Phew! Received texts today saying they had received all my documents and I now have the case numbers for my i485 and my i765. Weirdly, they say they received the i765 on April 19th, but they received the i485 on May 6th, but they were sent together! Weird, but I can understand why the change of status takes a little longer. And relax!

Still no sign of my NOA1, i called up USCIS this morning and they had no record of it and told me to wait til 30 days had passed. I told them that that would be outside of my visa expiry date and they didn't seem too worried, just told me to call Customs and Border Protection and to tell them the situation. I did that and the lady there had no idea what i was on about and was like "why on earth did they send you to us?" Very frustrating. Anybody elses NOA1 take this long??

Sometimes it takes a long time to get the NOA1, after 30 days you can call and open a service request. They are so swamped right now though it is likely just in a pile waiting to be filed. You definitely aren't getting a green card before May 10, but you will be in "AOS pending" status in the mean time which does give you the privilege of staying in the USA legally while it is in processing. This is the same status you would have if you left the country and re-entered on AP.
Check out this thread:
I wouldn't sweat it.
Thanks very much. My main silly worry is like what if it got lost, I call up to open a service request after 30 days (after my 90 days expired) and they say “we have no record of you sending it, also you’re now out of the 90 days and didn’t file get ready to be sent back home”
A very over dramatic thought but you know how this visa stuff makes the mind jump through some pretty terrible hoops!

Hi everyone, my wife and I got married on the 30th of March and filed off all of the appropriate AOS documents to the Chicago PO box on April 15th. USPS says it was delivered on Wednesday the 17th of April, but we still have no sign of an NOA1, text, email or anything! Starting to worry, especially as my visa ends May 10th! Don’t know what to do!

Hey,
Did you get the email yet?
I sent the response to package 3 on the 21st and haven't heard anything so far 😟
Very frustrating.
Hey,
Ive emailed them a couple of times and the response i've had was "we've not yet received or reviewed your documents. please be aware that receipt and review of mail may be delayed severely due to the holidays and high volume of incoming mail"
It's killing me!

Hi all,
My Fiancee and i have now got our case number from the NVC but it has yet to be forwarded to the consulate here in germany. Should i go ahead with registering and paying the fee on the ustraveldocs site now or should i wait until i have packet 3 in hand and I've sent off the documents (I134 etc) in the post?
thanks!

Hi all,

An employment letter is an example of the type of evidence that can be provided. It is not a mandatory requirement
I guess what im trying to ask is, are we trying to prove that the petitioner has the employment currently and earns over the threshold, or are we trying to prove that they have earned over the threshold in the last year? or both?

Just the petitioner needs a letter from employer HR on company letter head paper stating what your hire date was, position, total earnings for previous year 2017 assuming your interview will be this year and if your position is a temp job or regular full time employment. Beneficiary doesn’t need anything for I-134

ok, so it needs the total earning so far as well as the present salary? in that case will we need to add a cosponsor or someone since the petitioner has only been working since september? i'm getting confused.

Hi All, just a question regarding the Affadavit of Support (filling it out now while we wait, driving me mad!)
On the "Instructions for Form I-134" PDF it says you need a letter from the employer stating "salary paid"; is that just your total yearly salary or do they mean salary that has already been paid out to you? I imagine its the former but it doesn't hurt to check!
Secondly, My fiancee (the sponsor) only started her first job in september and before then was a student. She more than exceeds the minimum salary requirement in her current job but would they be turned off by her not having had it for very long? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi All! just been approved, absolutely over the moon. the sites are updated but don't have the letter in hand yet. Is now the time to start filling in the ds160 and sending it off or should we be waiting? i went through the online form and saved it, one thing that worried me a bit was that it wouldn't let me select the berlin embassy? it said it doesn't do k1 visas...anybody have any info on that?

Just watched my timeline estimation switch from 17th-22nd of October to 20th-25th October right in front of my eyes 😩

Hey all,
Do the police certificates have to be acquired after we get NOA2, or can you get them earlier in preparation?
Really starting to feel the distance now, it's horrible! luckily i have my trip to the USA booked for a week on monday to tide us over, but still. Thank god for the internet!

Rule Number 1: Don't make any CONCRETE plans until you have VOH (Visa on Hand)
Immigration does not care if you have a wedding or a funeral. They will do what they want, when they want it.
If you asked this question earlier in the year, I'll say technically, a year should be more than okay from application to wedding
BUT we don't know the future. Timelines keep extending and there's so many things changing. My suggestion to you is to wait until you have at least NOA2 and see how quickly your embassy is moving before you even start any plans.
oh, yeah don't worry at this point we werent going to consider booking anything for a good while yet, just thought in our boredom of waiting we could line up a few ducks in a row to knock down when things start moving!

Hey all,
We are planning around an early april wedding date, do you guys think thats a feasible time? Our timeline has us receiving noa2 around october 24th-27th.
cheers!

U can visit without a issue. Just have return ticket, letter from employer stating return to work date. It’s not as big of a issue as everyone thinks it is.
My fiancé visited in March, we filed end of January and received notice February 2nd. She will be visiting again August 30th for 2 weeks.
Cant recall which month it was but, someone was driving from Canada to USA. They stop at immigration and did as they always do. Officer came back and said ur all set. Oh btw ur k1 visa was approved today. Congratulations.... they didn’t know it at the time themselves. Pretty cool surprise when just going for a visit....
Ok, thanks! one small matter is that i'm currently in between jobs, but if i brought other proof (rental contract for my apartment, NOA1, flight information for future trips within europe i have booked) would i be ok? sorry to hijack this thread for an off topic discussion!

Hey Everyone! Just got our interview date for January 29th, super happy because i thought it was going to come much later!
A quick question, do i still need to bring the sealed medical form if I had one attached to my original K1 application? IE do i need to get the I693 done before the interview if my original k1 application contained vaccination and medical exam results? (Medical exam was December 2018, Filed for AOS April 2019)
Thanks!
