Hi there, in flying on Tuesday and my flight is to NY but my POE will be in atlanta , since I have a connection there. I understand your fear, South Americans has this scar of people going to US illegally, even with the best intentions we can't avoid to be nervous. But I'll not hide my true intentions, my only reason of going there is to see my fiance, it's not a holiday trip. And I would advise you to do the same, since they can be testing if you are telling the truth, if they already know you have a K1 application. I
 
And yes, just say if asked, and always the truth, that's the plan 😃 with a return ticket!

I've been to the US numerous times but given my situation and the country I'm from, I expect a lot of questions and skepticism - everyone is literally running from Venezuela and staying in the US illegally/applying for political asylum due to the current political & economic instability . I have a friend that works at the embassy and he suggested that I say I'm visiting some friends and never mention the word fiance. The thing is that if further questioning takes place, I'm assuming they might see the k1 visa application and that's a risk I'm not willing to take...or they might think I'm planning on staying illegally with those friends. Honestly, I feel much more comfortable telling the truth because I'm doing everything the right way and I have proof I'm returning back home. However, I'm sticking to the plan of not volunteering any specific information unless asked (e.g., purpose of your visit? "pleasure/vacations" if they specifically ask who am I visiting then I'll mention my fiance  and the k1 visa)

I went to visit my fiance in the USA after my NOA1, they just asked me regular questions (purpose of visit and timings) and it was fine. I didn`t have job at that time too, but I had a ticket back home. Don`t worry and be confident, you are just going to visit your loved one!

I really strongly recommend not mentioning anything about staying with friends and just saying you’re going to visit your fiancé while you wait for your K1 approval. Have a return flight, tell the complete truth and good luck!

Hello all...june filer...i would like to give some information to you guys....if you put current address in i129-f,and that is not where you want your case to go..and you want it to go to a diffrent embassy.please change it at USCIS,before your case gets to nvc..once at nvc they will send to the address listed as your current ADDRESS..please don't go though what were going through 

I have decided to go see Rose and the kids in April no matter if USCIS responds or not. I can’t let this wait hurt my chances to be with my family. It will mean less money and less vacation time when they get to the states but it means I get to be with them sooner. 

A wee update: we got married last night!  A simple ceremony downtown and dinner afterward - in the middle of a snowstorm, my fiancé's first (he's a fan already!)   We'll go file the license tomorrow, pick up our marriage certificate, and then hopefully get the AOS documents sent off tomorrow or Thursday.  

You guys.. I just got the email. They sent out an RFE today.

Im head to The United States all done.... After 9 days following my embassy interview my visa is finally in hand.... i'm so happy and excited! I'll be arriving in Florida this Saturday afternoon.... praise the lord!

There's a September 5 approval toooo
 
I am running two scans at once 

This week in numbers;
 
This week August came as far as Received date 29th of August.
However, 2 days of this week was RFE only dates, so there were no Approval updates.
As we confirmed before too, these dates (and even dates where we saw updates online) usually means most approvals were/going to be mail only.
 
August is going stronger than any other month so far, giving me some hope that things will only get better (even if it is not by too much or too fast) from here on.
However always keep in mind, things can change so fast, and anything can happen during this process.
NVC backlog was a mystery for us and it happened suddenly, yet ended up eating 2 months of those approvals.
And things such as AP or anything on the way can also cause a backlog.
 
My advice is not make firm/unchangeable wedding plans.
 
On another note,  I saw about 10 withdrawals in the month of September during the past week.
The same movement happened one week before August started.
My guess is they are first updating those that will not get adjudication due to being withdrawn...
So September next week??
I personally can't wait!

I feel you but don't be scared! I'm on the same boat and I'm a December filer . I truly hope you get your NOA2 soon and be with your fiancee before the elections!!  

I wonder about those who post here from Venezuela, how you are doing.. I'm glad for you to be getting out. And my heart goes out to those still there, still fighting. Wishing the best for you and your loved ones and the country as a whole. 

Believe me if I didn't see the numbers going in front of my eyes I would be debating if it is the received date or notice date still

But as I am already 1 hour late to work(I don't really care) I will cut it and won't restart for now.

Thanks ! You are so right! Certainly, sacrificing wedding budget is totally worth it...

My fiancé’s is the same. Skype everyday but texts not so great. I just communicated with him and told him that texts mean a lot to me (he’s not one for messaging), but I tried to explain that for me they are important so that’s helped. We also watch Netflix together (Skype while we watch) and play games together. I’ve found those things help a lot.

I just want you to know that what your feeling is perfectly normal. I’m fortunate that my fiancé works from home, so makes the 8 hour time difference more tolerable! 
 
I know I seen him last month in the beautiful Dublin, I’m heading to Canada in few weeks and debating a trip to the US and pre-clearing in Dublin (only a train ride away). 
 
Work has been pretty slow but I’ve signed up for volunteering. The best thing is to keep yourself busy and take a step back from this process! Don’t lose sight as to why exactly your doing the process. I have a special box of memories from countries we’ve travelled and sentimental things that I pull out when I miss him unbearably.  
 
Ive always thought, ‘how are other people doing’-everyone struggles from time to time and some people may not confess this but it’s a fact of course on balance of probability! It’s hard too at times to confide in others as they don’t understand the feelings of emotions or process. So what I’m trying to say is: definitely book a wee trip (if budget allows), keep the faith, the K1 process has an end, know that you will be together by Christmas and look forward to how much your life is going to change! ❤️

Hello December family! How are you doing? I was wondering how are you guys dealing with the wait... it's been almost three months since I last saw my fiance and I'd like to know how you are coping with this process. I'm trying to focus on the end result but some days are rough for sure. I skype with my fiance daily, however he is not the best at texting 24/7 and that creates problems. We thought we'd be able to wait until NOA2 to see each other, but we don't know how long this will take so maybe we'd sacrifice part of the wedding budget just to spend some time together...  
 
I'd love to know more about your experiences so far!
