  1. Good luck :thumbs::thumbs:

While in Montreal Schwartzs Delecatessen up on St. Laurent BLVD. is a must place to go to.

If you have the time drop in for the best smoked meat sandwich you can ever get.

  2. Hm I don't know, Never filed for EI never had to but I suppose I would have to ask my former employer for an ROE and well as I stated issues about my T4 which she refuses to send ( still ) I bet the same thing would happen with her sending an ROE lol.

Well sounds like it already is the same as the T-4, because actually by law they are suppose to issue a copy of your ROE to you and send one onto the EI Commission

  3. Iv worked tons of retail jobs and never gotten anything like that from them, only gotten T4s

When one files for EI they have to have the ROE. Also if they were deducting EI from your pay they would have to issue you this Record Of Employment showing your Insurable earnings and the number of hrs/ worked.

I know I'm straying from your original post about the T-4 not being issued. Just suggesting a possible way you can find out what your income earnings were.

I do agree with Kathryn, sure sound like there's something under the table going on at that place

  4. you need to read the reviews and uscis guidelines on what the medical is..i'ts not a real medical. they just want to make sure you dont have any communicable diseses etc.

hate to say this to ya but alot of your questions are easily answered by looking at most of the posts on the forums btw. some ppl get easily offended at repeating the same stuff lol

it's a lot faster to just ask the question. There's a lot of reviews to read and sometimes the review postings are similar but not direct.

How many times has it been asked about visiting, bringing a vehicle, EI questions and many

more. It's common to ask the same question, this is all a new experience for people.

IWhen I first started here I asked many questions which no doubt were answered previously.

When I had my medical it was definately a real medical not just an in the office and out.I was thoroughly checked before my x-ray and bloodwork.

To the original poster ask all the questions you wish. I'm sure you'll get a reply no matter how often it may have been previously asked and answered

  5. You had better look into getting the code they have listed corrected. I think they have your shoplifting in the wrong coding. A 345 is listed as mail theft

Below is what a 345 is in the Canadian Criminal Code

    www.efc.ca/pages/law/cc/cc.html

Part IX -- Sections 321-378 Robbery and Extortion

    343. ROBBERY.

    344. PUNISHMENT FOR ROBBERY.

    345. STOPPING MAIL WITH INTENT.

    346. EXTORTION / Punishment / Saving.

  6. If you're coming to WA. you don't need to take another driver's test because you're from BC.

If you are coming to WA. from another Province then you must take the whole driver's test routine ( written and road)

As Charles stated above all States have their own rules on obtaining a driver's license

  7. CNDgirlMI is correct.

I did the same paperwork where it speaks about an individual ( legal alien importing a firearm to the US. You simply fill out the Application form ATF Form6- Part1 (5330.3A) Application and Permit for Importation of Firearms Ammunition and Implements of War

You do not require the services of a licensed gun dealer nor the services of an importer.

Below is clause 8 which CDNgirlMI refers to. Fill out the application and simply mail it. They'll send you it back with an approval stamp along with the form you fill out to clear US. Customs

    DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY

BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO AND FIREARMS

APPLICATION AND PERMIT FOR IMPORTATION OF FIREARMS,

    AMMUNITION AND IMPLEMENTS OF WAR

NOT FOR USE BY MEMBERS OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES

    (Submit in triplicate)

    INSTRUCTION SHEET FOR ATF F 6 PART I (5330.3A)

(Detach this instruction sheet before submitting your application)

    8. A nonresident U.S. citizen returning to the United States or a nonresident

alien immigrating to the United States, from a permanent

residence outside of the United States may complete and forward the

enclosed ATF F 6 Part I permit application without having to utilize the

services of a federally licensed firearms dealer. The nonresident

should include a statement, either on the application form or on an

attached sheet, that the firearms are being imported for his personal

use and not for resale and that he is a nonresident U.S. citizen

returning to the United States, or is a nonresident alien immigrating to

the United States. The firearms must accompany the nonresident on

entry into the United States, since once he is in the United States, and

has acquired residence in a State, he may not directly import a

firearm. If the firearms do not accompany him, either handcarried or in

his baggage (accompanied or unaccompanied), he must engage the

services of a federally licensed firearms dealer in his State of

residence to import the sporting firearms (excluding surplus military)

    for him.

    Just to refresh:

In my earlier posting on page 1 I gave you an address. That address was for the branch office which handled my application approval.

You must send your completed ATF Form6- Part1 (5330.3A) Application and Permit for Importation of Firearms Ammunition and Implements of War

    To this address:

    12. The application should be submitted approximately 60 days prior to

the intended importation. All copies shall be submitted to:

    Director

Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms

    Washington, D.C. 20226

Attention: Firearms and Explosives Imports Branch

    13. Any questions concerning the application should be referred to the

Imports Branch at the above address or telephone (202) 927-8320.

  9. I'm not going to go into details for your benefit. But for some people, they keep in touch outside the scope of this website through email, facebook and phone calls. Some people have made real friendships through this website. Sometimes, real drama bleeds onto the internets.

    So right :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

  10. Just for anyone else reading this, this isn't correct. K-1 is not a 90 day work authorization. You still have to send a copy of the I-94 and the K-1 visa, but you can't get EI with a K-1 until you send them a copy of your EAD.

Yes this is correct the K-1 isn't a 90 day work permit. I said I wasn't positive on that and went and rooted out my paper work from when I got my EI

The reason I thought that is, when I came through Halifax they stamped my EAD on the K-1 and in my Passport.

Sorry if I added confusion to your situation

  11. Not positive as my memory isn't so hot on some things lol but I think when I came here on the K-1 Visa I had to send them a copy of the Visa as it ( the K-1) acted as proof that I was eligible to work here for up to 90 days and also that I had used it to become a resident until I file for my GC

I apologize if this info isn't correct and Im sure someone else will chirp in with an answer for you
