    It really should n't take more than a year for a reschedule...perhaps ask if you can have the oath at another location.

    This isn't always true. If you live in the UK and you are from a commonwealth country (i.e. India)  then you are allowed to vote in local elections.
     
    I think it was an honest mistake by the OP. Why would a person do something that they know is illegal and then admit it at an interview that would jeopardize thair n400 application and LPR status. As everyone said, I would lawyer up and let the lawyer guide you on how to establish evidence to prove your innocence. Good luck.
