Yes i did read from other filers on here that the wait time for appts to Mexico consulate is wayyyyyyyy longer than other countries. Kudos to you for letting it be known to our politicians. Once my case is approved i will be on the same boat here in Chicago.
Yes we might bump. I live abroad most of the time in juarez. We are from Durango but decided to relocate to juarez during this process. It hasnt been easy.

Awesome yes thank you very much!  Probably be around the same time as well so we might see you there ha.

I am not patiently waiting.  I live in Arizona so I have already contacted our 2 senators and my local congresswoman.  I think 7 to 8 months from CC to interview is unacceptable.  3 to 4 is perfectly understandable but it has long been excessive at this point.   I got a call from Senator McCain's staff yesterday and they were shocked that the time frame has jumped to 7 months.  They will be looking into it they say.  Today I emailed our other senator and I am waiting to hear back.  I've also contacted the state department, NVC and the Consulate at Ciudad Juarez and all are giving me canned responses.  So I am putting in the work for us because I feel like there is something suspect going on there at CDJ.

By the way we never submitted a DS-261.  I called them and told them I was the agent and that was it.  Never filled out a form online or anything.

    Awesome!  Good luck!

Here is my experience (FINAL 'this time for sure' update):

8/27/2018 - Called and received the case number and invoice ID number.  Gave them my email address and my wife's email address.

8/27/2018 - 11:30pm Pacific Time, I received an email with the welcome letter that also instructed us to pay the AOS fee & IV fee.  I immediately logged onto the CEAC and both fees were active.  I paid both fees.  Fees show as 'In Process'

8/28/2018 - 5pm sent I-864ez & AOS docs and IV docs to NVC via FedEx overnight shipping.

8/29/2018 - Both fees are charged to bank account but CEAC still shows 'In Process'.  10:00am FedEx packaged arrived at NVC and is signed for.

8/30/2018 - 9:00am Fees still show 'In Process'.  Called NVC to confirm they received and scanned my documents.  Informed that they have not yet been scanned in.

8/30/2018 - 1:00pm Both fees show as 'Paid' and DS-260 is active.  Spent 2 hours carefully filling out each section of the IV Application.  Printed all sections for review, Adriana and I went through it to make sure it was flawless.  Signed and Submitted DS-260 at 8:00pm.

8/31/2018 - 10:00am called NVC and agent tells me "I can confirm with you that we have received your DS-260 and all required documents.  Your case will now go for review which can take up to 3 weeks to reach a completed case.

9/10/2018 - Case Complete - So now we wait 7 months for an interview at Ciudad Juarez (in my estimation)

I also tried to submit for an NVC Expedite based on my medical condition.  I detailed the reason for the expedite request and detailed the medical condition.  Doctor provided documentation and recommendation for the urgency of my spouse moving to United States to care for me but....DENIED

I called the morning of 9/10/2018 and the case was not complete.
I came back from lunch about 2pm and logged onto the CEAC and noticed that the AOS payment was gone.  So i called NVC once again and he told me my case was complete and to wait for notification for the interview as the next step.

Denials are always tough to swallow for applicants and their families. Especially when it seems like the applicant had all of the appropriate supporting evidence they needed like your MIL did. Truth is, a visa is never guaranteed. We always suggest hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I agree that the right advice has already been given. Your MIL and BIL can certainly reapply after a comfortable amount of time. Hopefully, they will get it.

This is going to be the only good advice you'll hear, to be honest.
Wait 6 - 12 months and try again. Not much else that can be done.

I got an email from the juarez consulate technical team and they reverted everything back lol.  So my wife's appointments fingerprint and consular interview are back on as originally scheduled.  They said sorry for the inconvenience.  So I don't know if there was an IT issue that brought down the system or whatever.  Hopefully this time our appointments stick because I got hotels and other things to reserve in advance in Juarez.

Adriana & Chris reacted to Alex & Ivan in CR-1 Process- Juarez, Mexico
    Hello Everyone!

Today we were approved and wanted to share our end experience with this entire process.

Our CC was April 19th and we requested for an expedite at the beginning of August since in seemed that Juarez was waaaaaay backed up on interviews. They are about 6-7 months from CC to actual interview date. After seeing a post on facebook on someone asking to expedite their case I thought what the heck, I got nothing to loose. I filed for an expedite for some personal issues as well as my apartment lease coming to an end and my rent will be going up to about $1300 a month since my husband and I did not want to agree to another year. When I originally agreed on the 10mo lease I was under the impression that I would have had an interview date in August. Once July rolled around and saw how backed up we were I got super bummed because it seemed that we probably wouldn't get an interview until November. I also have lot's of student loans  I have to pay of with some credit/car debt as well. When I filed for the expedite I put financial as one of the reasons but also showed that I am in good standing with all of my payments and don't have any derogatory marks. I stressed that my financial plans last year were made based off of what I thought would be an approval month. Of course I had a plan B if the interview date didn't go as planned BUT it would just be so helpful to have someone to help with the finances and not struggle from the trips I am consistently making out to Mexico. I most definitely did not think I would get expedited but by some miracle we did 🤗 They called a couple days later and we set up his interview for August 24th.

Prior to my husbands interview date I had traveled to Mexico for our one year anniversary in May. I brought him 3 pre-made color coded sticky notes packets with all the information he would need for his time at the consulate as well as translated the names of the packets since he only speaks Spanish. All he would need were a couple more documents which I noted on his packets as well one was an extra copy, one for himself, one for the consulate. He arrived in Juarez on Tuesday, August 21st, Had his medical and biometrics exam on the 23rd, and his interview today.

