  1. Yes you can, K-3 will get an EAD the expires same time as the I-94, and then wait until just before 2nd wedding anniversary and then file to adjust status for $1010, this will effectively avoid the conditional green card and lifting of conditions.

K-3 EAD is less than conditions lifting.

    Hi YuAndDan:

Where can I find this information you just gave me. I got a different answer earlier and I don't want him to apply for an EAD and he is not suppose to do so. I hope you understand.

    Thanks,

    LadyLove2006 :)(L)(F)

K-3 is a 2 year multi entry visa, and gets a 2 year I-94, so can file for AOS anytime during the period of the I-94, in virtualy all cases the I-94 expires after 2nd wedding anniversary.

Also read the EAD guide here on VJ, it explains when EAD can be filed for. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3ead

    Hi:

    Thanks for the information.

    Be Blessed!

  3. Hi All:

I have some questions concerning Adjustment of Status and Removing Conditions-

My husband is in the US on a K-3 Visa and wants to apply for his EAD. I know that the fees have increased drasticallly for AOS. Can he apply for the EAD prior to adjusting status and pay the $340 for EAD? or will he have to do it all at once and pay the $1,010.00? or can we wait after our 2 year Anniversary and Remove Conditions?

I am so confused right now and I need clarity on this matter.

    Please help.

    Thanks

  4. Hi All: :)

It has been awhile. I am enjoying being with my husband and he is adjusting very well. We live in a small town and he is not used to not seeing awhole lot of people around. Coming from a place of millions of people, I can understand how he feels :) . He loves most of the food here and I have become Little Mrs. Betty Crocker  I haven't cooked so much in my entire life and I am loving it and he enjoys my cooking as I do his.

We are so happy together and I know that things are going to get even better. The only major obstacle that we are facing now is the fact that he doesn't have a job(until we file the paperwork and it's approved) and as a man, it is getting to him and I am being very supportive in this area. He wants to take care of us. Oh yeah, by the way, we are expecting our first child in January. I didn't tell you guys. I wanted to wait until he arrived. While I was in Africa the last time, :) we conceived and we are going to be very proud parents soon. God is truly AWESOME!!

November 9, 2007 will be our 1 year anniversary. Can u believe it? Wow!! that time has really gone by. There is so much to celebrate and I would like for all of you to keep us in your prayers, as we desire your sincere prayers. I will continue to pray for all of those waiting on their loved ones to arrive and for those who have their loved ones by their side, Hold on and keep the faith.

    Love you all.

  5. Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to update you all.

My honey is finally home and adjusting very well :dance::dance::dance: . He is getting used to eating all of this food that we have over here and his favorite so far is Hamburger Steak, with gravy and Fried Chicken. I am sure there will be others as the days roll by.

The climate over there is alot different from where I live and he has been cold, so I have to adjust the thermostat for the AC so that he can be comfortable. We laugh about it because I was so hot when I visited him in Africa and one night he forgot to get fuel for the generator and we had to sleep outside under the stars.

We cooked dinner together last night and he made one of my favorite dishes- Coconut Rice- Absolutely loved it.

Looking forward to a long and prosperous life with my sweetie. I know that there maybe some rough days ahead and as long as the good days outweigh the bad and as long as we have God and we pray, love and respect one another, everything will work out fine.

Keep us in your prayers always.

    MuchLove

  6. :) Hi Everyone: :):dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

The wait is almost over and my honey is finally coming home to me. He is scheduled to arrive in Atlanta on Sunday, October 7, 2007 and I will be waiting with BELLS on.

God's Timing is the best. I have missed my husband since leaving Nigeria in May and I must tell you, that we will have some major celebrating to do as soon as he arrives.

I thank all of you for your support and guidance throughout this part of our journey. Much love to you all.

Amazingly I still have some house cleaning to do.

    I will keep you posted.

    LadyLove2006 :)(L)(F)

P.S. To my friend Renee, I will see you in Atlanta. Love Ya Girl

  7. I am so sorry to hear that this is happening. Hopefully he will get the documents before his interview.

I remember when I used to send items to my husband in Nigeria and it would take months for them to get there, and I thank God that they would arrive although not when I wanted them to, and this was using the USPS. I would always do an investigation through USPS and normally the packages would arrive the following week after the investigation was done. I thought that was interesting.

When my husband had his interview in August, I again, sent the documents through USPS, for one reason, it was alot cheaper and two, he told me that I should, to save the money. We both knew what could happen, and we believed God for the best. I remember I sent it out on July 20, 2007 and I was told that it would take 8-10 business days. I had heard that before, anyway, this time, the documents arrived a week before his interview, August 13, 2007. We were both pleased about that.

If it helps, you may want to call and have an investigation done to find out where the package could be.

I will be praying for you.

  12. Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to share my excitement with everyone that I found out today that our I129 petition was sent to Lagos on Aug. 22.:dance::dance:

Is it a good idea to call or email Lagos and ask them when they receive the petition!

    Thanks!

Hi and many congratulations to you and your husband.:dance::dance:

It will be a good idea to scan the letter from NVC and the I-129F Approval letter and let your husband take it to the Embassy and from there he will more than likely be given an interview date. Please make sure that they have your information uploaded in their system. If you are not sure, send an e-mail with the Case # in the subject line and they will reply you back in a few days. It worked for me and I hope that it works for you. Keep us posted and God Bless.

  15. Hi All:

My husband called me at 11:00 AM my time and 4:00 PM his time and was approved for his visa today and he is scheduled to pick it up on Monday, August 27, 2007 :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

Thank you all for the many prayers and well wishes. :)(L)

He stated that he had a very nice lady to interview him and she didn't ask alot of questions. He also stated that she was very impressed with the way the information was arranged in the notebook that I had prepared for him. She looked at our e-mails and pics. And after that she said "Welcome To America"

    The questions were:

    How did we meet?

When were the times I was in Nigeria?

    What were my siblings names?

    Where did I live?

    What was my phone number?

Thanks again for all of you and God Bless!

  16. Hi All:

I spoke with my honey today and he informed me that the Embassy rescheduled his interview for tomorrow morning. He stated that there were so many people there that he wasn't able to interview today. Just another day of waiting. And God is still Good.

I will update you all on tomorrow.

Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. Don't stop praying for us.
