This is the second time my fiance and I applied. We applied last year in February and after 7 months we were denied because of our hardships to see each other within 2 years. We've known each other longer but we couldn't see each other in person because my dad passed away suddenly because if that I had to give up a lot of things so I could stay and help my mother. And we applied through a lawyer who didn't advice us well. Anyways, I cried and he was upset as well but we decided to apply again but of course I went and visited him twice before we applied so we won't be denied. Now we waited another 6 months... and maybe a few more months before he and I can finally start our life after so long.
I believe that you're a strong enough person to handle this. Eventually you will get a reply and you have so much support not only from your family and friends but from your VJ community. I wish you and your fiance the best and a prosperous life in whatever decisions you make. Xoxo

Since everyone is posting their pictures so here’s one of ours! These days has been hard for us, my fiancé cannot stay with me in Malaysia anymore because of some problems with Malaysian immigration. We’ve been in Vietnam for almost a month now and hoping to receive our NOA2 real soon! I’m gonna have to go home back in Malaysia soon and he’s going back to US, I really hope this will be our last goodbye, I hate it! We’re October 13th filer!  Wishing everyone for fast and smooth process to be with your loved one!

My fiancé just got an email from Informed Delivery with an incoming letter from the USCIS, he doesn't get home until the night so I went to check online and our case was approved.
No update on the old system. NOA1 10/10/2017

Average time of the NOA2 >NVC>local us embassy is about 30days, then you have to do your own research how many days needed to scheduled the interview in your country. Also how many days you need to pack anything  Based on those data you can assume the right time to give the resignation notification. Actually visa is valid for total 6month  (but only valid 90days upon arrival) so they also gives us time to prepare anything. 
My notice periode is about 45 days, but I decide to wait until the interview day to give my resignation notification.

They DID get to October 10.
Unfortunately this is how it works. 
November 16 (nope not 20 actually those were all received date 16ths) was a random occurrence this is a continuous occurrence.
 
You can go and read from May to September topics on how months move. And nope they are not going to stop and dwell on a day, they will continue.
So again they did got to October 10th. 
 
It is okay for you not to know and not to follow, but at least do not make assumptions without additional info.
 
How it works so you won't feel sad when they will continue from 10th (which will be the second time I write this actually...)
 
They start a date (nope not a month a date), most likely the busiest date of that week (usually a Monday or the next day after the holiday - in this case yep October 10th!!! because those dates have bigger numbers.) as those dates have bigger numbers they are statistically tend to show up more. 
 
So if you see for example a months first 2 days with more than 4 approval right after the month before finishes, then we consider it that month started (Yep this is just happening for months and months). Then it will continue, sometimes it will jump a few dates, which are most likely are not filled with 100s of applications. and this is the reason they may not appear (due to silent noa2s) or they will appear later in the game.
 
Nope, they are not suddenly approve 100s of a month let alone a date. So while the numbers for each date will go 30 % or more, they will continue the date. 
 
By the time November starts, October will be barely halfway. 
 
The first 2 weeks of November's start by the way is still weak for November. They tend to still go for the month before.
 
Actually if you think it as a date, let's say they are on a date and focused for example the last week of September. You can actually make a heat graph from there on both sides.
 
So Yes again they are on October 10th, these number statistically are pretty big for the start week, and that was the fastest someone ever complained when a month just started.
 
PS_ I am still laughing at the 95% of the 10 dates hearing something... because for that you will need to wait a goooood 3-4 months the least.

no update on app or website but SOMETHING is coming in the mail today. 😁

So.. a few hours ago i had a message from Jake's mum to say hes been taken into the emergency room with chest pains, heart racing & shortness of breath... i have been beside myself all day, friends have reached out to me (im a natural worrier anyways) hes NEVER ill, i've never known him to be ill in the whole 4 years we've known eachother.. distance absolutely SUCKS right now, more than ever.. i cant be there, i dont know whats going on, im just relying on messages from his mum & when he gives me updates, hes had an EKG (ECG in UK terms) an xray & bloods, i think its going to be a long night waiting on an update... they are keeping him in, which makes me worry somethings up.

