Congrats on the green card! If I may ask, do you know why it took so long to get your interview? I've seen a number of folks in Tampa get their AOS interviews after only 2-4 months of waiting. Thanks in advance for any insight you might be able to provide.

    Thank you.

I guess because when we applyed, we were in Miami, then we moved to Fort Myers, and as Fort Myers office is overloaded (as officer said) they transfered our case to Tampa. Even when ive changed my adress with USCIS they sent appointment letter to Miami, dont know why. Thanks god ive changed my adress with usps as well, so all mail that goes to miami transfering here.

  2. Hey guys.

Yesterday we had our interview, in Tampa, FL. All was good, a bit long time waiting. Officer was very nice, even if she were trying to show herself very serious :)

most of the questions was from application, yes or no and basic information about both of us. Then she asked my husband (petitioner) directly how did we meet. How long we have been together. Where he is working. Where im working. Then ive asked her to see our story book :) cause ive made it for embassy, no one looked, then new for uscis, and no one been asked me :) so i asked her to see :) she like it and even did a copy of one of the pages. In total interview was very smooth, in friendly athmosphere. She didnt say anything about approval, she just said the we gonna receive something in the mail withing 30-60 days.

and today in the morning ive got a status update message, even on the web page it was showing nothing (at all, just MY..), ive decided to check automatically through the phone, and it says that new card has been ordered .

hope you guys getting your interviews already.

I simply find this last part rude and unnecessary.

Again just because you are ok with something, doesn't have to mean every body has to feel same way.

You don't have to bring my words back to me as I am not bringing your past here, which is not even important but yes if I am to wait for 22 months then I'd rather wait for 24, there is a reason for that. But If I am not waiting for that long and someone around me under similar circumstances got their interview or GC, it is only normal, logical and smart for someone to wonder how their case is processing.

So the best part to avoid these stupid questions would be skipping.

    Whatever....

No one saying that i feel somehow different, somehow happier, no, we are all in stress about all of this process.

I didnt mean anything bad or rude to anyone here, just wrote about annoying questions. Thats it.

Same as YOU been saying in OCTOBER K1 FIANCE VISA FEED about some annoying questions.

Do whatever you want, ask whatever you want, I dont care about this forum (this feed) anymore.

P.S. didnt know that you will be the most impulsive person on  this forum, but its ok, maybe thats who you really are.

    Wish good luck to everyone.

    Peace and love

Ok so first of all I am extremely glad you are in a position to be happy for AP or EAD. I am too.

    However before you start calling it crazy or impatient;

It coming in the mail fast was extremely important cause we only had savings for 5 months. I had a job opportunity. As a person who worked her whole life, not working for 5 months was in plans but about 7 months was not. You also never know if it will reach your address. Cause some things get lost, and I like to keep track.

I need a driving license too, because I am in an isolated area, and in California no license means no life... you are a prisoner in home. It is not much different than waiting for NOA1 and worrying yours didn't come, and checking how long others took..

Did you know you can't build credit on most ways if you didn't get your Green Card and removed the "Need work authorization" from your social security number? Like I couldn't even jointly apply to a loan with my husband, nor it would affect my credit score.. nor would I have a credit score...or a credit card even though my salary is way higher than many people. I need all these to be able to live a normal life. And no I didn't know any of these until it came across because nobody has information on this kind of things.

So you go be happy, please be. I am sure everyone understand it will come when it does. But please stop calling people with maybe less patience, more anxiety, more excitement or whatever is different than your situation be themselves without feeling guilty too.

1st: in the mail it will come as it will come, you just have to wait. As i said before: we all know that mail takes about 10 days.

2nd: we didnt have any savings, and we were expecting to get AED in 3 month, as we checked timeframe before my coming here (also august)

3rd: how you can keep track by asking people how long it will take to reach your address? You have your tracking number and you can track it on usps web page, its even showing you an astimated arrival date.

4th: driving license you can get even without your AED/AP (temporary, but you can easily change it after you get docs)

5th: im building my credit without GC, ive even been approved for a credit card by myself even before ive got my AED/AP. Limit is 800$ but ive already have credit score (good). All what we had in that bank, is joint account, but when i applied for credit card, ive choose to not secure it by debit card. And got approved. So all depends on bank you choose. Even you can sign bills to your name (phone, utilities etc) and ask to report to credit bureau, and already will start to build your credit history.

