Hey guys, so finally the us embassy in cairo contacted me last Wednesday, (/ was changes to or 2 days) before they contacted me, i have been in AP for 9 months, visa type IR1, and already i filled joined mandamus action one month ago but still not finished, the embassy asked me for new medical, 2 personal photos, police clearance and my passport, they didn't ask me to update my DS-260 (p.s in my ds260 my old passport number but  at the interview i had my new passport and i told them that, they said no problem) so do you think i need to update the DS-260??!! 
And does any one know How long US embassy in cairo/egypt take to send my passport back????
 
anyways, things are getting better so soon all of us will be reunited with our families, good luck

Congrats to all!  Also... to us!  We were contacted today by the Frankfurt consulate to finalize our visa application. We'll have to get new police certificates, do a new medical exam, mail it in and wait approximately two weeks for the consulate to finish processing. We're right around 11 months of AP and they are asking us to do it swiftly so that we can avoid having to do another interview (necessary if > 12 months).

Hi all. Happy that people are finally getting good news. My husband and I also got some good news- I am pregnant. 🤰🏻Now the pressure is on for him to come before May. I really hope he will arrive before the baby. We knew it was chancy but I am turning 35 in January and can’t keep waiting to start our family. October 3 (a day after I turn 8 weeks) will be 6 months in AP. 😢
  On a different note- is anyone coming to the Congressional meeting next Tuesday about the ban. My sister and I are going. This is our chance to speak up and show that this ban is hurting real people. If you live near DC I hope you will join me. 
   Praying we can all be with our loved ones soon! 

FINALLY! they just called me and gave us an appointment 5 weeks from now for re-oath and submitting documents. 
I hope all of you receive this call guys! 

My wife' s phone number in Syria no longer works since she left the country; but they still have our emails  
I also had sent them her updated phone number a few weeks ago; i guess they do not read our email carefully!

Why would they call someone in the US to schedule an appointment though, rather than calling the local person who applied for the visa?

I sure hope that was not the reason  
 
Hopefully they do not take their time to call back. Some embassies they make calls once or twice a week for scheduling purposes. We shall see! 
 
It is very stupid, it is 2019 and they do not think about emailing or leaving a voicemail!!

I have sent them 4 emails so far   In the last email, I told them that I won't sleep tonight in order to wait for their call! 
Also, my lawyer sent them one. 
Thank you dear. When I called back the numbers they used, I was sent to an operator and he was not able to transfer me to anyone!

Glad things are finally rolling. Personally, I received a few calls from the US embassy in Amman while I was asleep last night and did not pick up since my phone was silent  
 
I stayed up the rest of the night waiting for them to call again; I am hoping they will call me tonight! We have been on AP for 15 months and we hope it is over! 

i had the same reply before everybody tells me its almost done it has been over two months now😞  

Today our case got an update and the / changed into or! I am trying to be optimistic and hope this superstitious concept is true  
 
We shall see if we hear something from the embassy! 
 
My case received 4 updates the past 4 weeks (but one of them due to contacting the White House, which I received a response as a result)! 
 
Praying good news comes our ways! 

Well guys, this morning (oddly enough) we received a good news. The Yerevan embassy asked us to send passport, medical and other documents to them. The waiver process has come to an end for us after exactly 1 year and 7 months. I cannot express in words how relieved we are that this ordeal is almost over.

Had our interview in Ankara today and we were approved! It was overall very smooth 

jus spent 1 hour and 45 minutes on hold and did get the case number ... but in my excitement I actually got through I forgot to ask for the invoice number .. guess who's on hold again 🤣

If embassy receives your document before 2 years they report cr1 being on ap for 3 years wont change that, they will still report cr1.
POI officer decides the category of the green card.
 
Once you are approved (for a spousal visa) you have 6 months to enter the states so lets say you get your petition approved in a year and 7 months and you enter the sates 2 years and 1 month into your marriage your visa category now is IR1 not CR1 but the embassy has reported cr1.
 So your analysis are misleading and incorrect.
