    I filed my N400 06/01/2021 with a pending
I - 175 which I filed since January 2020 but was ready to be scheduled for interview. I was expecting a combo interview since my N400 is at "We are actively reviewing your case". But fortunately my I-175 updated from "A new card is being produced" on 10/22/21 to "Case is Approved" on 10/25/21 without any interview. Right now I'm waiting for the card in my mail. Hopefully my N400 interview be scheduled ASAP.... ✌️✌️✌️

I would file for citizenship as soon as you are eligible.  We filed my wife's I-751 in March 2019......still waiting for an interview in the Dallas area.

Hi Guys! I got my approval today. Here is my timeline:
    MSC filler
    NOA1 Received- 05/22 ( MSC)
    Biometric letter received - 08/16
    Bio Appointment- 08/27
Status Changed to " Fingerprint Review Completed" - 08/28
Status Changed to " Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" - 08/29
Status Changed to " Interview was scheduled" - 08/30
    Interview Date - 10/09
    Approval Date - 10/09
New Card is being produced - 10/10

    Here is my interview experience:
Our scheduled interview time was 9:30 AM & We got called in around 9:40 AM.
    1) First he took us to the room and swear to an oath.
    2) After oath, he introduced himself and explained how the interview process would work etc..
    3) He asked for Passport and GC
    4) He asked us for our state ID or DL. He verified the address on both IDs and asked us if we still live at the same place. We both have same addresses on our IDs ( it s better to have same address on DL or state ID)
    5) After ID/Address verification, He asked us how did we meet?
    6) He went through our application and asked us couple questions - Do you have any children and what is your SSN ?
    7) After application review, he asked us if we want to submit any additional evidence or not. ( Of course we said yes- then gave some new evidences)
😎 At the end he took photo, sign and finger print and told us i am approving your application - your card will arrive in 2 to 3 weeks.
around 9:55, we were out of the room. The whole process took less than 15 minutes.
Officer was very nice and I would say just be relax and truthful to all your answers.

Thanks guys for all your help!

Limba reacted to Orangesapples in I-751, filled tax married filing separately
You can file as married filing separately but your wife cannot file as head of household.

    Here:

    https://www.1040.com/tax-guide/faq/can-a-married-person-claim-the-head-of-household-filing-status/

The Head of Household status is designed for single persons with dependents, but in some cases, married persons can claim the Head of Household filing status.
To qualify for the Head of Household filing status while married, you must:
File your taxes separately from your spouse Pay more than half of the household expenses Not have lived with your spouse for the last 6 months of the year Provide the principle home of a qualifying dependent Claim an exemption for your dependent If you meet all of these requirements, you may file as Head of Household while married.

Limba reacted to qqg3 in Why is the I751 cover letter written by the US Citizen?
Looking at form I-751 it is completed by the petitioner, i.e. the person who is currently a conditional resident.

So why are all the example cover letters written from the perspective of the US citizen, for example: "...please find a JOINT I-751 petition for removal of conditions of permanent resident status regarding my husband/wife "CONDITIONAL RESIDENTS NAME"..."

This seems wrong as the conditional resident is usually filing jointly WITH their spouse (the US citizen).

Limba reacted to geowrian in USCIS New Policy
    NVC issues checklists, not RFEs.
USCIS is the one with the recently-enacted policy regarding denials more often instead of RFEs. This has been discussed here extensively. It applies to so-called "placeholder" applications.
Yes, always be careful to submit a full and complete packet. Missing a required item may result in a denial instead of RFE (as has always been the case, but more often now). Missing supporting documentation should still result in an RFE.

Limba reacted to Unlockable in How long does it take CR1 green card to arrive
The officer is correct, green cards are taking 6 months to a year.

When you get your green card it will have an expiration date on it. You can apply for ROC no more than 90 days before that expiration date.

Limba got a reaction from Henken23 in Please HELP!! Creating a Profile for Passport Pick Up After Interview Approval
I arrived at the US embassy at 6am as my interview was scheduled for 6:45am. Long queue was formed by the security at 6:30. Then after the security checks we went inside the interview hall. Nonimmigrant separated from immigrants. Take note of the number written on your appointment letter because you will be called with that number by the CO. Once all your documents are complete let confidence ride you. After thumbprinting they returned some of our pics and documents we submitted during Nvc stage that they did not need. And they will hold your passport.
Next is to wait till your number is called for interview. Here are some of the questions the CO asked me:
    1. Co: good morning with smiles
    2. Co: who called you?
    3. Co: how and when did we meet?
    4. Co: who was the mutual friend on Facebook? Cos I said we shared same mutual friend on Facebook. Pls make sure u dont make mistake. And be sure of what u say.
    5. Co: what was our discussion after we met?
    6. Co: what she does?
    7. Co: where she lives?
    8. Co: how many times she visited Nigeria?
    9. Co: she visited once and we got married? I said yea cos in the 5th question I explained our discussion and it includes our marriage plans.
    10. Co: where did we get married?
    11. Co: how many ppl attended our marriage? Give approximate
    12. Co: can I see your pictures? Show her the album.
    13. Co: who are the witnesses to the marriage?
    14. Co: have I lived in another state in Nigeria?
    15. Co: where was that?
    16. Co: OK your visa is approved.  Smiles. Thank you ma.

Just be sure of your answers. I dont think anybody was denied that day except those that were asked to provide additional documents. Visajourney really helped me a lot. Thank you guys
