THIS is your problem. You need to put (c) (9) or else you need to send in money for EAD processing.
    K-1 is (c) (9).

(a)(6) is for an EAD based on K-1 status. This is possible, but it requires the I-765 fee AND it expires at the end of the original 90 days from POE (which makes is useless with current processing timelines as it would be expired before they could even issue it).

(c)(9) is for an EAD based on a pending I-485 application. It has nothing to do with a K-1.
It also has no fee, which is the big one here.

If you put the wrong codes in EAD question 27 - it happens - then the fee is more than 1225. So, I would suggest before you mail it back that you look at the EAD form and see if question 27 says  "(C)(9)" or something else.

Just send back the package with a check and you should be good.

Unless it is a logo'd debit (visa or mc) which will process as a credit transaction

    There is no debit form.
Form G1450 is for credit cards only.
If you input a debit card it would have been refused.

Roxy and Emmy reacted to Pitaya in Do you need a certified copy of the fiancee's birth certificate to file for AOS?
Your point may be moot, as that the beneficiary, mentioned in the initial posting, will likely need to provide a copy of their Chinese "White Book" Notarial Certificate Birth Certificate. It is a bound booklet four pages in length.  The actual Chinese abstraction page from the family book (hukou) and Chinese certification page of the document are each followed by an English language translation page, all signed and sealed by a Chinese Notary Public. The US Consulate in Guangzhou, China and USCIS understand their purpose and accept them for Chinese birth certificate use.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Agree with Randy, unless you are in the "new group" as he describes, you will likely have to provide a copy of all pages of your partner's Notarial Certificate "White Book" - Birth Certificate . Go to the China Regional Forum  for a thorough explanation of this document, and other Notarial Certificates. it is basically an abstraction taken from his family's hukou. This is an ancient system of family registration that is slowly changing.

Your partner should have had several copies of their "White Book" - Birth Certificate prepared while he was in China. We provided a copy of all pages of my wife's and stepson's "White Book" - Birth Certificate with the rest of their AOS documentation. We took an original with us for the AOS interview, should the need for comparison have arisen.

Roxy and Emmy reacted to RandyW in Do you need a certified copy of the fiancee's birth certificate to file for AOS?
You will most likely need the white book Notarial Certificate of Birth, or 出生公证书, or chu sheng gong zheng shu, unless your partner has one of the newer Medical Certificate of Birth - 出生医学证明  (chu sheng yixue zheng ming).

Birth certificates were not issued in China prior to 1996.

FYI we got RFE for not sending original translation. If you have BC from foreign country in Foreign Language, you need to send
1.COPY of BC from Foreign Country and
    2.ORIGINAL TRANSLATION DOCUMENT.
If BC is in English then a copy of it should be Okay

I actually got an RFE after filing the K-1 because I translated myself. I put the affidavit but it didn’t matter. Better get a certified translation and have them put in their contact info and stamp at the bottom with their affidavit.

No one can tell you. Once you go into AP it could take days, weeks, months or years. All depends on how busy the consulate/embassy is, how fast all the checks go trough, the outcome of the checks etc. The fact that they did ask her passport back is a good sign. So yeah, sit back and just wait.

Below the required income level for the household size = cannot be approved.
Above the minimum = decision by the CO based on the totality of the circumstances.

Roxy and Emmy reacted to SalishSea in If a joint sponsor makes a salary over the poverty line, will they be approved?
On paper it looks good, but there is no way for anyone here to know for sure.  The public charge assessment by the CO is made based on the totality of circumstances.

Might not be bad to have a potential second joint sponsor lined up, just in case.  Best of luck.

There is a link in my post in the last sentence to determine income levels needed.  Please check there. 100% is needed for K1 interview  and 125% for AOS after marriage.  ,If you are at 125% or above you have no problems.

They are looking for the same as the petitioner.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form (https://www.uscis.gov/i-134) K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with an original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here: https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.