Now even reconsidering my flights for next month to visit, its making me want to bring them forwarded... only problem is my job but then i suppose sometimes we just have to say F it when life throws curveballs. im abit lost right now, just needed somewhere to vent as didnt want to post on my fb or twitter for all friends/family to see.

 

Hello October!

I don't tend to go to other month threads, but I wanted to come here and brighten the mood a little.

I personally am a June 12th filer, and I only recently got my NOA2 after 214 days... BUT... I want to tell you a few things...

1.  There is ALOT happening that is not ever updated and recorded on the online system, so the numbers you may hear and see are usually on the pessimistic end.

2. After June, the following months have MUCH less applications, meaning that if USCIS stay at their current rate, the wait time WILL reduce by the time things reach Sept/Oct.

3. In the past two days alone, (and today isn't complete yet), USCIS approved around 150 cases in June alone... I have good reason (based on reports and trends) that there are plenty more that are not updated online (as previously stated), meaning things ARE hopefully going to get better.

4. People who are going through this process get mired down sometimes, and its not their fault, but when you spend a month or more watching those around you, and after you, being approved, whilst you remain stuck, it has an effect, and that effect spreads without you even realising it... this creates bias, which although it isn't intentional, it is inaccurate, and shouldn't be taken to make the future applicants downhearted.

TL;DR - Stay strong.  Stay positive, but realistic.  Trust in the data and analysis provided by the people who scan and watch the updates every day - I believe @Daniel P is scanning this month when the time comes, and I can say with certainty that he will guide you well, trust him... he won't be right for all of you - there will be people who get left behind, but support each other, and hope to be one of the lucky ones.  Be mindful of those who are not so lucky, and help to bring them out of the flames when they feel like they are in hell.

With that said, be very careful of planning wedding dates, and comitting non-refundable money, or getting your heart set on a date - it may lead to financial loss and heartbreak and nobody wants to see that for you, so remember (as we all have learned previously - we have VERY little control over this and there is nothing you can do about it, including get information much of the time, so remain robust and adaptable, but hopeful!)

I can tell you from experience now that recieving your NOA2 approval isn't the end of the journey, but it is a HUGE weight off of your shoulders - so be strong and supportive and you all will get that feeling too.

Hello my VS friends, i have being seeing a lot of you guys and girls worried about the RFE, and from my experience you should not worry so much about this simply because this is a waste of energy and time, right now there is nothing that can be done and think about this won't change anything, the RFE will depend only and solely on your adjucator. I have read a lot of you have paid a lot to lawyers to avoid RFE's and delay even more our process but unfortunately, it doesn't depend on the lawyers or anyone else but only on the adjudicator. My Fiance and I we didn't pay lawyers and we did everything on our on, counting only on the internet, I only started here on VJ after a month we had submitted our petition, and only then i started to worry about the RFE ( i was almost sure we would get an RFE since we meet on a dating website and we didn't add the terms) But we didn't get any RFE so again, this doesn't depend on anyone else but the adjudicator. I have seen a lot of RFE's requesting exactly the same thing it was already provided in the original petition.
 
So, my lovely friends, there is nothing to stress out, I totally understand everyone for all this stress for this endless waiting, I got my approval for 177 days so i totally understand everyone here. 
 
My suggestion is to keep the good mood and try to distract your mind with other things. Keep in mind that it's not about IF you will be approved but WHEN all of you will be approved eventually. So when the stress and despair take control repeat to your self, It's ONLY ABOUT WHEN... I WILL GET MY APPROVAL SOON... 

Only count the dependents which he lists in his taxes. If not it's only him+1(him+you) 
 
and unless he has a child, I don't think he would have a dependent.
