Just received a notification that a new card is being produced...my status never changed to approved. I guess we just have to wait and see when the card gets here. No tracking number was provided.

    Hey everyone,

I saw that there was no spreadsheet for June filers so I made one. I am an April filer so I had created a spreadsheet for April. Then I added a new tab for May and now added another tab for June. Feel free to add your information here and keep other fellow June filers updated: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uJwpaHzGIuuvbVMXK5h-F8KH3hCh88kMxpxC4uOJOk8/edit#gid=1410126665

    Good luck to you all!
I created one, link in my signature. Good luck!

Hi everyone. So I got my interview on May 31st, 2019. The interview went fine, but I got a request for additional evidence for my medical. I had my complete medical in London in February 2018 and submitted it with my I-485 application. The officer said I need to get a new one, as it's been more than 1 year since I had it done and it's now expired. He said that after they receive the new medical he'll approve us.
So heads up if you are in the same boat. Check your medical and do a new one before your interview.

I just passed my written test for the driving license last week. I recommend two apps: 'DMV' and 'DMV Genie' from Google play store. Both have a red background

May filer here. I received my EAD after 125 days. The green card interview will normally take place after you receive your work permit, unless you live in a city where the local office is moving really fast.
You can check the processing times on the USCIS website, just search by the location where you had your biometrics taken.
    Good luck!

My card was in production on 9/19 and mailed on 9/21. So a few days in my case. Did not receive the tracking number, though.
    Hope this helps.

And just an advice for your biometrics: they don't mention it in the appointment letter, but if you changed your family name, take your marriage certificate with you. They will ask for it. (appointment is for married name, but your passport is still in your maiden name)

The MSC is for the National Benefits Center. They will process the EAD and the AP. Your I-485 will eventually be transferred to your local office, but the rest stay at NBC.
    Good luck!

Don't worry. It took me 3 weeks as well. One thing you can do is to check if they cashed in the money for the fees.
As for proof that I did send the paperwork, I used to carry the receipt with the tracking number from the post office (just in case someone asked, but they never did). I also called USCIS and asked what should I do bc my I-94 was about to expire and I didn't have my NOA-1. Luckily for me, when I called they gave me my WSC numbers.
Good luck, and prepare for the long wait.

Hi. May filer here. Thought I pop in and see if I can help.
One more thing you should add to your packages is a cover letter for the entire package and also a list of the attached documents for each form. Also, make sure you separate each application. Your EAD will stay at NBC, but your AOS package will go to your local office. Any questions, feel free to ask. I will try my best to answer them.
    Good luck!

Update on June 27th: I-485 marriage based AOS Initial Interview experience at Kansas City field office was positive.
    ==================================
Experience: Arrived at USCIS field office parking lot at 7.45am for Appointment at 8.15am. There were 15+ cars, so thinking there could be a big line in parking lot we decided to go inside the office. The security officer checked the appointment notice, and after xray scanning our document folder told us to proceed to adjoining waiting room and submit papers on the window marked as 'Interview'. They were very polite and did not give us any hard time. There were many people already seated in the waiting room, however most of them turned out to be ASC appointment candidates as the opposite room for Biometrics did not open till 8am. At 8.15am an AO called me by my name, so I went ahead to greet him 'Good morning' and to indicate to him that my US Citizen wife (petitioner) is here with me as well. AO asked me and my wife to accompany him to interview room. The sequence of events is as below:

    1) Told us to stand, raise right hand and swear under oath that we will tell only the truth.
    2) Scanned first page of IDs (passports) of me and my wife. Then flip through passport pages as both of us had tourist visas, stamps from many countries from prior business/vacation related travel.
    3) Opened my I-485 form, took a photograph, fingerprinted my index fingers, asked my full legal name, DOB, POB, mailing address. I mentioned that we had bought a new house recently and that I had filed a form AR-11 electronically, I also handed him its printout with confirmation number assigned by USCIS, to which he checked on his computer to verify change of address and made a note in the I-485 paper form to use new updated address. Then asked my parents name and if I have any siblings in U.S.
    4) Asked my wife her full legal name, DOB, POB, qualification, job and how she got her US Citizenship.
    5) Asked details about marriage : date, place, if I have any kids, if it was my first marriage, etc.
    6) Asked series of 40+ questions that are under general inadmissibility and criminal background. All of them were answered "No" except for the prior Visa denials which I had checked as "Yes" as my F1 visa was denied in first attempt, so he asked about the denial reason and if I was able to get it later. I told him that I was denied due to insufficient financial proof and that later I was able to get same type visa in second attempt after showing fund allocation in bank statements. Also mentioned about the Masters degree from US university that I got under that F1 visa. It was more than 16 years ago so he did not ask more and just made a note about the university and degree I got.
    7) Asked me when and how I met my wife.
    8) Asked my wife: how many times we met in person before marriage, and on which visa / passport she traveled to meet me. She also mentioned about the two vacation trips we had prior to marriage. He did not ask for any paper proof though. It was all front-loaded evidence as part of initial application.
    10) Asked if we have paperwork of our new house and joint accounts as husband and wife. So we handed him Title company statement, Utility bills, Auto Policy, Health Insurance, Joint account bank statements, etc which had both our names. He was glad to see that we had originals and already made copies as part of interview preparations.
    11) AO took a minute to check form I-485 if he had additional questions to ask about my case, then said that our file looks complete and that he will recommend my case for approval. He indicated that official approval is pending and I'll get auto notified if I have subscribed to SMS and email alerts. Also mentioned that if I am approved in system then I'll get card in about two weeks and it will be a conditional card with 2 year expiry that is good for work and travel. And that I have to remember to apply 90 days before expiry using form I-751 with evidence to remove the conditions.

From all prior posts in VJ it is known fact that Kansas City FO does not do on the spot approvals, and that they approve in system after 3 to 4 days, which is what was noticed by us as well. Overall it was a short and easy interview and feel lucky to get an AO who seemed to have a general happy-go-lucky attitude.

Online status got updated in about an hour after interview. Got and SMS and email about case status update. The My Case status website update just says: "You attended your interview and we are reviewing your case".
I'll keep you guys posted on status update messages that I see in system as FYI.
    ====================================
All the best to all you guys for your interview.

Focus on concrete evidence of bona fide marriage. Photos weigh the least. I realize you do not have EAD/AP.. Since you're adjusting from B2 you also do not have a SSN. However, you can still get a joint checking account by walking into a branch. If you're not on the lease or mortgage, you can present a notarized affidavit of residence. When people don't really have proof of a physical address, they may use a document like this one to get a driver's license.
You can also get an advanced health care directive and designate each other as advocates to make health care decisions in case one of you is unable to. USCIS takes that document very seriously. Here's a link https://www.aarp.org/caregiving/financial-legal/free-printable-advance-directives/

Personally, I don't mind that much the wait for the green card. That depends on the local office. But the EAD/AP are all processed at NBC, and almost 6 months of waiting, instead of 3 months, is just ridiculous. Not all of us can get a job offer to expedite the process. Why the delay?
I guess I am just venting out. It's hard to sit around when you're used to have a daily job.
