  1. It figures! I booked airline tickets for us to go to Florida for New Years and of course hubby's biometrics appoint letter arrives today for January 2nd.

Just want to make sure that I do this correctly,

    1. Send the original and check the box that states reschedule my appointment...to USCIS center that the appointment is at.

    2. Send a copy to the Vermont Center (as this is where his packet was sent to)

Anything else? Should I send our travel itn.? Should I call.

    Thanks!

  2. Now the waiting begins....I sent it priority with delivery confirmation. I included the following documents:

    • I-751 Form filled out and signed with payment

    • Copies of both of our driver’s license to prove we are living at the same address.

    • Copies of husband’s current greencard and passport.

    • Pictures of our vacation in Vienna and Hungary.

  3. Ok the house is in my name as I bought it before we got married, same with my car lease, cable and electric.

But I got letters today from our car insurance and bank and have statements for our savings account health insurance records and tax returns. Also I have statments to add to the letters from our car insurance and bank. Also I have our airline tickets from our trip to Hungary in September.

Should I include pictures as well?

  4. I have the following to submit as proof of marriage:

    1. Tax Returns for 2006 and 2007

    2. Joint Bank Account from 06

    3. Car Insurance Statements

    4. Health Insurance statements

    5. Pictures from vacations and family outings(including a trip back to my husband's country in September).

How many statements should I include? Should I show different months or should I include everything from 2006?

Is this enough? Please let me know! I am so stressed!

  7. Ok well Peter got approved for his I-485 and his I-131. I got the emails today! I was so nervous because this morning our file was just "touched" so I got knots in my stomach and then tonite I got the approved emails. We can't be any happier!!!!! For a recap here is what happened with our interview two weeks ago...

We had our Interview today in the NYC office in Federal Plaza. We got there around 9:15am for our 9:45 appointment. We were called in around 11 and it was over by 1130 but no approval....

I was a nervous wreck at first!!! We were sworn in and the officer asked for birth certificates, passports and marriage license. The first question she asked was for Peters full name and address. Then she asked me for Peter's birthday and I blanked out. I don't know why but I blanked....but i said it stumbling through....

She asked a bunch of questions, how we met, who initiated the relationship, what do we like to do on the weekends, about each others parents (names, have we both met the other's parents, etc.). She even asked Peter what was my address prior to our current one, he couldn't remember the address itself but the city and described the location. When did we have our last fight, what was the first thing I noticed about Peter. She looked at pictures and asked Peter who one of the girls was and he got that right. She then asked me about a picture of Peter with one of his friends. She also took two pictures of us (one from the wedding and one from NYE). She asked Peter about the picture from NYE. She also asked Peter where was the last time I went out of the country and where. He answered the location right but missed on the year.

Then here is where it got a little hairy...She asked Peter what did I do for a living and he didn't know the name of the company......Well I was unemployed for a lil bit and I have my own consulting company. I just got a job at a dance studio and started last week (so no paystubs or letter from employer). I did however bring all my W-2s and paystubs for my company... She didn't say whether or not she needed anything else.

Then she asked for proof of joint documents. Peter has no driver's license or Social Security number. He was just approved for the EAD 3 1/2 weeks ago and once we received the card we went straight to the SS Office to get his card. Social security said that would take 4 weeks. I own a Co-Op and I can't put him on my deed or my monthly maintaince bill because they have to do a credit check on him. The bank told me no ID or Social Security Number no joint account, even Cablevision requires a social security number or Driver's License to add him to my account. The only thing I was able to put Peter on was my credit card. I explained this to the officer and backed it up with documentation showing what was required to add him to my accounts.

She took Peter's passport and wrote I-485 still pending and said she had to review the file before she can make a decision. IS THIS REALLY BAD???? I am so scared that we are going to be denied. If we are denied can we appeal???

  8. Nothing that helpful, but a lot of people from countries outside the US get false positives for some reason. Worked in HR at a place hiring a lot of foreigners and false positives were commonly seen. If it's any comfort.
    Hi,

I had a medical exam, and my TB skin test came out positive. So, I got a chest x-ray the other day and am waiting for the result. Now, I am wondering what is gonna happen if I had active TB. Do I have to take medication till everything clears out? Do I have to wait that long till I can apply for AOS? Does anyone know about this? Thanks.

I wouldn't sweat it and I have the answer for you....The TB Vaccination that is given in the US is an "inactive virus" so it normally won't show up if you are tested for TB. If you were born outside of the US and given a vaccination, it is considered an "active virus" and will always show up when you are tested. My girlfriend told me this prior to my husband's medical exam. The doctor confirmed it and said lets just see what happens instead of spending another $150 off the bat with xrays. Of course hes test came out flaming positive (his whole arm swelled up) and the xray came back negative.

So don't worry everything will be fine....

  9. I think it depends where you lived and what your status is. We live in NY. My husband and I got married then applied for the documents. In NY you can't obtain a DL License without an EAD or a SS#. He just got approved for his EAD in the begining of the month and we went straight to the SS Office and received notice it would take four weeks.

I could not put him on any joint bills or accounts unless he had a valid DL or a SS#. We had our interview on Jan 30th and while it went well we werent approved and the officer said she had to review the file further...I think it had to do with the fact that we have no joint bills but credit cards in both our names (but he is not listed on the bill).

I have read somewhere that USCIS is going to get rid of EAD completely. I guess USCIS is going to try and force that you do the fiancee visa before getting any legal docs and get rid of overstayed tourist visa immigrants that fall in love and get married in the US...