And yes, i feel as prisoner too, also without car mission is impossible, but somehow im dealing with that, bought a bike for now, much healthier than a car :)

When i was waiting for AED/AP been reading forums, learned some info. Then been doing gardening in our house(all neighbours in shock about our house)

I didnt say anything about asking people for advice, or real questions, i just said to stop asking "stupid" questions, as "When it will arrive?" - no one knows when it will arrive, only mail man does and only when he/she will have it in hands.

Even you said some time ago, that you want to have a GC or right after applying or after 2 years. Thats your words.

@MikeandMeg sorry, if i made you feel that way, but i didnt mean you or some one else specificly, i just said in overal, thats annoying to read all the time same question about "when it will come" or "omg, when i will get interview date." We will get it when we will get it. Just saying, as soon as you will stop thinking of it, it will come to you ;)

Actually, I'm the K1 visa petitioner (born in raised here in NJ). So for me I don't need to rush to get the green card, I'm a US citizen. I have not had a lot of good experiences with the process, ie loss of paperwork, at embassy and here, so I rather the process hurry along. I'm definitely enjoying my spouse but like many others can probably attest, sometimes you just want to get them out your hair even if it's just for 2 years.

But thats the point, youve sent all your paperwork, you got EAD and AP. So thats it, green card its just a card, same as AP doesnt garantee anything. You shouldnt be worry about anything while you waiting for your GC, just let it go. Once it will pass normal timeframe, then yes, you can start thinking about it. If they loose something, thats gonna be theirs fault, even if you will have to submit paperwork again, you will dont have to wait again that long wait, they should take you right after.

We are happy that ive got EAD and AP, so i can live here normally, having a job, travel, etc. Once they ready, im glad for them. The worst part of this process when we wanted to be on harry, it was visa process, as we wanted to be next to each other asap, now we are together, i have all documents that i need (as i said before "for normal life") and just forgot abour uscis for sometime.

THIS PART IS TO EVERYONE, NOT DIRECTLY TO YOU:

Some people are crazy even to wait for a letter in mailbox. You got approved for AP or EAD, you see this update, so just patiently wait for a letter, we all know that letters goes about 10 days in avarage, so just wait. The worst part that people dont even read previous comments from other users, just lazy i guess, but instead of asking so simple questions over and over again, just scroll feed and read, sometimes you can even find answers for questions that you will have in future. Some people still waiting for even status update, and you going crazy with this stupid questions " when i will get the letter and card" - never, that was just a joke update on uscis page. Really, people, be patient. All goes as it should be. All in our lives as it should be.

You are already with your loved one, so just enjoy your life together, once something change, you will get your "happy letter" in mailbox and email.

    Peace and live to everyone.

P.S. and yes, you are really welcome to share your stories of your interview experience, your process experience, all what people really should know about the process.

Not sure how long, but very happy for you. Newark, NJ is my field office too and waiting for an interview can go much longer than what they have posted. I know from personal experience my best friend and my cousin both waited over 2 years, respectively. Here's hoping my file miraculously lands on their desk sometime soon. :) In the meantime, good luck with your interview.

But why you on hurry with your green card. As for me, i prefer them to take a bit more then 2 years to process our file and get already 10 years green card, than to have interview now and then having headache after 2 years again with the same process and interview for removal conditions... just relax, get your work authorisation, your travel document and enjoy your life with your husband/wife. Less headache and less money to spend.

The new website is not updated for some reason. You can also check using the old website USCIS.gov

schedueled for an interview mean that you are in the line the time process may vary. Normally you don’t get a notice when it change.

If you see your case updating on old version, just go to that page, and on the right top side there is a button to sign up. You register to that system, then you add your cases, and turn on notifications in which way you want. In my case new version doesnt work also. So ive registered there and it showinv every step they do to your case, and if any changes they send you notification you choose.

