Yay finally got mine approved also on October 30!!!

Hey thanks for the idea .
Also, I was trying to find an Indonesian name that won't sound too weird here. >.< The thing is, boys names are not as fun as girls' name... lots of them sound really weird to Americans (said my husband). Let me take a look at the site you sent me, thanks again!
How about an ancient Roman praenomen (this is pre-Christianity)?Appius, Aulus, Flavius, Gaius, Gnaeus, Decimus, Lucius, Manius, Marcus, Publius, Quintus, Servius, Sextus, Spurius, Titus, Tiberius.
Some of these, such as Marcus (Mark), might be in the Bible.
How about looking at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_perso...nd_the_Qur%27an. These people are both in the Bible and the Quran. If you name your child with the Western name, you can tell your parents it is after the person in the Quran (but westernized).

Noooeees >.< ewok! LOL....... they do look cute tho...
Eveline : Actually the name Adam could work, because...well..in islamic, Adam is also called.. Adam 0.0....it's spelled the same way too. Hmm... Adam....

The hubby loves the name Sean. I do too.... I wonder if my parents can say the name correctly.. i should check the next time they call me, lol.
-
Btw.... hubby just told me Sean is biblical 0.0, is it?
-
Ahahah...some of you guys are really funny >.< ! Had a good laugh.
Kk...the list has grown :
1. Dean
2. Eric
3. Edward <--- considering this one to be a middle name
I like Logan and Tristan... but the hubby doesn't. sucks...

It matters to my Muslim parents I guess. And as you might have heard, marrying an asian means you're marrying the whole family hahaha.
They don't mind if the name is english/american (after discussing for a long time, after they told me they would love for the kid to have indonesian name hehe), but I am trying to meet them half way.
I agree Madame Cleo.My first bf was named Abram. That's technically biblical but his parents were huge hippie/atheists! Abram didn't associate his name with the Bible. He thought it was neat that at least he'd heard of SOMEONE else with his name.
May I ask why you specifically don't want a Bible name?
-
Thanks for the suggestions! So far I like Eric and Dean..... by the way, does anyone know if Justin or Bradley are biblical names?
-
Hmm... looking for a name for my baby boy (due Jan 11, 2010),.... but we're trying to look for non-biblical/non-religious names. Do you guys have any idea? Thanks in advance!

Congratulations to those VSC-ers who just got approved ^.^. Can't wait until it's my turn! Good luck to the rest of us!

LOL ! Sorry for getting you all excited >.< ! I wish I was posting about my approval, but no.... Hopefully soon, though!

Why are they so slow..... *sniffles*. Sent mine in the end of June and I've heard nothing since the biometrics.

I personally don't know I flew in to Detroit and didn't get the EAD stamp. But then again filing for EAD was quite fast and easy for me anyways, no worries

i was hoping to be able to study in Salisbury University as soon as i got my green card but they told me that i wont be considered eligible for resident tuition fee until a year after i got my green card.... sux......
-
No worries, my husband and I tossed the tickets away since we did not know we'd need them for the paperwork. All I used as proofs were the visas and stamps in my passports, some pictures, proof that my husband was stationed in japan and proof that i was studying there when we met.
-
I did not have a family name either. What I did was put my first name in the first name column and my second name in the surname column. I wrote a note on a piece of paper explaining that my family do not have a family name, and thats why as they could see every single member of the family had different last name.

I've just gotten my conditional (2 yrs) green card last year and I'm planning on visiting my home country sometime this year. Could someone let me know if I need to file anything in particular, or whatever documents i need to bring with me ? I mean....if I only wanna visit for 2 weeks, do I still need to file for re-entry permit?
One more thing, does anyone know if you could travel without your passport as long as you have your millitary spouse id card?
Thank you in advance!

No interview required....thought it was a myth
Anyways, no more paperwork until it's time for me to file for the 10 yrs green card thingie.
Good luck to all of you!!

i dont remember the interviewers asking me about my job and i don't remember anyone posts such experience either. What happened was, the interviewer asked me about my then fiance (the US Citizen)'s job. Which makes sense, she wanted to know if I really knew him and that the relationship was genuine. Infact most of her questions were about my man. Just bunch of quizzes.
i agree with the previous poster that you could just say that she's a model....but my concern is, you might have to provide her agency's name and all that. And THAT could be the problem. If they recognize the agency's name... (FBI might..) they might give you guys trouble. It happened to a guy I knew. He ended up waiting for his WIFE (K3 visa) for 3 years and was not able to visit her in her country either.
did she use her real name in the internet, or not? if not.... maybe you guys could just not mention her job? say that she's never employed or something.
i dunno...as much as lying is bad, too much information can be worse. It's a tough situation, I wish you good luck.

Just wanna say that I got my greencard in the mailbox on November 6. So it took about a week from approval to actually getting my card in hand . Good luck to all of you.
