  1. I called many of the Civil surgeons in the Snohomish county in Washington and most didn't know what I wanted. When I went to one clinic in Mount Vernon they would do it for me but charged me the $250 regardless of the fact that they did not perform the full physical. They said its the same fee whether or not you get the physical done or just get the supplement filled out.

So in my opinion its a crapshoot based on each specific surgeon's clinic.

  2. Yup - Jeannette and I were both approved! The lady actually had us both up at the window together saying we were approved to get married. Of course not to each other ;) LOL!

Jimmy the American, there was no need to line up at all...so just walk right up to the guard and let him know that you're there for a K1 and he'll let you right through! Good luck tomorrow - I know you'll be just fine!

The interview was just along the lines of what Mercy reported except the lady seemed a bit frazzled since she had a doctor's appt to go to. She had us both wait after our interviews without telling us we were approved. But basically it was so she could process our passports right away and we didn't have to come back (because she needed to leave early!)

The Consul who does the interview is very nice and asked the typical questions about how we met, whether I've visited him and met his family. A bunch of questions about my affidavit since Neil is self-employed. He spent the most amount of time looking at his tax returns.

    Otherwise it was smooth sailing!

Thanks to everyone here on this site - you guys kept me sane!

    Cheers,

  3. I have mine tomorrow at Vancouver as well. 10 am.

I'm sure we need to bring a copy of the original I-129F application.

I don't think we need to line up in the morning. From the forums as well as my experience when going there to pick up Packet 3, you can just talk to the guard and tell them you're there for a K1 interview at <blank> time and they send you up.

That's my 2 cents! Good luck and hope to see you there!!

    Cheers,

  4. I've thought the same thing and found the same advice. You could travel without using your Visa, just as a visitor. But if you deal with a border officer who asks a lot of questions and you have to divulge the fact you have an unactivated K1 Visa this may be a problem.

I'm opting not to risk it! Just going to cross first, apply for Advance Parole and hope that I get it within 90 days so I can do my travelling outside the US.

All routes seem to have their issues!

  5. WOW - sounds like they are in angry consulate worker mode over there. Flood of transfers? I sent a few emails with no responses, but when I call they give me the info. So I think they are just doing what they need / want to. They probably recognize your name /email when you call!

I think they're catching on to us.... LOL

  6. I emailed them the next day. Then called the next day, left a voicemail because we didn't get through to anyone. Got the interview date 4 days after we faxed in the checklist. I think you should get a December date from what the Vancouver Waiting Room Forum looks like...

  7. I'm still waiting on Packet 3. Apparently NVC sent to Van. sometime between like.. the 9th and 14th?

I don't want to bother them to find out :P

I did shoot off an email to Vancouver though to see if they had recieved it yet. Haven't heard anything so far.

I'm hoping to land an interview before the end of the year, but I don't know how realistic that is.

I'd recommend calling and emailing - it seemed to do the trick for me when I knew that NVC had sent through my petition. In a twisted way I think they may show you some more love if you harass them!

  8. Plan on crossing about 3 months after I get the Visa (knock on wood). Don't have our interview date yet - still waiting for that.

Tentative Wedding Date: March 17th 2007

Cross the same day as the big planned wedding - is this crazy?

Another Q - I'm planning a vacation to India before the wedding, does anyone know of reasons why this could cause an issue when crossing? Don't think so, but doesn't hurt to check.

    Thanks! :D

  9. Filling out the DS230 and of course doubting all my common sense and logic knowing how these things get processed:

    1. Question 25 - List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States.

Well, live in Vancouver so can't remember or count how many trips back and forth across the Peace Arch border. So how should I answer this? I am noting on a supplement page that I've had ongoing travel and my close proximity to the border. THoughts? :help:

Guessing they don't need to know of EVERY trip to Vegas?!

    2. Signatures - sign end of Part I, but not end of Part II (After Question #35)?

Thanks for your help with my instant case of dumbness.

  10. I've asked this exact same question, and overall the response I've gotten is this:

Being denied at the border really doesn't effect the visa process -that much-. There is (supposedly) a place on the visa forms down the road that will ask about if you have ever been denied a visa before. But there are plenty of people for many many reasons who get denied visas. You just fill out the form, and if they ask, you explain the situation. Not a big deal really.

But, ultimately, it's up to you on if you want to take the chance that you might be turned back. It might be better for the petitioner to visit the beneficiary's country instead, but if that's not possible, you really should make the decision between yourselves.

    Hope this helps...

    Thank you all responded.

Is the deny entry the same as denu visa?

She is coming from Vancouver. She is canadian citizen. She come to us using WVP.

If she is denied entry, does she need to reveal in future visa application?

    Charles.

I've entered the US by car from the Vancouver area about 10 times since we submitted our I129-F. Sometimes I've gotten a bit of scrutiny about it, but never anything too serious. We haven't received the NOA2 yet, but I don't know if that makes a difference. Often they just ask what I do for a living and who I work for and they seem satisfied. I think it also helps I have a history of going every weekend now :)

I've visited my fiance in Washington since we filed our I129-F in May not knowing it could be an issue! (I only JUST found this site). I cross by car from BC and say I'm visiting my boyfriend. I get the usual questions about goods or gifts and what I do for a living. A few times they've asked if I have any clothes at his place. I answer no. So my experience has been very good - if lucky? I do think it helps that there's a pattern of my visits every weekend.

BTW - Received our approval on 10/20/06 by mail - no email. So may have to rethink the visits?