It wouldn't be the first time that a government agent doesn't know his job, like the IO who request a new medical while it's not necessary. On VJ you can also find people you got their emergency AP at a field office. You were probably unlucky with the officer you met, who didn't care or just didn't know that procedure 😕

I would say opposite, she really tried to help us and even said to us one secret that shouldnt say. :)

  9. 11 hours ago, Gibus said:

I know about it too I've been requesting one, actually two. You can expedite an AP that you already send by calling like you said.

But if you can't wait for even a month, another option is still to visit an USCIS office, as said on their website.

    Screenshot 2018-12-29 23.15.47.png

But you understand, that on their website not right information. I mean they write a lot, but on fact is totally different. This is what an officer in USCIS said to us:

There is nothing i can do from here, as the case is not in USCIS office, the only one thing i can do is to send office request, but it will take the same time to get an answer as you will ask for request.

On that point ive been already waiting for an answer, and she said just to send the same fax to them. So i did and it worked.

    Hello fellow VJers,

I submitted my I-130 on 9/5/18 and NOA date of 9/7/18. Then filed for AOS on 12/7/18 and an priority date of 9/7/18. At the same time 12/7/18 we filed for I-765 and I-131. I wanted to know what steps I need to expedite both EAD and AP since the AOS will take forever. We have a trip planned in January 2019. Please help. Thank you

I would recommend you next steps.

    1. You call USCIS and say that you want to expedite case AP because Extreme Emergency. That one of possible way and the only one would fit your sutuation. And then you can provide exact information about situation (kind of comments to officer why you want your case to be expedited)

    2. Then you need to prepare as soon as possible as much as possible proof of your situation. Cause first answer you will get to send them proof by fax. So faster you send faster you get answer back. Normally it takes a week-two between your message and theirs answer.

Ive applyed for expedite on Nov 14, and got my Combo card on hand on Dec 21.

And ive been not giving up, ive been calling to them every 2 days 😁

    So as i wrote before:

If you really sure your situation is really emergent, you need to push on them to get theirs job done fast, you pay for this process. Otherwise you will get reply when your timeframe actually comes by theirs schedule.

If it is an emergency get an InfoPass appointment to your local office and go with the evidence of your mother in law critical illness.

It would be the same as they will call.Just waste of time for an appointment. BECAUSE: USCIS Office doesnt work on that cases, thats work of NBC (National Benefit Center) so they will make the same case expedite request as you can do on the phone.

I did my expedite and got approved. So i know a bit that process.

    I agree - it's a lottery.

About your mom. The  United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA share the data. So, if your mom is a legal resident of the UK, then she should be fine.

Don't know if it's true, but when I got my UK visa , I was told that it would be a good  time to apply for USA visa too - like, an open UK visa increases your  chances to get a visa for one of those 5 countries.

As I've said, not sure it really works - I didn't apply,  since US wasn't in my travel list, well, that time, until I met my husband 😉 , so didn't  "check" if the statement was correct,  but that's what  "people say"...

Well, my sister lives in England, and my parents have the UK visa and also had it  at the time they applied for B1/B2. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.. They got approved. So who knows...

Dont know about that, cause when i was 16 ive moved with my parents to UK, as a kid under 21 and also under 18 :) i didnt have any choice to stay in ukraine, cause ive been depended on my parents. So i immigrated there, so for CO it was as intention to immigrate i guess, even if it was loooooong time ago, because CO even asked me about me in UK. So not UK visa or not even 21 country visited including 3 countries living for more than 6 month (ALL LEGALLY) and after all of them been coming back to my home country without even a second overstaying or something like that, didnt prove CO that i dont do illigal things. But i dont care :) just thinking how crazy they are when lots of people who really have intentions to move illigally getting approved by the same COs and people who just wants to travel the opposite.

as we say in ukraine "GOD is a judge for them"

    peace and love to everyone!

  13. On 12/20/2018 at 6:15 PM, Boiler said:

    You had proof

You had proof that you would not be staying in the US but you then immigrated?

