For financials this is all you need.

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT. You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or be a burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions – English (February 2014)  Page 3 of 9 with original signature will be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You should also submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134.

There really isn't much out there for your Embassy and interview. I did find this link. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html

Contact the Embassy when you get your case number.

There is another couple from the Phil with your same timeline and they just got their approval on Friday. Your's is right around the corner. I am going to give you some tools that will help you watch the timelines of others from the Philippines.

There are several tools available to you. Go up to Immigration Timelines on the blue ribbon above and select it. Once you are on the next page looked to your left and you will see a box that states, "find similar timelines" and select it. A list will populate with those who are processing close to your timeline. When they start to change you will soon be behind them.

Also, there is another place you can go and follow others who are processing the same time you are and for the same Embassy. Go to the blue ribbon at the top of this page and select "portals". Scroll down the left-hand side of the page till you get to VJ "your country's name" Timelines. Just below it you'll see "K-1" so you select it and out pops a window with others from your country.

Do you guys have your NBI Clearance? Have you looked over your documents for spelling errors or wrong dates? Does the beneficiary have enough time in her passport to make the trip. Needs at least 6 months but I recommend more than a year. If not you need to get the passport renewed before the interview. Does the BC match the Passport name? These are but a few of the "gotchas" for the Philippines Embassy.

Once you receive your case number it's time to be in charge of what time you choose when things get done. To smooth that trail for you I have a few things that will help you process your visa there in the Philippines.

Start by visiting Hanks site where he has taken the time and research, and of course it helps if you spent 8 plus years helping folks in the Philippines sub-forum get their visas, where he has listed each step. With those steps he includes the what, when and why to completing the item. Many have used the website and have had little or NO problems securing a visa from USEM.

    http://www.visaconnection-philippines.com/k-1-visa-application.html

Next you'll want to connect with those who are processing through the Philippines in the VJ Philippines sub-forum that way you will be with like minded ppl who are sharing their experiences and also asking and answering questions. Since most in this thread are processing through another country they would be hard pressed to explain what is needed for the Philippines.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

You'll find this on Hank's website but I will give it to you early and that is the Packet 3 Letter for USEM. It's found here:

    https://ph.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Here is the Packet 3 letter.

There you have it. Everything you need to get your visa. Good luck and smooth sailing.

Have you filled out your timeline yet? It's a good way to get estimates of when you can expect the next step (the NOA2) to come, and it adjusts itself based on information from other VJers.

    Hey everyone!

    Another March filling couple here

This all process has giving me so anxiety, but reading this forum really helps. I want to thank everyone for all the positivety and good advice they share arround here.

We got our NOA1 on the 19th, now we just need to wait and hope that we don't get a RFE! There is still a long away ahead of us, but this first step made us even more sure we want to do this together!

Now I'm focusing on my next visit to the U.S. for my birthday next month

    Good luck to everyone!

Ana_and_Derek reacted to SanjivJivan in 221g Confusion - Where is my fiance's case??
Each country is different. Even though Nepal and India are similar culturally, Indian law makes a religious ceremony a marriage while Nepal does not. Granted in both countries getting married at the age of 14 with a ceremony is all too common, though perfectly illegal.

In my case, I read that it was okay to have done unofficial rites/marriage during the petition stage, and wrote very clearly and honestly that we already had a religious ceremony and in my mind considered it excellent proof of being a bona fide couple. I wrote that in the petition and during the consular phase. I did my best to research things, but as mentioned before, at that stage I had really limited internet access. I never thought about it again, since the petition was approved, and I had stated it there. Like I said, I learned about it being a problem the day of the interview when the consular officer said you are already married and refused the visa. I searched online and of course a million results came up. I don't have any illusions about it now, and was here to ask a question about 221g, not religious ceremonies, but I do think it is definitely worth having a discussion about.

I think it's a very easy mistake to make, actually, because the law is the law and religion is religion usually. Is a baptism the same as a birth certificate? Does giving a eulogy for a loved one give you access to their bank account? The K1 visa sees the religion and law as more interrelated, and I totally understand that, especially when some nations do legally recognize marriage without paperwork. But I do NOT think it is intuitive, it's just that it seems obvious if you have already heard about denials based on this issue.

My fiance and I mailed on the same day with you! And we made the package ourselves without attorney. Now I’m guessing that we are likely getting NOA1 early next week.
So, fingers crossed for every March filers! And hopefully the process will get faster

I just mailed our packet this morning. I'm nervous and excited and a bit relieved that this part is over.

We assembled our packet by ourselves with no attorney, so it was somewhat stressful, wringing our hands over ambiguities with the I-129F. I think we've filled it out the best that we can, so fingers crossed that it gets accepted!
