Hi. I want to ask about joint sponsor. Do they accept joint sponsor in abu dhabi? And what are the requirements needed for them? Do they need their passport copy and birth certificate along with the W2, paystub and other proof of financial stability?

We got approved... though I hear it was not an easy interview compared to many of the reviews for our embassy, lots of questions.... but the important part is we got our approvals and can book plane tickets as soon as she has her visa in hand!

Thanks @K1visaHopeful I think you are right....this is too stressful to have to argue something that even logically doesn't make sense to someone with immigration law experience that is supposed to know better. Thanks again for all your help!

I'd save yourself some trouble and fill the I134's out yourselves based on your supporting documents.
I wouldnt trust bringing any document filled out by them after your story. Do it yourself and if you get stuck ask us here.
    Fire them yesterday.

Yes - I am the USC (petitioner) Sorry!

And YES! 5 THAT is what I thought!! Arrghhh...after having a slight heart attack receiving that crazy email from our lawyers paralegal this morning. Thank you for mucking it out with me and clarifying what I thought!

Hold on! I get it. You definitely weren't clear in the beginning if you were the USC or the bene, lol. Why have you included the USC petitioner (yourself) in the Co-sponsor's household?
    1) The Co-sponsor
    2) Co-sponsor's child 1
    3) Co-sponsor's child 2
    4) Co-sponsor's child 3
    5) The foreign beneficiary (K1)

So that makes 5 in the Co-sponsor's household.

Think of it like this: the Co-sponsor will be responsible for "fostering" the foreign beneficiary and any K2's should there come a time that the USC petitioner is financially unable to. USCIS could care less about if the USC petitioner can support themselves. They are already a US citizen and are entitled to government programs. They just dont want to have to be responsible for any foreigners. Hence the need for a promise by a co-sponsor to be financially responsible for the foreign beneficiary and k2's if the petitioner is unable.
    Your household would be 3.
    1) USC petitioner
    2) K1 Foreign Beneficiary
    3) Petitioner's USC child

That's the problem by using the word "fiance" in these forums. It never describes who you are talking about.

Posting an update to our situation after that whole fiasco with the USCIS and not ever getting our NOA2 hardcopy due to a mistake on their end.

So after having gotten all the way to the point of having an interview scheduled only to have our case sent back to the USCIS from the embassy we finally got a hardcopy of our NOA2. I've updated my timeline. There's no way to reflect the oddball events of our case so I'm treating it as if we never got an approval way back in June and it was just barely approved now.  You can read up on my older posts to see what I'm talking about as I don't feel like re-hashing the past all over again. I'm just happy we finally got something.

    NOA1 Received : 11/8/17
    NOA2 Received : 8/3/18

Old website still says received 11/8/17.....ridiculous
    New website says approved 8/3/18

A whopping 270 days from start to finish....again, ridiculous

I still don't consider us quite in the clear yet so just praying that we don't have any more out of ordinary experiences.

Good luck to those who are waiting still.

This process takes patience to a whole new level.

No, you don't need a marriage certificate. You are allowed to apply for a SSN with your current passport with visa in it and valid I-94.

If you're the woman in this relationship; apply for it in your maiden name first, then go back after marriage with the same documents + marriage certificate to change your maiden to married.

Just be fast. They won't issue a SSN when there is less than 14 days left on your I-94.

Ben & Jela reacted to Goldfish_0529 in US EMBASSY UAE: Waiting for Packet3 2018 Thread
You can actually do the ds160 while waiting for the packet3. As long as there will be no changes on the info your fiance provided on the ds160. You can start filling the info now and save it but the system can only keep the unsubmitted ds160 online for 30days from the time you saved it.

Please be reminded as stated by @RickyandJoc that upon creating the immigrant account to schedule the interview, you need to input your submitted ds160. Thus, ds160 first before making an immigration account.
  15. Thanks
Ben & Jela reacted to RickyandJoc in US EMBASSY UAE: Waiting for Packet3 2018 Thread
@Ben & Jela, You can fill-up DS-160 BUT do not submit yet.  Just SAVE it, so by the time you get ready status, you saved time.  always check your status on CEAC tracker (from Approved to READY) &  while waiting, prepare all your documents that takes time to request like police clearance from home country & other countries you stayed for 6 months or more, CENOMAR, birth certificates, proof of relationship, Affidavit of Support with proof, etc.
When case-READY, then create K1 account (immigrant visa).
Upon receipt of packet 3, submit DS-160 (non immigrant visa), For immigrant visa (K1-green website) choose your delivery/pick up of visa, pay by credit card, then you can schedule appointment.  Hope this helps 😊

The note to the right of the question states that you use the number you received from USCIS. You did not receive the NVC case number from USCIS therefore you use the WAC# (as that is the number you received from USCIS).
Everyone answers this differently. I have never heard of it causing problems for anyone however they answer but if you want to answer it correctly you will use the WAC# as the note to the side clearly tells you what to use.

