myjourney2018 reacted to BellaUnion in Santa Ana CA Field Office 2020
Hi all
We couldn't find any recent AOS discussion from the Santa Ana field office, so, rather than resurrect an old topic, we thought we would make a new one where members can commiserate, pool information etc. I hope this is okay.
As you can see from our timeline, we filed in November 2019. Status changed to 'case is ready to be scheduled for an interview' in January 2020. We've heard nothing further in respect of the I-485 since then. Combo card was received at the end of February 2020.
There's a thread over on Reddit that suggests there's been no interviews at the Santa Ana FO since March 2020, but the timelines here on VJ would suggest there's been at least one since then (which was yesterday - 6th August 2020). No reports of any interview waivers that we can find.
Anyway, fellow Santa Ana filers, please feel free to post here with updates, information, vents or whatever. We'll post whatever updates we have.
Finally, just wanted to give a big thanks to all the people who contribute here. This place has been an immensely valuable resource for us, as we're sure it has been to many other former lurkers.
Stay safe and stay well everyone in these very difficult times.

What I did was xerox plane tickets/boarding passes, put photos into a ziplock bag when I send in my petition. Did you follow the guide on VJ?

You can find a copy of the checklist on this forum with some searching, it's a bit old but it's the same as the new checklist. Stockholm is very efficient and fast, my fiance had her interview last month. Also my recommendation is to book the interview a couple of weeks after your medical so they have time to send your medical to the embassy or else your approval will pend on the embassy getting the medical. Wish y'all the best of luck

myjourney2018 got a reaction from Savvy in DECEMBER 2018 K-1 NOA2 ----> NVC
NVC forwards your packet to the embassy in your fiance's home country. I'm not sure if the part after is country/embassy specific but the embassy emailed me a checklist to forward to my fiance.

I've read that the embassy does not do a credit check so you don't necessarily have to list those. I only put my gross income on mine, did not put any debt or mortgages info and did not have any problems.

myjourney2018 reacted to Roel in Withdraw and refile new
So since your ex was approved already, how do you know if she didnt arrive in the US?
All your "fiances " are from the same country...? I mean good luck and everything, but look at this from USCIS perspective. And your last ex was only approved few months ago.. and you already sponsoring a new girl? Looks like you're just bringing in one woman after another...
Maybe they to take some time to be single before bringing in another girl you probably barely know...

myjourney2018 reacted to aaron2020 in DS-160 required?
Yes. She needs to file a new DS-160 to apply for the K-1 visa at the US Consulate.
P.S. My wife would not like it when if I said that "she claims she did . . . .whatever" It like I don't believe her by using the words "she claims." May I suggest that you just say that "she said she filed a DS-160 to get it." Less judgmental. For the tourist visa, she was required to file a DS-160.

myjourney2018 reacted to Ben&Zian in K1 Visa Refused
Not the case always. Sometimes it's obvious to the beneficiary or the CO will say it to them why, but think most times you won't know for sure. That's why there are so many people on here asking why they got denied and we have to pry information about their relationship out of them until finally we can try to identify the possible "issue".

just hang on tight like others have mentioned since you already emailed the embassy, wait and see if you get a second interview otherwise wait and see what the reason for denial is. good luck

For the initiate petition, you just need to be brief and concise about when/where you met in the past two years.

oh okay thanks for the information! I would probably inquire about it in the regional forum since that sounds embassy specific.

My fiance already did her interview this past week. So you are from Denmark? Interview at stockholm is every thursday.

myjourney2018 got a reaction from Jo&Bob in Scandinavians Part 2
P3 has not changed, I suggest getting started on your medical as soon as you get the case number from NVC. Interview appointment wait time for stockholm is very quick, literally within a week but appointment wait time for the medical exam with the doctor in stockholm is longer, 2 weeks and then 2-3 weeks for the results.
Oh also, you might want to consider getting your fiance vaccinated somewhere else instead of the medical exam place if needed, the doctor there charges double the normal rate.
