    n8blogg got a reaction from Alix64 in I-751 April 2022 Filers
I just received my notification a little bit ago, so it looks like I can stop worrying now haha. I had to check the dates again, it looks like mine was actually received there on 4/21, so it actually only took about a week and a half for the notification.

We received a letter letting g us know they are rescheduling for us. No date yet.  I mailed letters to both the local office and national, as well as called.

No worries, thank you for braving the waters before me😁

    ***UPDATE***

We received a letter to let us know that our interview date has been changed, we now have an interview scheduled for January 23. Very excited to see that they were willing to work with us on this as it's been a point of stress for several weeks. My wife and son got back December 18 and we had a wonderful Christmas here in the states. 😊 Now, just need to make sure we have everything ready for the interview.

Yes, I was able to chat w a rep there, I consider myself very lucky for having been able to do so. This office is relatively near Trolley Square, 660 south 200 east. I will make sure to update this once I hear back on the rescheduling. Thanks again for your help and replies to my questions .

It is odd that a child can be taken out of the country without both parents consent, but Philippines has a high number of illegitimate children born there.  It used to be about 4 out of 10 kids were born out of wedlock, latest figures I see in 2017 is 53% total registered live births in 2017 were born out of wedlock.

No.  The one year follow to join is for issuance of the Visa (afterthe k1 is issued).   Once the visa is issued it is subject to the same 6 mos. from medical expiry

He needs the interview, medical for the visa.  He is too young for the Police Clearance and CFO.  A US based power of attorney should be enough to get you in to accompany his interview.

Carry over from your other post, if you can get a notarized letter for the Embassy and Immigration from the father, since he has the father's last name.

I'd suspect you won't be able to bring him unless his mother accompanies him which I remember she is still awaiting the AP.

The two critical things are - getting the visa before the one year expires (based on her K1 approval date)  and traveling before that visa expires.  A K2 follow to join then has up to a year to travel if my memory is correct.

I highly recommend that you work with @Hank_ as he has many years of helping those  with K1 and K2's from the PI. He can help you with the documents that you'll for the interview and what is needed to take the child with you to the US. He understands what needs to be done.

Ha yeah, NOT waiting is not a thing there. I agree, I'm guessing the immigrations area of the airport will be the sticking point in all of this. Not a bad idea to have her contact immigration there, as with all things in this scenario, better safe than sorry. Thanks for the input!

Agree with what others have said about contacting the Phil embassy to start his paperwork going. Suggest you ask them for guidance on travel documentation you (non-parent, adult) and the child will need to have to exit the Phils and successfully enter the US, without incident. Another possible source of info about documentation  may be the airline that you intend to use, suspect that they see this situation a lot.
Here is a general DOS link about kids with K2- to follow: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/family-immigration/nonimmigrant-visa-for-a-fiance-k-1.html#15

Good luck on your immigration journey.

You need a K-2 visa before you can take him anywhere.
His will have to do musical and interview and all that.
Contact the embassy and say you are ready to do the K-2 visa and they should guide you from there but you are in a hurry if you need him here by August.

*he will have to do medical

I used the http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guideand their example cover letter. I met briefly with a lawyer who suggested some changes. He wanted me to only list the forms on the cover sheet. He said to put the beneficiary's G-325a first, but the guide says the petitioner should be first. Then move everything else to a second page, hand number the bottom of every single page, and then include the page numbers behind each one.
Example... Birth certificate (12) Marriage certificate (13) Divorce Decree (14-35) I have no problem doing what is necessary. I also get that they are probably okay with either or on some of it. I will number the pages and include a more detailed table of contents if I need to. I think he does things more extensively, which is fine since he gets paid a lot for it On the other hand, I do not want to seem lazy. Appreciate input Thank you!! I-129F Cover Letter
