Absolutely, I have regrets. I went the k1 route and would absolutely do the cr1 now if I had to do it over again. Our k1 visa took 10 months (at the time cr1s were taking 12 to 14 months). We filed for AOS and EAD/AP in January....,my husband received his EAD/AP on June 30....he has not been able to drive or work or travel (outside the US) for 7 months......and even now worries about the travel because he doesn’t have the green card.....so absolutely YES......I wish we would have done the CR1

We still have a long wait one it reaches Abu Dhabi embassy.  But glad to see this much movement! 😊 

We received an email from the NVC on April 2nd that stated the following:
 
The National Visa Center (NVC) received your fiance(e)'s approved I-129F petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). NVC will forward the petition to the U.S. Embassy in ABU DHABI, UAE. The U.S. Embassy will contact your fiance(e) when they are ready to schedule a visa interview.
In the meantime, please have your fiance(e) and his or her children visit http://ceac.state.gov and complete Form DS-160, the online nonimmigrant visa application that is used for a K visa.

Then I also received a second email addressed for my fiance from the NVC the same day. He then submitted his DS-160 on April 6th. At the time the first available date was April 25th and we still chose to select a date closer to the Travel Ban decision. We chose June 28th, then later changed it to July 12th. 
 
You submit your DS-160 and once you pay the fee you are able to schedule your interview. This is the only thing we found and you can select the Abu Dhabi tab. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/list-of-posts-k1-k3-visas.html (for some reason I can never open the pdf on my mac)
 
Again, I didn't get any packet from the embassy. I did however received an email this past Tuesday, June 26th with further instructions. You may want to look through the pdf I mentioned above and get as much possible and then wait for the actual email from the Embassy. It will probably be sent to you a couple of weeks prior to the interview as they did with mine.

Just got an update today that my case is leaving NVC and is in transit to our embassy. NOA2 was 6/6 and NVC Case Number assigned on 6/27.

Consider the MNL embassy one of the few remaining embassies that would allow you to schedule/get the medical done once it reached the embassy and was "Ready". Some make you wait for Packet 3 and then P4. 
Ie: Canada:
I received my NVC case number on May 22nd.
Did not become "Ready" until May 30th. 
Did not get my P3 until June 14th.
P4: June 18th
And was unable to schedule my interview until June 29th.
AND the earliest interview I could get was Aug 1st.
That's 64 days from "Ready" to interview date...
...count your blessings.

It doesn't help that people have become K1 visa "experts" from that reality TV show on TLC that has some completely incorrect information on it.
Just focus on what you are doing. We can't change the opinions of others.

Just a quick update.... we got our case number from NVC on 6./27, after a 6/6 NOA2. The case hasn't shown up yet at the embassy, but probably will soon. We do have our medical exam scheduled for 7/16, so moving right along!
 
Just a few things left for us: attend medical exam, get police certificate, pay the interview fees, schedule and have the interview... All of our paperwork and documentation is ready to go, we reviewed it all yesterday!
 
My fiance is generally fairly nervous about the whole process, but after she scheduled the medical exam today I could tell she was so excited! I can't wait!!! Still hoping for an end of August POE.

We have age gap, marriages, kids and police records so it'll be interesting to see if either of us gets approved much sooner or later. 

All you can do is admit it and explain that you were under the impression that you acquired US citizenship through your father when he brought you here but you have since discovered that this is not the case. You will need to express huge remorse for your error and hope they accept your explanation. 

We have the same date as you. And we are still waiting. Todays date is june 29th 2018. It is so frustrating. I tried contacting them. On may 16th through the outside of  normal processing time through their website.
I received a reply 30 days later on june 16 saying they are stiil reviewing our case. When they make a decision, they will mail it to me. So each time you put in an outside of normal processing time request it will take 30 days if they dont get back to you sooner.

Wow. If you have to wait that long, keep an eye on the expiration date of NOA2. Maybe you need to extend it?
