage is real.

You will need to file forms I-130 andI-130A, I-485, I-131, I-765, I-864, and I-693. The I-693 you can wait till you have a have a date for interview. The rest you file all together.  The forms I-131 and I-765 is free when you file it together with I-485.
