Once you two are divorced he can do ROC on his own with the divorce waiver option. They don’t need your signed petition or signed affidavit for validity of marriage. You vouched for him during K1 and during AOS and he got GC based on that. As long as there is some concrete evidence that he planned all this out to get GC, USCIS usually doesn’t care and they are highly not likely to investigate on such stuffs.
Post marriage anything can happen and people can separate/divorce and usually doesn’t impact ROC.

If you truly believe he used you to get GC, one way to screw him up is don’t divorce and keep separated. His ROC will likely be denied based on no good evidences of marital relationship.

Thank you so very much.  You provided me with much valuable information.  He also abuses me mentally since he was approved.  He screams & calls me names on a daily basis.  Inside the house, he feels comfortable chatting with his girlfriend on apps.  He thinks there is nothing I can do because he now has his conditional green card.  Again, I appreciate the time you took to help me.

It will be okay.  Many of us didn't know what we were doing from the very beginning of our journey.  I can personally tell you that all the information you need is here on the various VJ forums.  It just takes a little time to get the answers you need.  When you need help or don't understand something, there is always someone who has gone through this & will assist you.  Honestly, I never heard of K1 visa before I started this process.  All the info I got was from VJ members who were willing to guide me.  You can complete the remainder of your journey by yourself with help from other members.  Wishing you a speedy journey.

Hi.  It's your case, so feel free to contact NVC to get your case & invoice ID#'s.  Wait a couple of weeks after you have been approved.  Best wishes.

Hi guys.  We got approved with USCIS for K-1,  yesterday.  I was wondering if anyone has specifics & requirements for Dakar, Senegal Embassy?  Does the embassy send you packet 3 & 4 after fees have been paid to NVC?  Also, how are appointments set up?  I want to start organizing myself with needed documents & etc.  I thank you in advance.  Have a great weekend.

Just my opine,  but the term "Rapid",  IMO, is just a marketing tool, and no faster than doing it yourself, in most cases...

Hi.  Things seems to be getting more challenging for Nigerians.  If you responded with all they requested, at some point, you will be updated.  My now husband is Nigerian, so I feel your pain.  It will be okay.  Keep yourself busy & hopefully soon you will get good news.

Their job is to process the paperwork, not to second guess USCIS and NVC by holding a new interview.   That decision has already been made.

Kowatti reacted to geowrian in Do K-1 Visa Holders need SSN before getting married?
An SSN is not required to get married.
Although some states have rules that one must attempt to obtain one first and be denied (which won't happen if you're still in the first 76 days, unless there is manual verification involved...in which case I presume they can provide the no-SSN-available letter as well).

Not mandatory to get married in the USA, if someone else tells you different then they are incorrect

Kowatti reacted to mc962 in AOS interview on Friday -- evidence help!
We sent in the relationship evidence we had by the time we were ready to send in the application.

That included join bank account, join health insurance, and some pictures (along with some stuff that we also had from our K1).

I think it could be helpful to send it, but obviously you can't send what you don't yet have, and at most it just means the officer asks to see it at the interview.

You can delay it as long as you want. But once her I-94 expires she is out of status and potentially could be deported. Unlikely to happen right away but it’s a possibility. Can you not borrow the money?

Since this is only he second k1, you have no restrictions.

Kowatti reacted to Greenbaum in Embassy appointment scheduled but I am confused on where we pay the $265 K-1 visa fee?
Once you get a case number, you can fill out the DS 160 online. Print the confirmation page for this once completed.

When you have your case number, enter it here https://ceac.state.g...ker/status.aspx and it will tell you one of three things,  at NVC, In Transit, or Ready. Once your case shows "Ready" then you email the consulate and request an interview. Include your name, fiancés name, case number and that you're looking to schedule a K1 Fiance Visa interview. I heard they'll email you back within 2 weeks or so but some have heard back the same day that they sent the email.

When they email you back they'll tell you when your appointment is. Attached will be packet 3. Includes a list of doctors to choose from for the medical , your rights and your appointment letter. At that point - just get your papers together. Usually your fiancé gets the police records in a week. Court records same day. Celabecy letter same day. And birth cert in the same day. Once you have them, then dropped them off to be translated. Picked them up in a week. Already you're at 2 weeks for gathering the fiancés paperwork. On top of that make sure your fiancé sends you their documents (I-134, proof of relationship, taxes, pay stubs, letter from employer, updated letter of intent..).
