Do you guys advice that I go to the philippines and fly back here in the US with my fiancee? i know the cost of the plane ticket will give me headache, but will it help her in any way that i'm with her when she arrives at the POE?
I went to my then fiance's home to have a wedding party for her side of family. Then we returned together to USA. Its a good thing to meet with her family at that time and assure them she will be ok with you and will keep close contact to them. I think its hardest on the parents to see their child go so far away. Then you can save money and make the trip back to visit once a year. Besides who won't want to go to Boracay woah.
Upon reaching a poe you and her will separate to different lines, and she maybe a while in a separate room before meeting you on other side where you can collect lugggage.
So I don't think us guys can be of much help, I just waited 2.5 hours.
Still its good to have a cell phone handy and stick nearby in terminal so that if they were to call you you would be available.
If you want her to get the 90 day work EAD permit stamp entitled to fiance visa apllicant then make the arrival at JFK airport in NYC. I recommend to get it and so she can work at a mall at least so she dont go nuts.
Good Luck.

We just received green card in mail!!! We are so greatful for the existance of the Visa Journey website and Visa journey family of members. This website is is an invaluable tool, great reference and everything you need to navigate the immigration process. It is a GPS, lighthouse, and beacon all rolled up in one. Good job!

Please help
My Fiance and me are thinking to get marry in court next week so we can apply for AOS immidiately, and have a big reception in Janury which my parents and friend will attend ...
I am applying for different jobs now but who will hire me with JFK temporary work permit? that's why we decided to have court ceremony, but how it will look in AOS ceremony?
Thanks for advice
Its fine to get married by a Judge and totally acceptable, remember to get at least 3 copies of the marriage certificate. They will come in handy for future. As far as getting a job, just work at the mall.
It is good place to start off and they will hire seasonal help for 3 month anyway now for Christmas holiday season.

Hi, congratulations on your K1!! You need SSN To be able to work even though you got the temp EAD at JFK airport. I came through JFK airport end of april and got the temp EAD stamp. Fortunately, i got myself a part time job with that temp EAD before it expired. Here are the sequence of events i have gone through so far:
a. entry to US via JFK airport. Temp EAD stamped on passport
b. Applied for SSN after 2 weeks with maiden name
c. Received SSN card after 1 week of application
d. Found temp job
e. Got married and change name
f. Change name at SSN and receive new card with changed name after 1 week of application
g. file and AOS, EAD and AP
Hope it helps and best of lucks!

congrats!! Just wondering if we can start work immediately we received this email from USCIS? Or we must wait to have the EAD card on hand before we can start working?
-
Thank you guys so much!! I appreciate all your responses.
I will ask my husband for Employment Letter, also enclose most recent tax return for three years, and six months pay stub. Hope an immigration officer would have enough patience for review all
Just two more quesitons. Could you tell me what "ammo" and "CYA" mean?
Hello,
"Ammo" means as in ammunition in your battle to get through this process. "CYA" , means to Cover your ###. In essence--To have enough of required documents of which to satisfy the USCIS so that you are successfullin your Visa Journey.
Good Luck to you both!

Hello,
Can someone suggest us a good civil surgeon in NJ to do the Vaccination transfer?
I am asking because we have been calling people and they either insist on doing the full medical or (like the last one we talked to) want to charge us a ridiculously high price just for the transfer - 100 USD.
Thanks:)
hi,
I went to this civil surgeon which is listed in the uscis website for the vaccination transfer. The nurses are very nice and friendly and they know what they are doing. It cost $50 to get it done.

Hi everyone! We received Notice Letter from USCIS today informing us my interview schedule.
SEPTEMBER 25,2007 - 10:30 am
Please update us in the List.
Thank you!
Lily
hi Lily, congrats on your interview appointment!!! Just wondering if you can track all your AOS/EAD/AP online at USCIS website now since your received the appointment letter via mail? also, what is your current AOS case status in the USCIS website? Thanks and once again congrats on your appointment..
-
hi, it seems that we are sharing a similar timeline for AOS/EAD/AP. I cannot check the case (all AOS/EAD/AP) online even after our biometrics appointment. However, we received and responded the RFE last week to the USCIS. And viola....i can see my AOS online few days after that ....but not EAD and AP...so i guess 'patience' is the key here...good luck to all of us!!!

