  1. He walked up to the interviewer and was asked one question: occupation. My brother is a highly paid engineer at CloudStaff (BPO). The denial slip was already in the CO's hand as he asked the question. CO said that his employment situation was the reason for denial, but no other explanation was given. Just want to share the frustration. Oh well.
  2. What is this new policy and where can I find complete details? My Google search led to IACAT.gov.ph article with a link to a restricted Google Drive. My 74-yr-old father in the Philippines is US-bound in October. I am the US-based sponsor. What documents do we need? I'm okay with rules, but clear rules please!?
  3. any other visa renewal interview waiver applicants here? 🤔
  4. From https://portal.ustraveldocs.com/documentdeliveryoption : My parents qualify for the B1/B2 visa interview waiver so they are using the dropbox for their renewal application. Above instructions pertain to LBC dropbox use. Since we are outside Manila we will use Option2. Does it mean my parents need to pay PhP440/passport when they drop off their passports for visa interview waiver, and then they pay another PhP440 upon return delivery of passport? Or is the PhP440 for the total courier service per passport? It sounds like it's for the total service but the last sentences state that payment is collected again at delivery. So two payments or maybe no payment is collected when the passport is first dropped off?
  5. Just found her I-94 record online. Does she still need to get the passport stamps from CBP or USCIS?
  6. Is there a link to check if she has an online I-94? Can she go to a CBP at another airport? She entered LAX but now in San Diego with my sister. I can help her to CBP or USCIS in Phoenix when she visits me, but I think this has to be taken care of asap.
  7. Hi, my mother arrived safely on August 31 entering LAX on a B1/B2 visa. I asked about the CBP stamp and she could not locate it in her passport! My mother was sitting on a wheelchair when she went through immigration-- she did not see if they stamped her passport when they asked for it. The immigration officer asked her a couple questions and then said OK. Not sure why there are no stamps!!! Who should we call to get the validity of her stay and make sure she doesn't have any issues when she leaves?
  8. Yes, sadly. You don't see other countries make their outbound lawful citizens fulfill a bunch of ridiculous demands when they leave. Including the mandatory travel insurance.
  9. You mean if her departure date is tomorrow the coverage start date must be today? Why would the IO require that? Also do you know if there is a coverage amount specified? I see that the PI required incoming foreigners to show at least $35k coverage travel insurance, but can't find the amount required for outbound Filipinos.
  10. Thanks. Unfortunately my mother is not interested in becoming a permanent resident.
  11. Another very ambiguous government form. Please advise. 1) Should this be signed by the passenger before or AT check-in? "I declare that the above information are true..." seems to require passenger to have completed check-in before signing. 2) Should she provide her contact number, email, and contact person in the PI or in US? 3) Purpose of travel, essential??? are they still restricting now to essential travel only?
  12. Hi I need recommendations for travel and health insurance required by Philippine Airlines. Help please! Interested to hear from those who travelled recently. Thank you in advance. From PAL website:
  13. Gotcha. Yea this is where I read about it: https://quarantine.doh.gov.ph/frequently-asked-questions-on-international-certificate-of-vaccination-icv/ To quote the page: Q: What is an International Certificate of Vaccination or ICV? A: The International Certificate of Vaccination or ICV is a document that records an individual’s vaccinations required to travel abroad. It is recognized by member countries of the World Health Organization. Q: Is ICV mandatory for those going abroad? A: ICV is not mandatory and cannot be considered an “immunity passport.” It serves as “proof of vaccination” of an individual. Not all countries require ICV. You should contact the country you are going to to find out what their entry requirements are.
  14. Appreciate your honest opinions. On the vaccine cards, while you acknowledge them you also asked if she has proof. Yes, her country-specific vaccine card. Are you saying that is not enough proof?
  15. Thank you! For the proof of covid vaccine she has her vaccination card. I assume that will suffice (I read somewhere about the ICV but I have no idea) ? I guess I was trying to confirm that the ban on non-essential travel has been completely lifted? She does have other ties to the PH. Not playing games. She owns the home and for legal purposes it is her residence is why I think she is justified to still use the address. She definitely still use it as her mailing address for a lot of business. But the weird situation with my father and my aunts is why I raised this question. I shouldn't have used "increase our chances" as that might sound like I'm playing games. The past 2 visits were shorter and we presented a well regimented plan. How detailed and solid of an itinerary should we present now since we really are just looking forward to a long but laid-back visit. Again, thanks for your inputs!
  16. My mother's 10-year B1/B2 visa is expiring in June 2023 and I thought it would be great if she used it to visit this fall/winter. I already bought return tickets Manila-LA via Philippine Airlines. I have a few questions that I am getting mixed answers. Can you guys please advise? 1) Does she need a travel and health insurance for entry? 2) Does she need an International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV)? 3) Purpose of travel is mainly family visit and tour/sightseeing which is obviously non-essential --is this still being scrutinized by CBP? 4) The other times that she visited, she came with my father. They have since separated. Will this be an issue? Should she continue to use her past home address or her new address (my aunts') ? 5) In both of her past visits she was given the maximum 180 days max allowed, but she only stayed for 2 weeks (1st visit) and 1month (2nd visit). This time since she is retired we want to maximize her visit. How can we increase our chances of being approved for 180 days again? Her return tickets cover exactly 172 days. 6) Can she drive in the US with a foreign drivers license? Thank you everyone for all and any help!!!
