  1. Thanks
SMR&JDR got a reaction from Ajk3visa in Got approved but on CEAC it says Administrative Processing??
First and foremost, I'm really sorry to hear about the passing of your husband. My heartfelt condolences to you.

We got our NOA2 end of January. We received an NVC letter beginning of March. We heard from the embassy on the 10th of March.
We really don't know how long it took NVC to process the case and forward it to the embassy. But assuming from the numbers, it'd be over a month. But it also depends case to case. Honestly, your best friend right now is patience lol. I know it seems never ending and hard, but trust me everything will fall into place before you know it

Just wait it out patiently, is the only advice.  Maybe some head brass needs to scrutinize the background check one last time before they stamp it with approval, and the number of cases is piled up causing a delay.  If there is more information they are seeking, you'll be sure to hear about it.

Wish you the best of luck, hope news comes soon!

We didn't hire a lawyer and it all went smooth. The main thing is to be organized and include as much evidence as possible and you'll be fine.

All the best to you both! 😊

    Thank you.

Let me say this:  This is one of the most happy days of my life.  I can't even describe the emotions that I have right now.

Almost 3 years she and I planned to be together.  So many ups and downs in that time.  Happy times, and a few trips to hell and back.  So many times I thought this day would never come.

Now my girl is here with me.  I almost have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.

Again, thank you all for the support during my stressful few hours earlier today.  From the bottom of my heart, I am grateful to all of you.

Excellent about not making official plans until visa is IN HAND. Not just approved as you could wind up in AP for months after the approval.

As for a lot of people, court house wedding is a simple and quick way to fulfill the marriage requirements and enables you to apply for AOS. Some manage to pull off a large wedding on short notice. Some just go to Las Vegas.

If you do a court house wedding, you can always plan a larger ceremony (party or for religious reasons) at a later date. Main thing is just to get the legal marriage part taken care of within the 90 days.

There is no right or wrong way to do it honestly as long as it is legal.

We included none of that (except for the required letter of intent), and received no RFE.  Yes, there are countless anecdotal stories one can come up with.....but the USCIS optional check list/instruction sheet is written the way it is for a reason:  that is the list of what they want!  Adding 100 pics and chat logs is fluff that slows down the adjudicators who must wade through that mess, is not asked for, and does not necessarily support the requirements of the petition (legally able and intending to conduct a marriage within 90 days, having met once during preceding two years, etc.).

My case was closed on oct 11th, interview was scheduled on nov 13th. But it all depends in the availability of your embassy

Everyone seems to get confused with the point you included which is no. 2. You DO NOT need to HAVE met two years before filing. It's "have met at least once in the past two years". Meaning you could have met ten times or once within the last two years.

Let me respond to your question nicely. I don't understand why the people here are trying to be rude about it.

5 months is too short to even plan of having a life with someone. No matter how many hours you two spent together, there's still things you don't know about each other, sorry to say this but both of you are just showing the good side of yourselves. Only time will really reveal to you how a person truly is. Only after knowing each other well, however long that may be, when you're both comfortable to take your relationship to the next level, can you both plan of marrying each other. This is my advice to both of you, love is an amazing thing, but don't let it fool you into thinking you're ready for such a commitment. You know it's the right moment when you feel it in your gut and be realistic about it i.e, have gotten time to know each other really really well.

If it helps you feel better, my fiancé and I got engaged after 9 months of knowing each other but didn't file until it has been 2 years.

    Be safe and good luck!
