Omg amazing. So blessed. And yes thanks goodluck aswell. Im following you guys now. Im also in juarez. Hope you get your cita soon.

Awesome yes thank you very much!  Probably be around the same time as well so we might see you there ha.

I am not patiently waiting.  I live in Arizona so I have already contacted our 2 senators and my local congresswoman.  I think 7 to 8 months from CC to interview is unacceptable.  3 to 4 is perfectly understandable but it has long been excessive at this point.   I got a call from Senator McCain's staff yesterday and they were shocked that the time frame has jumped to 7 months.  They will be looking into it they say.  Today I emailed our other senator and I am waiting to hear back.  I've also contacted the state department, NVC and the Consulate at Ciudad Juarez and all are giving me canned responses.  So I am putting in the work for us because I feel like there is something suspect going on there at CDJ.

Thank you for this update. Wow another 7 months for cita omg. Also i called today and they said they had my email incorrect for my spouse and no email on file for me and that i have to wait to receive welcome letter. How did you get case number and invoice number over the phone?

Yes so basically what was able to do was acquire my Case Number and Invoice Identification Number at the same time over the phone.  Once I received that I logged onto the CEAC here:

    https://ceac.state.gov/IV/Login.aspx

Then input both numbers and there you have it.  It will be shaded and you will not be able to do anything yet but at least you can enter CEAC for now.  Both fees were not active until I received the email.  Right when I received the email I logged onto the CEAC and both fees were active.

I called nvc 8/30 and they said they received all documents. Everytime I check CEAC it says “Action Required: Submit requested documents”  I’m calling NVC right now to check for CC. Hope you get your interview date soon!!

Ahhh awesome yeah we are non-pivot so I didnt get that message.  Ours says complete and actually still says complete right now.  And thank you I really wish Mexico was not so backlogged but as it is, Case Complete should be a happy moment but we still have 7 months to go.

Good luck on yours too I hope you have a CC today and you have your interview date shortly thereafter.

Did you call NVC to find out for your CC? Or did you just check the website?

I called the morning of 9/10/2018 and the case was not complete.

I came back from lunch about 2pm and logged onto the CEAC and noticed that the AOS payment was gone.  So i called NVC once again and he told me my case was complete and to wait for notification for the interview as the next step.

  5. Here is my experience (FINAL 'this time for sure' update):

8/27/2018 - Called and received the case number and invoice ID number.  Gave them my email address and my wife's email address.

8/27/2018 - 11:30pm Pacific Time, I received an email with the welcome letter that also instructed us to pay the AOS fee & IV fee.  I immediately logged onto the CEAC and both fees were active.  I paid both fees.  Fees show as 'In Process'

8/28/2018 - 5pm sent I-864ez & AOS docs and IV docs to NVC via FedEx overnight shipping.

8/29/2018 - Both fees are charged to bank account but CEAC still shows 'In Process'.  10:00am FedEx packaged arrived at NVC and is signed for.

8/30/2018 - 9:00am Fees still show 'In Process'.  Called NVC to confirm they received and scanned my documents.  Informed that they have not yet been scanned in.

8/30/2018 - 1:00pm Both fees show as 'Paid' and DS-260 is active.  Spent 2 hours carefully filling out each section of the IV Application.  Printed all sections for review, Adriana and I went through it to make sure it was flawless.  Signed and Submitted DS-260 at 8:00pm.

8/31/2018 - 10:00am called NVC and agent tells me "I can confirm with you that we have received your DS-260 and all required documents.  Your case will now go for review which can take up to 3 weeks to reach a completed case.

9/10/2018 - Case Complete - So now we wait 7 months for an interview at Ciudad Juarez (in my estimation)

I also tried to submit for an NVC Expedite based on my medical condition.  I detailed the reason for the expedite request and detailed the medical condition.  Doctor provided documentation and recommendation for the urgency of my spouse moving to United States to care for me but....DENIED

Denials are always tough to swallow for applicants and their families. Especially when it seems like the applicant had all of the appropriate supporting evidence they needed like your MIL did. Truth is, a visa is never guaranteed. We always suggest hope for the best but prepare for the worst.