Yes, i had proof that i will be back for sure, and on that time i didnt know that me and my husband gonna be together at all, as we just met on that period of time. And i didnt plan to move at all. But as we both wanted to be together one of us had to move, and as my husband been already living in poland for 5 years, he didnt wanna go back there and also have a good position here, so the only one who been able to move its me. Even now, if i wouldnt be married or if my husband would like to move, i would move back to Europe.

  14. B1/B2 is a lottery. As all people before said that people who say truth got denials and people who lie and have intentions to move got approved. Ive tried before my K1 process to apply for tourist visa, only because i had some extra money, because before i didnt wanna pay that amount of money just for visa. So onve i had some extra ive decided to apply, and got denial. Ive been sayong truth that im planning to visit few places, likely more close to christmas time (it was february 2016) and CO said i have no ties to Ukraine and no ties to Poland (ive been living in poland already,so applied from there). Ok, then i just said to my self: you USA, there is a lot of other places in the world to see, so decided never apply again. But exactrly after 1 year ive met my fiance, and ive decided to apply for B1 again to have possibility to visit him times to times. And got denial, then i brought more proof that i will come back and after one week applyed again - no luck. So we gave up on tourist visa and after half year made a decision to get married, so applied for K1. So finally we are together. Now have the same stress in my head as yoh have, want my mom to visit us, she lives in UK for last 11 years, still with ukrainian citizenship as she doesnt want to change, so dont know if we can her to try to apply for B1...

    Hi Everyone!

I've been lurking since our filing date September 4th but never really posted. Just wanted to say I refreshed the app today and was surprised to see our EAD changed to "New card is Being Produced" as of yesterday! We did try to expedite our AP back in November but no luck. Does anyone know if our EAD include our AP as well even if there is no update online for it?

    Hey hey

I dont think that AP will be with EAD

And yes, i think thats your expedite request works, we also made an expedite request in november and on monday had the same status, yesterday it changed to card was mailed to me.

Just an advise to everyone: if you have real reason to expedite, just push on them and you will get it. Ive been pushing on them for last month, and ive got it. Meantime they were sending me crazy answers with no sence, and last time i even had a rude representative,so i asked to connect me with supervisor and left feedback. After that my status changed. So waiting for my EAD card in mailbox.

    Hi everybody,

Just wanted to share some good news and ask a quick question.

My wife (the beneficiary) and I (US citizen) filed her I-130 and I-485 concurrently in September, had the interview at the San Diego field office last week and just received the notice online that our case was approved! Does anybody have any idea how long it usually takes between being approved and receiving the actual greencard in the mail? I have included our timeline below, and yes, we were as surprised as anyone that our process moved so quickly.

    9/4/2018 - I-485, I-130, I-131, I-765 RECEIVED Date

9/10/2018 - NOA notice date for all forms

9/14/2018 - NOA notice date for ASC Appointment (Biometrics) for I-485 and I-765

    10/3/2018 - Biometrics appointment

10/11/2018 - Case status changed to "ready to schedule your Form I485...for an interview"

10/17/2018 - NOA notice date for "Request for Applicant to Appear for Initial Interview"

11/28/2018 - Interview at the San Diego field office completed and USCIS officer recommended approval

12/7/2018 - Online case status changed to Approved: "On December 6, 2018, we approved your form I-130/I-485..."

I guess up to 2 weeks. Here is K1 process not CR1 by the way :)

Just done with my AOS interview yesterday, it’s a painless experience 😊

Me and my husband answered all the questions that the Officer asked, gave all the documents the he asked.

Then after that rhe officer handed me a paper, me and my husband put our signature there and the officer put a date stamp. Then he said that he will give my papers to the supervisor to check if all is well, then he said If all is well they will semd my Card on the mail within 2 weeks, but if they still need some papers from me they will let me know by mail then I just need to send it to them.

Hoping to get my Green Card soon 😊🏻🤞🏻 Goodluck everyone!

    AOS filed - Sept. 07, 2018

Hey Guys we did our biometrics on Oct 3rd but nothings has updated online is it normal?

For USCIS anything that not normal for people is absolutely normal :) just call them and ask about actual status. Mine for example all different,on the case status page one thing, on profile other, and on the phone one of my cases can not be found at all 😂 so everything is ok as long as you have your i797 (NOA)
