Get SSN first, then get married. After receiving the marriage certificate, apply for AOS with work permit and advance parole.

Most SS officer won't issue a SSN with a married name, because that's not the name in their system. Apply with maiden name, and after getting married, try to change it. If they don't do it. You need to wait for EAD to change it, but definitely apply for it asap.

The embassy is the one responsible for extending that. You should contact the embassy

Ayrton got a reaction from geowrian in Old or New Passport to use at POE
You need to show both passports. You new passport is your current travel document. That's gonna be in their database (I-94). Since your visa is in your old passport, you also need to show it so they can know you have a k1 Visa.

Ayrton got a reaction from Ryanka in DID NOT MEET THE MINIMUM REQUIRED INCOME
I believe you're fine. On the I-134 you're gonna write down your current income which is above the poverty line. You should also give your fiance a letter from your employer stating your current anual income and the start date of your job and get your paystubs too.

My appointment was at 8:40. I got there at 8:30, checked in at the door (we don't need to wait in line with the tourist visa people) and went to the second floor. Two people was checking the documents and asked to put then in the order specified in the list. If you forgot to print something, there's a computer and a printer there you can use. After that someone will call you to check the documents again, compare them to the information provided in the petition and in the ds-160. After that you wait for the consular officer to call you by your name. When I got there, there was only one CO working, so it was pretty slow, but then two more people showed up. I was called around 10:30/10:40. He asked my fiance's name, when we met, where he lives, what he does, if he ever came to brazil, f I met his family and what are our plans for the wedding. It didn't last more than 5 minutes. He said he would be able to issue the visa, told me the expiration date of it, that I should get married within the 90 days after arriving, the visa would be ready for pick up in two weeks, and that was it. I left the building at 11.
Every interview was pretty quick, I don't remember seeing someone being denied. There was some people that needed to submit more documents, but they said they would be approved after sending it. There was one case in particular that the doctor forgot to fill out some forms in her sealed package. So the embassy would have to call the doctor to make sure everything was okay. The COs were encouraging people to take the vaccines here in Brazil as well, if they haven't taken in the medical appointment.
@Greenbaum Everything was fine with my scanned affidavit form. They don't require it to have a wet signature.

Check your I-94 online. All your trips should be there. You just need your passport number.

Ayrton got a reaction from Ate in How long is a signed I-134 valid for?
5 months is a long time. You can change your job, move, and it will be out of date.
The checklist from your embassy doesn't mention that the affidavit needs to have a wet signature. Most embassies will take a scanned and printed i-134. Check with other people from your country if they did it like that. If they require, you could mail them.
