  1. Hi All,

This is my first post here and really wanted to thank everyone a BIG thanks for the wealth of info available in these forums.

For all those still waiting for there AOS. I am also waiting and have a reciept date of August 8th 2006. After getting the Request of evidence about a month later and then the Biometrics. Our case was transfered to the California Service Center on October 14th.

Since then we have heard nothing and seen no activity from CSC. Our case is still Pending??

The processing time for CSC which was updated yesterday went from Sept 14, 2006 to Sept 25, 2005 which doesnt make sense at all (for the I-485) and say's its for employment based AOS. There is no other I-485 which references K1 AOS applications.

We are concerned at this time and not sure what to do at this stage?

Anyway good luck for everyone else waiting.

Thanks in advance for anyone who might have some " words of wisdom " for me and my wife.

BTW i accidently posted this in the K1 section ealier today

Hello! I posted the same question here this morning. Im also in the waiting game & i got surprised to see the updated processing time. Lets keep our fingers crossed for some good news!

  2. Ok, so it means that we don't actually have a way to check or at least have an idea if we're in the processesing bracket? all we can hope for is to have the approval notice in our mailbox. At least looking at the processesing dates will not make me upset anymore knowing that the dates they process is way far from when we filed. Thanks!

Not really, no. Do you check online for touches/case updates?

Yes sir, i always check online for touches, sometimes 4-5x/day..... :D last touch was Jannuary 10 - but the status message is still the same - Case pending.

  3. So where do we get the ones for family based....????
The i-485 on the list for the CSC is "employment based" not "family based", therefore looking there is not relevant to our cases.

That sir is the million dollar question and one that I ask daily

  4. Hey,same here. I had my biometrics December last year,& since then we haven't heard anything. I too is getting depress already because I cannot work, I have a very good job offer but can't start. I feel so useless, can't even send some money back home. I keep on checking my email & the USCIS website trying my luck. My last touch was 1/10/2007. I can feel for your wife.....

  5. I think touched is when someone picks it up, looks at it, puts it down on the desk, takes a sip of coffee, makes a few personal calls, goes to lunch, comes back, types something in the computer, and then shoves it back in the pile.

So does it mean that eventhough you have been touched recently, they do not have any decisions yet re your case? Or does it means, that something good is coming your way - which is approval!!!???

  6. Hi! My AOS is still pending at CSC, a headhunter got me a job, which is waiting for me, but this headhunter told me to go to a local INS office & ask for a letter stating that all my AOS papers are already in the process, & that letter will help me to start working even my AOS is still in the process. We don't want to believe him for what we know is that I am not yet legally able to work while my AOS is still pending. Am i right? Does anyone knows anything about getting a letter from INS that will give you the authorization to work while your AOS is still in the process?

You need a valid EAD to work - a letter will not suffice. However, it sounds like the headhunter thinks that if you prove your papers are in progress, the company will take the risk of hiring you in the meantime.

But does really getting a letter from the INS possible?

  8. California processing time. But, don't take it to heart...those dates aren't always accurate.

Actually the I-485 processing time at the CSC is only for employment-based applications. They still have not added a section with the processing times for family-based applications. Unfortunately, as of this time, there is no date to use as a guideline for CSC AOS transfers.

You mean to say that I-485 is only for employment based applications? Don't they have a different case for employment which is the EAD? I asked this questions because there's a big difference between CSC processing time & my district office processing time,so that make me so clueless if our case is within the processing time.

  9. Im just confused, does the processing time based on one's district office or one's Service center? Like we filed our AOS & sent them to the Chicago lockbox, then it was transferred to missouri service center then was transferred to california service center. We live in Baltimore & had my biometrics in baltimore. If i wanted to look for processing times to know if our case is already within their processing time, where should i base everything? should i based it with the california service center processing time or the district office?
