Very good!. What country was this??
UPDATE:
My mother got her interview today and she was asked the following questions:
Who is the petitioner?
If she was separated from her husband?
When was the last time she saw the petitioner (me)?
When was the last time she travelled to the US?
Asked for my original birth certificate and her passport pictures
The consul said Congratulations you've been approved, pick up your passport and envelope in 10 business days and she returned a file with extra documents
They did not return the only document I needed my original marriage certificate
But I can't complaint, my mommy will be coming home soon

Glad you found the guide. The DS 3032 submission was a bit confusing for us, but we ended up having my Mom email it from my Brothers email account and we had her sign and send one to us from Kyiv earlier that we glued the case number/bar code onto. That one was mailed in the same day the email one was submitted.

Dear fellow members, wondering if any of you had documents rejected and what have you done to fix it?
I sent my dad's visa package, and 3 documents were not accepted:
- Certified copy of dad's birth certificate (issued by ZAGS - equivalent of department of vitals statistics) containing original seal and signature
- Certified copy of dad's marriage certificate (issued by the same authority as above). Both originals were lost years ago that's why we requested certified copies.
- Original Police clearance certificate with notarized translation and translator's declaration.
There is no explanation why these were not accepted. The checklist I got from NVC only contains copied and pasted instructions from reciprocity by country section on travel.state.gov which we had followed when obtaining the documents. I called NVC and was told that they can take a look second time, but it will take another 3 weeks.
Did any of you had similar experience? Wondering if I should start gathering anything else?
I would assume it is because you sent something that was not from the "original" that were lost years ago. You have some leg work to do unfortunately. If you are not getting clear answers, contact your Senator or Congress Rep and ask that their Immigration specialist help you out.

Did you give NVC operator beneficiary and petioners' emails? They usually send like info regarding your fees and attached green font PDF files from NVC. I probably received 6 emails including fee receipts.

Bad....You will possibly get a RFE whatever they request you should send it..Why to question them at this time of the process? If they ask you for a BANANA!! Just send the freaking BANANA!They just want to make sure that everything in your life is legit!You are a USC today but you got to this stage marrying somebody long time ago and they to check back on you!
Understood. If the RFE comes, I'm ready with documents and cover letter loaded in an express mail envelope.
Bad decision on my hubby's part. Oh well, we have never had an RFE before...this may be our first.

Resurrecting an old thread here:
This is something I do not understand. I am petitioning my Mother on an IR-5. What does my marital status have to do with my Mother immigrating to the states? I just sent the IV packet in WITHOUT my marriage certificate. My mother's was included as was my Fathers death certificate.
I understand the need for any IR-1/CR-1 to have this but what the IR-5?
I have my documents on standby and ready to go if need be.

That was quick. I checked the status last night and the IV Fee went through in 24 hours. Bank confirmed it too.
Sent the IV Packet to NVC Express Mail. They should have it tomorrow by noon.........we hope.
Since emailing and sending the Choice of Agent last week, we have not received ANY form of correspondence, packet, et.al. from NVC. This would include any email instructions etc. Is this normal?

Yeah! We got our NOA 2. Email notice 5/31/12. Got the paper notice yesterday. I know i am supposed to start calling for my NVC number but i think there are papers and fees to be paid too but the notice just said that the packet would be forwarded to the beneficiary. But she is only 3 so shouldn't we get them to send thestuff to us? We are heading back jul 4th for a month and would like to see if we can get theough the NVC before we leave. Any short cuts? Why do thereview the support documents here? Is this a chnage or just different from when I did the K1? I didn't have to do amything at NVC for the K1.

It is a different process from your K-1. Check the guide and also look for Ling Che's NVC Shortcut.

regular with tracking number is perfect for this process. express really is not saving any time. just costing more money

Yes it costs about 10 bucks more, yes it arrives the next day.......which I'm quite certain means it gets checked in while your package is still being mailed.
One thing to note about the IR-5 process (or IR-1/CR-1) is that it is indeed different from the standard K-1. You are actively involved in the NVC process after your wait (a much longer one at CSC than VSC I might add) and days do make a difference.

I always use FedEx or DHL for international services. The USPS is hit or miss for sure!
US Mail to Ukrainian post is "at your own risk" . Even International express USPS to Ukraine is risky.

We are at NVC currently for Mom-In-Law. We submitted our I130 back in early November and it took over 5 months for approval at CSC. VSC is like always....way ahead of the the other service centers in this regard. Bringing both parents will cost around $2000 by the time you have the translations, fees, etc completed. Make certain that your translations (where ever you have them done) have the appropriate translators statement in them. The Agency we went through in Kyiv was less than happy when my Brother In-Law vented on the lack of that statement. They tried to argue it wasn't needed......it is. Also, read the guide and the NVC shortcut. Make certain you have the ability to be the Choice of Agent as soon as the opportunity arises.

Hi,I sent my AOS package to USCIS, Chicago via USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation on 5/29, I tracked it and it was delivered 5/31...... I paid $7.05 for shipping and confirmation. When I sent our I-129 Petition I mailed it this way also and it was received with no problems.

Express is "supposedly" the most secure method with USPS and has everything you mentioned.
I'll go to Fed Ex next time.

Sent express yesterday and as of tonight they have no clue where it is at. It was supposed to be at NVC by noon today. I called and they're looking for it. If they don't find it, it will delay us at least a week.
Next time we'll use Fed Ex.

Just finished at the post office express mailing the AOS to NVC. We checked this morning and the status had changed to paid. How many days shall we expect to find the IV fee available to be paid? We emailed and express mailed the Choice of Agent on Tuesday.

Congrats LL!! We are a loooong way from letting MIL move in permanently, but she did get a five year visitor visa.
After 5 B-1 Visa denials by the consulate, we had had no alternative but to go for an IR-5 on my MIL. They are so arbitrary in they're approvals it makes me sick. So....we are at NVC now, should be Mid-August or a bit later...she'll be here.........

The questions basically will be personal ones about the petitioner and beneficiary relation...such when you move to America,if you have kids maybe the name of the kids...where do you work...if you are married...bla..bla...bla...they could ask for pictures of when you were young but is very difficult to get to something like that!! If you have a real relation with your mother she should have no problem.I don't think just a travel insurance will be enough maybe you will need a proper health insurance!Never heard of any website were you can follow NVC timelines here on VJ sometimes you find threads of NVC filers for time of the month June,July...just look around!
I've never heard of any health insurance requirement to enter the USA. This is a first.

It's currently taking around a week for NVC to accept DS-3032 by email. I don't know anyone that has snail mailed the DS-3032 in, but I'm imagining that'll take longer.
Thanks again. In the meantime since I paid the AOS invoice online, can we keep checking it's status somehow to see when to mail it in?

As luck would have it, we forgot to check our mailbox on Saturday and when I did (after my post yesterday) we found information sent to us by NVC. So, we went ahead and did BOTH today. One email from from beneficiary using the template, and I just sent the DS3032 she had fed ex'd to us a couple of weeks ago to NVC express mail.
Does anyone know how long it takes for NVC to acknowledge the DS 3032?
Thanks for the idea to just email it.