I agree that the right advice has already been given. Your MIL and BIL can certainly reapply after a comfortable amount of time. Hopefully, they will get it.

Thank you very much NuestraUnion for your warm words and thank you both for replying it makes us feel a lot better.

  7. Good morning All,

My mother-in-law and brother-in-law just finished there tourist visa interview and were denied due to not demonstrating ties to their home country.

Mother in Law is - 50 years of old

Brother in Law is 15 years old

There are from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico

They were 20 minutes early for their appointment and were asked:

    1. to BIL - How old are you?

    15 years old

    2. to BIL - Where are you going in USA?

    Disney World in Orlando, Florida

    3. to MIL - Where do you work?

    State Government of Yucatan

    4. to MIL - What do you do there?

    coordinator

    5. to MIL - What is your salary there?

answered with the salary and attempted to present the employment letter but CO refused it - MIL gathered that she didn't have a high enough salary.  Her salary is well above the poverty line as they are certainly middle class.

    6. to MIL - What is the cost of the travel?

    answered with cost

    7. to MIL - Do you have a husband?

    no

Then handed leaflet that explains the 214(b) denial and the Officer said "At the moment you do not appear fit for the tourist visa"

They were not able to demonstrate strong ties to home country.

MIL owns her own home for 18 years which she supplied her mortgage and ownership documents

She supplied an employment letter which shows she has work for the state government for 12 years in compliance and audit

She supplied her bank account showing savings enough to cover the trip and some

BIL showed school documents that he is a sophmore in high school with perfect grades

BIL showed documents and letter that he is a semi-professional soccer player on a national team

Not sure what else they could show that they will return.  They booked a hotel from December 19 to December 26 and stated as such in the application however they were not asked how long they will be there.

A lawyer in Merida advised MIL to try again in 6 months but nothing much will change so its difficult to to know where to go from here.  Any insight or advice will be greatly appreciated.

BTW the Consular Officer had a British Accent which seems odd....

I got an email from the juarez consulate technical team and they reverted everything back lol.  So my wife's appointments fingerprint and consular interview are back on as originally scheduled.  They said sorry for the inconvenience.  So I don't know if there was an IT issue that brought down the system or whatever.  Hopefully this time our appointments stick because I got hotels and other things to reserve in advance in Juarez.

Oh my goodness that is amazing!  After all this time they wanna additionally torture you lol.  So happy everything is working out.

Just out of curiosity which congressman are you working with?  You are in the Phoenix Area correct?  I have been in contact with Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema numerous times but her team is not getting good responses from Ciudad Juarez.  I emailed them just 2 days ago and received a reply that they are still waiting for an explanation from CDJ why the interviews are taking 6 months to schedule spouse visas.  I have also reached out to Congressman Raul Grijalva, i emailed Senator John McCain (RIP), Attorney General Jeff Sessions and emailed the State Department.  No good replies except for Congresswoman Sinema.

I went to the Juerez medical center yesterday and the cost of everything plus shots was over $300 which was unexpected because the web site says it is only $220 per adult. After taxes and any additional shots which they only administered two to me it came out to be $7,900 pesos.....and they said it could even go up to being $9,000 pesos..... just a heads up....

Thank you so much for the heads up Shalom!

  14. Well, we are approved!!!  I think....

    Priority Date - January 5, 2018

    NOA 2            - July 3, 2018

Quite the complicated situation.  I'll keep it simple:

    June 5, 2018 - Changed Address

    June 26, 2018 -

    my_logo.png

Notice Was Returned To USCIS Because The Post Office Could Not Deliver It

On June 26, 2018, the Post Office returned a notice we sent you for your Form I-130,

    -  I called USCIS and they apparently failed to include my apartment number for my address change notification letter.  3 Agents later...address is corrected and notice was to be sent out right away.

July 5, 2018 - Never recieved notification so I called to check the address is correct.  Three Agents later they tell me I was approved on July 3, 2018 and the notice will be sent out to me.  I told the agent that online is not showing my approval and the agent said they have been having issues with the online platform.  I called a 4th agent and she confirmed that we are approved and notification will be sent in the mail and our case will now go to NVC for consular processing.

    July 3, 2018 - I-130 case was approved (apparently)