Hi! Can anybody share their experience regarding what and amount of proof for continuous ongoing relationship that we should bring in the interview. Im really confused what to prepare. Should I prepare again the one that we included in the initial filing and add some more for the rest of the months after the petition? Can anybody share what they brought in with them in the interview? Any input is greatly appreciated! Thanks much

The Indian CO is by no means *obligated* to speak to the US citizen petitioner. Again, it is up to their discretion to have the citizen at the window and when. So the US citizen should not *expect* to be allowed up at all--it's the beneficiary's interview, after all.

HOWEVER, recent first-hand experiences, including mine, have shown that the Indian COs do sometimes allow the USC to be at the window for the interview, whether alone or with the beneficiary. Read through the Mumabai reviews and you will see some examples.

Again, it's up to the CO, so a USC planning to go should be aware that they may or may not be allowed at the window.

It IS meant to encourage proper filing. How many times have we read in here about filers not even visiting within the 2 year limit, or not sending originals or certified divorce decrees or criminal record documents because they were "too hard to get" before they wanted to file? I'm glad they are implementing this because they are realizing that the immigration process has been taking way too long and a huge reason for that is because there are way too many careless filers impeding the process and making others who read instructions and have done their research suffer with a longer wait.
It wont affect honest mistakes which is good but you have to agree that the resources are there to apply properly so by tying up government agencies with petitions whose filers did not do their due diligence to ensure they filed properly is an injustice to those of us who do.
That's why we are all here, right?😉

There is nothing to be afraid of, you will not be denied a visa simply because of a history of TB infection. But you should tell your spouse, and your physician, because they will both find out during this process. To clarify, what you had was active TB which required a full course of treatment. You are now in remission, but still have inactive TB lingering in your system and there is the possibility that it could revert to active disease again in the future. (Lots and lots of people have been exposed to TB and have inactive disease that never causes a problem. Although there may be social stigma involved with TB infection, it is not a disease of the disadvantaged and there is no shame in acquiring an infection.) The reason this background is important is that USCIS' primary objective in requiring immigrants to undergo a medical exam is to prevent the spread of TB and other infectious diseases inside the US. Therefore, someone who has had TB in the past but is now cured or in remission, and is not a risk of infecting other people, is of little or no concern to USCIS. Their objective in the screening process is to make sure you are not one of those (infectious) people and, if you are, to make sure you are not infectious when you immigrate to the US. Since your examining physician will readily figure out that you have a history of TB (if you have a PPD test placed--which you should not--it will come back positive and they will order a chest x-ray, where your lobectomy will be apparent), what they will do is to require you to provide 3 sputum samples over 3 consecutive days. These samples will be cultured for 8 weeks to see if there is any Tb growth. If there is (which is unlikely, based on what you report), then you are still infectious and will require additional antibiotic treatment, and will then have to repeat the above process until the cultures are negative. If there is no growth after 8 weeks (i.e., cultures are negative), then you will not require any additional treatment and will be allowed to continue the immigration process. (You will also be required to notify the public health department where you live in the US, but that is just a formality.) Bottom line, your immigration process is likely to be extended by an additional 8 weeks while you wait for the results of the culture testing, but you will not be prevented from immigrating to the US. And you should tell your spouse because it's nothing to be ashamed of.

My parents, little sister and I were all diagnosed with TB in 1994. My dad and mom had the disease, my sister and I had the infection. With the infection, there is nothing visible on the x-ray but the mantoux test they did came back positive.

Anyway, of course I had to bring it up at the medical examen. I was totally not prepared for this to back it up with any documentation. We ended up calling both of my parents confirming the dates and the type of TB. It was a whirlwind of weeks of finding all the paperwork from diagnosis to treatment to paperwork where the doc confirms I was TB free. Don't worry as long as you have all the documentation to prove treatment and a doctor confirming you were cured after treatment.

The only thing that had to be done is I had to get another TB test done after arriving in the US. They informed Tennessee Dept. of Health and a week later I had another physical and x-rays done. I had to decline the skin test as that will always show up positive after taking all those medicines. I urge you to be truthful at the medical. At first I wanted to say nothing either but I had to, and looking back I'm glad I did. (Plus, they ask you if you have ever been treated for TB) Your visa will not be in danger, I promise. Just be honest and collect all the documents needed.