Hi, I called Singapore US Embassy before applying for K1 visa. I was told that there is no DCF service offered at Singapore US embassy. Good luck...

Hi,
I got my first Macy's Card without any problem after few attempts to trying to get the unsecured credit card such as chase, north bank, and so on. Few days later, i applied CapitolOne unsecured credit card online and it is approved after 1 week. They give me small limit to start with but at least i am building my credit history now. My advise is try to get Macys store card and CapitolOne card...Good luck!!

I think you should call the USCIS main customer service center, then while in the automated sytem you can find part where you can change your adress, this requires a human being and you will then be connected. good luck!
I have recently sent an I29F petition for fiance visa package to the USCIS Texas Service Center but I now feel I have done so prematurely. I need to have the entire package sent back to me so that I can add and modify certain documents but I only manage to receive automated voice machines when I dial the number listed on the USCIS website. If anyone knows how I can actually speak to a human being rather than just one of their automated machines about getting my package sent back to me I would really appreciate the help.
This is a very tedious process.
Also--how long does it usually take the service center to receive the petition and cash the check? I sent this package on December 15 and have yet to see evidence of the check being cashed nor have I received the receipt in the mail. I mailed the Texas Service Center a letter requesting the petition returned to me but I would like to call and speak with a person so that I may describe the situation in detail.
Thank you in advance for your help as I'm desperate for information at this point.

The consulate has issued our k-1 visa!!!!!!!!!!!
We feel very fortunate, as only recently filed our I-129F in September 2006.
We wish all the other VJ members a quick and speedy journey.
Oh wanted to place our timeline into this posting. How do We do that?

It seems that JFK airport in New York City is the only (POE) point of entry which will provide the "much desired" employment stamp. Is this still the case? Why can't they give out that stamp at any poe?
I hope not, as we intend to get this stamp soon. Otherwise fiance will "go nuts", if can't work for three months. At least will be able to work immediatly upon arrival while awaiting the regular EAD, which should take 3 months to aquire.

amazing but congratulations .....! Good advice to check up !
Thanks andrew va thuy
We only filed our 129-f on Sept 25, 2006. Amazingly its been approved in 21 days. Thats pretty fast to reach the consulate in approximatly one month. Singapore and USA have a FTA free trade agreement. I believe this is why the process is so quick.
Well be sure to get this NOA2(I-797) because It will surely be needed at some point, the consulte didn't request to see it amazingly. However I suspect at POE or at AOS it will be needed. So must make sure to get it.
Good Luck to you on your VJ!

SIN/NJ TRAVELER,
Are you using an attorney? Do you have an online account with USCIS or E-mail notification? You really need the I-797 (NOA-2) hard copy document for further processing. Call them and request another copy.
At the end of the day, your case is highly peculiar, in that you received zero correspondence from CSC. You need to remedy that ASAP.
William,
No atorney used. and checked with uscis customer service. The case is approved Oct 16, 2006. and adress is correct, they instruct us to wait 30 days for the hard copy.
WE NEVER RECIEVED ANY NOA 1 OR NOA2, BUT GOT LETTER FROM NVC. IT SAYS WILL FORWARD TO CONSULATE WITHIN A WEEK! I AM SO GLAD TO HERE THIS, HOWEVER WHERE ARE THOSE NOAS?
PLEASE ADVISE.
-
Caps Key. Turn it off.
That's highly unusual.. I would call to double check and verify your mailing address.
I checked online and spoke to customer sevice at USCIS. It is confirmed the case was appoved oct 16, 2006.
They verify the address, and instructed us to wait at least 1 month for the confirm by mail.