For the medical exam it was weird because they asked for the address which he didn't expect since they only asked for the DS-260 for, Appt letter, and passport initially so had to revise his documents to get the address. His appt was at 6:30am and finished within the hour and then had his biometrics at 2:30pm. Got his results at 3:30pm for his medical exam and everything was all good.

He got to the interview and was super nervous because the office who was doing the interviews for his group was denying a lot of visas. When he walked up to the officer he said the nervousness went away as he was talking to the officer because the conversation was very natural and the officer seemed to enjoy the conversation with him. He was smiling and even laughing at the thoroughness of how I prepared his packets. He was asked:
How long have you and your wife been together? About a year and a half

How long ago did you meet? about 2 and a half years ago

How did you meet? We met through mutual friends and through those mutual friends she was the one who actually started reaching out to me to get to know me more ( officer laughed and said " ohhhh reeeeally" ). She would send me messages and of course I would reply because I liked her too so I would message back. We found out we had a lot in common, one of those things being we love to video game. We both would hop on our playstation to play and we would be in the chat audio all night for hours which eventually led to actual phone calls. Then we started face-timing each other on the daily and our days off. One thing led to another and then I asked her to marry me and she flew out here to do so. We have since then traveled a lot together and she has come out here on multiple occasions to spend time with me and my family. I have some picture if you would like. My wife prepared a packet hold on...( husband took out giant 30page packet our our photos dates by month and year we traveled together, office then chuckled and said " wow you really have traveled a lot together!". Officer then asked for him to show him all the pics and were we have traveled and what we've done together while visiting)

It seems like you and your wife love each other a lot

So tell me about your plans for work when you arrive to the states: I currently work at the Nuclear power plant in Veracruz as a Technician who calibrates instruments so I am planning on applying to the nuclear power plant in AZ. They also have a really big electricity company I can apply to as well if I am not hired on at the power plant. My wife and I have already done a lot of research of the position open and what is needed in order to be hired on.
The officer then asked him more questions about what else he does at the power plant just out of curiosity.

Congratulations you have been approved, your visa will arrive in a max of 10 days and good luck to you and your wife.

My husband said that he doesn't even know why he was so nervous, that as soon as he started talking about us he just felt so much peace because it's our truth. He felt as if though he was talking to some friends who just happened to ask how did you guys meet.

I am so happy this process is finally over and we can finally be together! I didn't have a lawyer, just literally hours and hours of reading threads on this website 🤣 I would take other's experience and did soooooo much research on what to do, mistakes commonly made, finding checklists and so much more! I would get so bummed when I would have people tell me you should get a lawyer, it makes the process easier but I am so happy that I didn't and just put in the work to make it happen. I have learned so much and have also been able to help others. I even helped someone get their case expedited who had been denied !!! The main advice I can while at our interview is just be truthful and honest lol. Like my husband said, it's our truth, there is no need to be nervous about your relationship if it is an honest one. Good luck to everyone!

I've been wanting to write this for SO long!

After 10 and a half months stuck at Nebraska, two months in NVC and almost six months waiting after our CC to get an interview, it finally happened!

My interview appointment was stressful. There even was a point where the supervisor approached the officer and they closed the microphone. I thought I was going to faint. My case was a bit complicated and it looked weird on paper, but after explaining what happened things started to get a little better. Overall it took me 3 hours (two hours waiting and one hour of questioning!) but I fully understood it's their job and they just had to make sure everything was in order. Everyone was very nice and professional, and even being Juarez I've never felt unsafe. I have honestly nothing but nice things to say about the U.S consulate and even though the process is incredibly draining if you play by the rules and follow the requirements it's not that bad.

561 days of documents, tears, long distance, money (oh, the money) the uncertainty. It was incredibly worth it just for this moment! to hug my husband waiting for me outside and dance with my little green paper.

Thank you SO much, everyone, for helping me throughout the process. I couldn't have done it without you, since you helped me not only be prepared for the process but stay sane after it kept taking longer and longer. I am also aware it didn't take as long as others and it wasn't the most complex situation, so I'm counting my blessings and I feel very lucky that overall things went smoothly and I get to drive back with my love to Texas and start our lives together, almost two years after getting married yet so ready to start from scratch as newlyweds.

I wish you all the best on your journey! you deserve to experience the same joy I'm experiencing.
    ❤️ Lorena

I went to the Juerez medical center yesterday and the cost of everything plus shots was over $300 which was unexpected because the web site says it is only $220 per adult. After taxes and any additional shots which they only administered two to me it came out to be $7,900 pesos.....and they said it could even go up to being $9,000 pesos..... just a heads up....

Here is my experience so far:

8/27/2018 - I called and received the case number and invoice ID number.  I also gave them my email address and my wife's email address.

8/27/2018 - 11:30pm Pacific Time, I received an email with the welcome letter that also instructed us to pay the AOS fee & IV fee.  I immediately logged onto the CEAC and both fees were active.  I paid both fees one at a time by 11:50pm.  Fees both showed as 'In Process'

8/28/2018 - Fees show as 'In Process' still.  At 5pm I overnighted all AOS docs which includes the I-864ez and IV docs to NVC using FedEx.  They will be receiving them by 5pm today 8/29/2018.

8/29/2018 - Both fees are charged to my bank account but CEAC still shows 'In Process'.   I called NVC once again and was informed that the payments should clear by 8/30/2018 in which case the DS-260 will open up. I was also told that once they receive our documents via FedEx the documents will immediately go into our file and will be reviewed once our DS-260 is completed.

8/30/2018 - Tomorrow I should be able to complete the DS-260 then Steps 1 through Step 5 will be complete and we just wait for the CC.
