I have also taken this approach - you get a lot of generic responses HOWEVER, it shows the consulate that you are still invested, adnd still want to see a result. So many cases show up for interview and then they are never heard from again. Once an officer DOES look at your case again and can see that you have -professionally and polietly- emailed once or twice a month shows 1) that you care about this visa and you are still dedicated 2) that you are invested in their action/approval 3) and that there is an ACTUAL HUMAN on the other side of the case number. Emailing might not be a way to get your case looked at sooner, but it is definitly a way to show investment and care.
Cant hurt, so why not?

Since it is a spousal visa case, yes, the NOID will explain. You will have an option to appeal.

I've seen couples placed into AP and eventually got approved after months. So there's definitely hope for you guys. Just that it might take some time, which you can't do anything but wait. Good luck!

stringpuller reacted to Crazy Cat in White 221g Slip No document Required
Your case is in administrative processing. That usually means extended background checks. The consulate will contact you after the AP has been completed. No actions, on your part, are required at this time.
This is quite common..

I just checked his profile and they are in the US.
I don't know anything about sending the file to other agencies.

No, we're not in AP. It's a straight forward approve after a few questions. I'm notice that the blue/pink slip already stick on the top of the files while sitting behind my spouse. Before immigrate to USA, me and my spouse are best friend in high school, then become a couple when go to college in VN. I'm moved to USA with my family. After become US citizens, I'm back to VN to getting married, then CR1 visa, then done with USCIS on January of this year.
For this situation, I'm pretty sure it will resolve really quick.

I have not looked at mine for many years, think it said in processing and probably has not changed.

Anyone else having any luck? We're in our 6th month of AP. DS5535 paper. Spoke with a few attorneys. I'm giving it another 60 days and will most likely be filing a WOM after that.

stringpuller reacted to Hassan2020 in Refused after Administrative Processing MEGATHREAD
We filed WOM after 6 months in AP, but we were out of AP within a month after filing, even before the first court hearing. So it could be due to WOM or not but filing WOM may help.

Sorry I believe this is gaslighting. I have been waiting 80 days since my interview.
Any updates on your case?

Same here. My case last updated date keep getting updated regularly but nothing came out of it. Alot of lazy bums are working at the consulate.
-
stringpuller reacted to Legend of Summer in Administrative Processing time
administrative processing is just another way to saying a big "F U" from the consulate. there is NO reason AP would take anything longer than 3 months.

No. DS-5535 requires much more background info from the beneficiary, such as 15 years of travel, residence, and employment history.

Sad that his user is no longer active. I would like an update with him.

They probably didn't keep her passport because it doesn't have enough time on it for her to leave the country. I am assuming they are going through their approval process, but will contact her to supply a new passport. You don't want them to stick her visa into a passport she can't use!

Picture shows bride in her dress being put into a Black&White cruiser. That dramatization makes the story seem a bit suspicious to me. Just saying, many things can be faked.

funny how the USA cared about this but don't care about all the illegal people from the southern borders.

No need to re-do the DS-260, unless the consulate explicitly requires the applicant to update their DS-260 info. Some applicants whose cases have been on admin processing for years were required to do so. Very unlikely that it will be required of your wife.

Certainly apply for a new passport. Copy all pages of the old one, in case you need to refer to it in the future - you can present the new one at the interview/send it in after approval, if not ready by interview.

Hello. The appointments do come up. You have to check a couple times a day. The next month seems to come up about 2-3 weeks into the previous month. 7 came up for February at one point.
It doesn't seem as hard as some say. The hard part for me is balancing air fare and app time. The embassy only gives a 4 week window it seems.
