I believe that's just a glitch as they process K1s as IV (when they do provide the date) when they are actually NIV.  Ours says the same thing and we scheduled the interview ourselves days ago.  So I know they didn't provide us with a date.

Your interview date should be provided to you by your embassy, not the NVC

That is a standard email you received. You can ignore it as either you or your Embassy schedules the appointment. You'll need to read the instructions that your Embassy will send you once they receive your case.
 
Up on the blue ribbon on this page there is a tab titled "portals". Select it and search for your Embassy. Once there, you'll see information about the process at your embassy. Be aware of the date of the information as at times they can get stale. When you get a copy of the Packet 3 from your embassy if you could scan and send me a copy as I like to share this information with others who like you are processing through BH Embassy. Just PM me and I will supply a email address where to send. Thanks and good luck.
 
Be careful as not all Embassy's schedule the beneficiary's interview appointment as some allow beneficiary to schedule after payment. According to the portals tab he/she will schedule their appointment.

My case finally left the NVC today. It says.. and where do I check my interview date??
"Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center. " 
 
 

Yes that is normal. It's what everyone is reporting here in this thread. It can take 2-4 weeks before your Embassy will confirm that receipt of your case and change your status to 'ready'. More Patience. 

I'm not sure what the protocol is for Bosnia but I'm sure if you look up your country's portal you will find your embassy's procedure.

Mine sat "at NVC" for a week too. I wouldn't worry about it. Trust it will change to "in transit" soon and if you're lucky (and your embassy is electronic processing) it will only take a day to become "ready" and a few days if they courier it to your embassy.

Don't worry..it will soon be in transit. Just call and ask for their time limits 

Fiance called today, we had our approval show as 4th May online and 3rd May on NOA2. They received our case yesterday and we now have a case number! 
 
Got my ACRO (police report) today too. Looks pretty nifty...
 
Looks like August wedding is not gonna be stunted. Just moving date a little later than expected!

NVC recieved our case and assigned our number today!

Hey everyone! Hope your weekend is going well! 
Fiance submitted his ds160 today. Waiting for nvc to give us the case number and send it to consulate in islamabad! Hopefully things will go smoothly. 
And hopefully things are going smooth for you all!!

There is no "official" requirement for filing the DS-160 but to have it ready before the interview.  There is nothing stopping you from completing it once you have your NOA2. If it where me I like to get things "off my desk" as soon as I can and be done with it.

Call after 2 weeks after your noa2.
The rest may depend on your embassy, you can usually make an appointment for medical at least and depending on the embassy you can schedule the interview (waiting till “status is ready is recommended)

As everyone already said; they want the long form birth certificate or copy passport (all pages) 
 
we used short version + copy of all pages from petitioners passport and was ok.

Thanks for the help. I was just confused because he said he was going to send in the same one again and I am worried we will again get an RFE.

The site updated 04/05/2018 and I got the hard copy today. 

I got an RFE to prove that I am a US Citizen and my birth certificate but I already did that when I filed. 

Some states have a long form and a short form version, you want to make sure you get the long form version. You should be able to get it from the county clerk where you were born.
