    Flights

I am flying out on the 30th of May and booked a one way ticket with TC for £349! (I had to make sure there wasn't a catch like my seat was going to be strapped to the wing of the plane or the pilot's knee.) If you prefer you could still do the round trip with a bigger/better airline and just cancel the return leg a few days upon arrival. If you actually want to fly back for a short visit once you have your Greencard, you could chance it and potentially have a flight already waiting for you. It is probably wishful thinking but there is a slim chance it might play out that way! If it doesn't, once again just cancel. P.s flight schedule change is highly likely for flights booked so far in advance. This opens up the possibility of a refund if you choose to not accept the "unfortunately unsuitable" change proposed. I discovered that by accident with VA (of course review all TOCs before purchasing anything from anyone). Congratulations and good luck.

    Letter for Depression

A letter from your counselor should be adequate. If for peace of mind you still wanted a medical letter from your GP, especially one from one that doesn’t know you (as was the case with me) consider providing them with this outline and a note explaining your history in your own words and how you are currently feeling. It might provide some helpful insight to an otherwise reluctant GP. This is the outline I provided My GP with as the basis for my letter: Diagnosis? Treatment? Duration of treatment and illness? Any prior or subsequent mental health or illness? Have there been any incidents of self harm, harm to others or suicide attempts? What is the prognosis and your opinion of the patients mental state. Is she a risk to herself or to others? Use your appointment time to discuss your history and current mental state and explain that these questions need to be addressed in the letter. Sometimes spoon feeding is the best approach. It certainly worked for me. Good luck deary.

    NVC Pre Embassy

You do not need to wait for packet 3 as you already have your case number which is essentially what the packet 3 contains. Go ahead and complete your Ds-160 if you haven't already and book your medical A medical letter is only needed in addition to your patient summary if you have a history of mental illness or any significant medical conditions More details are available on the visa medical site http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm Good luck.
  5. Yes, the next step for you would be preparing for your medical. The medical itself is a breeze! Just be sure to go prepared. The website tells you what you will need to take with you and what to expect http://www.visamedicals.co.uk

    Visa Status on CEAC Question

Ignore that message, it's not the case for the K1. Once the status has changed to ready you can go about scheduling your interview, it generally takes a few days for status to change but can vary.
  7. Your case number is all you need. I believe IIN is for the CR-1 visa. You can now use your case number to sign up to the CEAC website and complete your Ds-160. You will need to print the confirmation page and take it with you to your interview which you need to schedule after undergoing your medical. https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/
  8. I have very recently had my medical at Knightsbridge and they did indeed ask for my patient/medical summary which they asked to keep. It might not mention it on the UK embassy website but it does on the actual visa medical site : http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm and in the instructions they send to you once your medical appointment has been booked and confirmed. The process of signing up to a new GP will generate a medical summary/history albeit a short one as it typically includes the results of the simple health check and basic medical questionnaire. It's not worth the hassle turning up without the required documents as they will most likely hold off processing your medical, which makes an already drawn out process all the more tedious. Good luck

    Knightsbridge medical completed!

I probably should have mentioned that! Good thinking, I did the same thing as I wasn't sure how long it would take getting the medical letter (took two weeks). I rang up on the 16th of February and I was booked in for my medical on the 20th (same month) I rang early in the morning and was on hold for 20 minutes. The last post I saw indicated March is still pretty much open for both medicals and interview appointments.

Patient Access Medical Record for Knightsbridge

You don't need your complete medical records for Knightsbridge just the summary. And printing off your patient summary care yourself is fine.

    Knightsbridge medical completed!

That sounds about right even though I can't see how being a locum has any bearing on anything. Paying for a medical letter is usually standard practice and will vary from surgery to surgery. I paid £15 for mine. When is your medical?
  12. I had my medical yesterday at Knightsbridge’s and my experience echos the positive accounts shared by other users. It’s nowhere near invasive as one would imagine and the people working there really are lovely. One thing that really made the experience an easy one (other than turning up with everything they asked for) was the medical letter I acquired from my GP regarding my long history of depression and agoraphobia. The physician conducting the medical assessment remarked that the letter was excellent and provided all the necessary information. The only question I was asked was if I had received counselling to which my answer was no, I wasn’t questioned any further. If you need a medical letter from your GP especially from one that doesn’t know you (as was the case with me) consider providing them with this outline and a note explaining your history in your own words and how you currently feel. It might provide some helpful insight and gives them something to refer to once you have left. This is the outline I provided the GP with as the basis for my letter: Diagnosis? Treatment? Duration of treatment and illness? Any prior or subsequent mental health or illness? Have there been any incidents of self harm, harm to others or suicide attempts? What is the prognosis and your opinion of the patients mental state. Is she a risk to herself or to others? I used my appointment to discuss my history and current mental state and explained that these questions needed to be addressed in the letter which they were and she even included parts of the note which I wasn’t expecting. I know it won’t guarantee the same results but it helped me and the Knightsbridge physician’s reaction made it feel worth sharing. 🤓
  13. I am planning on using Thomas Cook when the time comes as they do one way flights for cheaps and mostly because I dont want to get blacklisted by Virgin😊. Manchester to Orlando (premium economy direct) in my case is £429.
  14. Hey everyone, another March Hare here. I love this place, it has already helped me so much and I am feeling the camaraderie . We received our NOA1 yesterday after filing on the 12th . I am hoping the giddy feeling lasts otherwise I am going to end up eating my own bodyweight in chocolate this Easter.
