Anyway you said “he said that it will be approved after I turn in the required documents“ which is the kind of thing a CO says when it’s just a document outstanding but the case looks fine. Of course nothing is guaranteed till the visa is printed. Good luck.

The US Embassy in India is fully aware of Indian customs and traditions.  They are also aware of a high level of marital immigration fraud from India.  
 
Gee, faulting people for working based on facts.  The US Embassy should blindly believe you because you know Indian traditions and they don't and furthermore, they should not work based on the facts.  Got it.  Yeah, that's how this all works.  

Our interview appointment was at 7:10 am.  We arrived about 6 am and stood in the 7:10 line.  I forgot my watch at home so I’m not able to give the exact times of the step by step process.
 
We start the process about 6:30 outside when my fiancé was  are asked to put her passport in a ziploc bag.  Then she were asked for the DS-160 and they looked for my fiancé’s name and put a sticker on her DS-160.  My fiancé goes thru the foreigner door and my daughter and I go thru the US Citizens side.  We sat in the chairs outside for about 5 minutes before we all got in line to go inside the Embassy.
 
Once inside we did the bag check and went to our designated area.  When it was our turn we went to the 1st pre-screen window.  The lady at the pre-screen window even asked me some questions  and I seen from the packet in front of her she had everything I mailed in our I-129f packet.  After the pre-screen we sat down a bit then my fiancé  went to the finger scan window.
 
After the finger scan we sat and waited in the interview area.  People with odd numbers on their sticker went to one side and even numbers went to the other.  When it was our turn to be interviewed the Counsular asked if our daughter was my biological daughter and if she had her US passport then he politely instructed me to sit down and if he needed anything from me then he would send for me.  I gave my fiancé a HUGE folder with a lot of supporting documents.  I sat down maybe for 2 minutes and here comes my fiancé with a HUGE smile on her face.  APPROVED!!!!  He did not ask for one piece of paper.  My fiancé said he asked her 4 questions:  was she ever married, was I ever married, what is my work and do our daughter have US Citizenship..
 
When we left the Embassy it was 8:05 am.  So the interview process took about 1 hour and we was back in time at our hotel for the free breakfast buffet, lol.

You can file for divorce by yourself. You don't need him to do that. 
 
There is pretty much nothing you can do about him and immigration. Just move on with your life, raise your daughter, and one day you will meet a better person.

I wouldnt give that lawyer another damn cent......it still looked as if u were married and that what the CO went on....yes...i agree with everyone find another lawyer who specializes in this situation

  Please see below the questions asked at the Lagos Embassy this morning as relayed by my husband;   CO: Who is calling you?  Ans: My wife and son CO: Oh, really, your son is with your wife in the U.S.? Is your son a U.S. citizen? When and how did you meet your wife? How long did you date? When did you get married? How long has your wife lived in the U.S.? When did you see your wife and son last and where? Can I see your pictures? Okay, can I also see wedding pictures? Can you point out yourself in this church photo? Congratulations, you have been approved!   He got there 5:30am and walked out 9:30am. I am glad I stumbled on VJ when I did as it kept me sane, organised and informed. I will also update up until he gets to the States. Good luck to everyone.

We are done with the medical part and waiting for the interview as it got rescheduled on 20th June due to Eid Holidays . . . counting the days.

Hi guys,
So I finally travelled to the US yesterday and got in around 9pm local time. My POE was Newark, I wasn't asked a single question , the Immigration officer took my packet, stamped my passport and welcomed me to the United States. Within 1hr I was done, the only sad part was they took my suya (😭😭😭 , my Nigerian folks would understand) the journey has been a tedious one and I'm so glad to be with my dear hubby. I wish every one success , and my prayers are with you guys. Just hang in there, it would soon be over .

Called NVC today was told they just started scheduling for the next round of appointments in CDJ/Mexico today! 

Picked my visa up today. I can finally book my flights!!

Wife's visa was approved at the Lagos, Nigeria Embassy this morning. 
 
They only asked 3 questions......
 
1. How did you meet your husband?
2. When did you start dating?
3. When did you get married?
 
Wife said they did not even ask or check any of the documents. She suggested to show the pictures album but the lady just issued the white paper for visa collection
 
Thank you VJ members. If I had found this forum earlier, this process would have taken less than the 8 months & 10 days but still thank God.

Hello Everyone , i just concluded my interview and I'm pleased to inform you all that I was approved 💃💃. The whole process has been tiring, but I give all glory to God.
So I was at the embassy by 6am and an official was already separating IV applicants from Non IV applicants. We were asked to stand on a line, open the envelope containing the medicals, bring out your confirmation page of DS 260, your appointment letter and insert in your passport. We moved past there to the main hall were we submitted the shot mentioned documents along with a copy of your marriage certificate, police report and birth certificate. We were asked to go back to the line, we were later asked to come take our finger prints  and await interview. Meanwhile don't fret if they don't call Your Number On time, numbers aren't called serially. So the interview went as follows
CO: Hello (Name)
Me: Hi Good morning 
CO: Raise your hand (took an oath to say the truth and nothing but the truth)
CO: can u tell me about your husband, how old is he, what he does. (I answered)
CO: how long have you been married, how long did u date before u married him, why did u marry him (i answered all)
CO: what kind of car does he drive, what is his shoe size, his favorite tv shows, his hobby (answered all)
CO: how can u describe the relationship with your mother in law (that threw  me off but I answered) 
Then he said my visa has been approved, I was given a white paper along with some papers  and told me my visa would be ready within some couple of days. 
It's okay if u don't know the answer to some of the questions. Just be very confident.  That was my experince at Lagos Consulate today. Feel free to ask any questions

I had CR1 Visa interview at Mumbai consulate general on 20th April , and thanks to almighty and  so much help from vj and it's members , it has been approved . 
 
My interview time was 7:30 am . However they took me in at 7am and I was out at 8:15 . 
 
It was a smooth process over all .
