lms got a reaction from Mococatx in Traveling with Advance Parole
My traveling experience was pretty much the same. The officer sends you into second inspection to parole you. 10 min later Passport & parole Stamp back without a word. I brought my NOA's, marriage cert & EAD/AP card. They just wanted the Combo Card and Passport.
This was JFK Airport/NYC, I traveled by myself because it was a work trip.

Oh wow! That is pretty "quick" I expected to be an average of 2 years+ atm in Brooklyn.
I am 1 month behind you.

lms got a reaction from Shaman in November 2018 AOS Filers
Just wanted to check in and say Hi!
My EAD/AP renewal was received on 11/27/18 ( Brooklyn Nov 2017 AOS Filer here). I did not know I can renew up to 180 days in advance (I thought 120) ---- and have to travel to Europe for work May 9th 😱. Looks like I might not get the new AP in time....ugh. Can I expedite AP due to severe financial loss?
Fingers crossed to all Nov Filers to get the Combo Card ASAP!

We're located in Baltimore and we're scheduled for our interview October 4th, I hope NYC isn't too far behind! Best of luck.

lms reacted to USC4SPOUSE in Dreaded Processing Times....
Right. In some instances, at the end of the interview, the ISO has given couples the option to return on the date of their 2nd year anniversary to get their 10 year card approval. That makes absolute sense to me. If you've waited that long and are 1 month or 2 from the 2 year mark, well, it would suck to then have to wait another 2 years to file for removal of conditions. Nowadays, processing times for I-751s are way out of hand, and people end up applying for citizenship which in turn speeds up adjudication of your I-751.

Hi everyone, yeah we all see the same when you try to check your status online. But I downloaded their app on my phone "Case Tracker" USCIS.
And it saying that "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview. As of August 14, 2017, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to register permanent residence or Adjust status. Receipt number MSC..........., for an interview.
Either if you login to their website online you will be able to check your status. But you have to register with your case number. I would suggest just download the app on your phone so you get notifications as soon as the case is changing and way more accurate.
Good luck to you all!

I received my combo card in the mail today. USCIS didn't update my case file online at all and I had no idea that I was approved on the 20th, same as them receiving my file in the first place -- they never sent a letter letting me know they got my info. My priority date was November 30th. Definitely feeling relieved. Excited to work and live with ease!

And guys please, do we need a job offer to put in SR through Congressman? It's really frustrating not to be able to work or support family for so long. We need your suggestions on what worked for you.
Congrats again to @lms and the others who've received theirs! We will join you too shortly😁

Just came back after my interview. Here is my experience:
My interview location was Lawrence, MA. We had to wait nearly an hour before being called in. (The officer said it was a good thing as our application was through and they anticipated it would be done sooner than others)
My wife was called in first and about 5-7 minutes later she asked me to come in. I was asked to take an oath and then I was seated. She joked all the way through my interview.
Questions she asked to my wife after checking her ID:
1) How did I come to the country?
2) Where she went to college and where did I go? (She did not know where I went to college as it was in India. She knew I did botany in my undergrad)
3) She was surprised as to why I chose botany in undergrad. My wife knew the answer to that
4) How long she has stayed in the current address and if we own or rent?
5) How much do we pay for rent?
6) How much do we pay for utilities?
7) She asked for proof of joint ownership? (We had rental agreement, Joint bank accounts, Joint insurance, Mortgage approval and PSA) This was the only document she kept
8) How do her parents feel about me?
9) Where did we get married and how many people attended our wedding? She asked if we had wedding photos and my wife showed it to her
She then explained my wife what is going to happen next when I would walk in.
I walked in and I was asked to take an oath. After oath she asked me to show an ID and my passport. Fingerprints and picture are a part standard process.
1) She asked me how did I come to the US?
2) How did we meet?
3) She opened my application (485) and verified the information with me
3) Have I ever stayed illegally in the US?
4) Details of family members back in my home country.
5) Details of her family members.
6) How does her parents feel about me?
7) Where do we live and how much is the "mortgage"? I corrected her and said rent. She laughed as she intentionally used the term mortgage.
8) She then asked the Yes/No questions. As soon as she asked the dangerous plant question, she asked me about my Botany degree and why I did that. Our answers matched.
Once she was done she said that she had a rough morning and we are the only approval so far by her today. She then told how after two years I need to file for removal of condition application. She also told me since we would be moving we would have to file an AR-11 form and we would have to go to a different USCIS office when we file I-751.
She joked all through the interview and then walked us out. All in all the whole interview process was completed in 15-20 minutes, not counting the wait time.
Good luck to all the others waiting for their interview.
