Highmystic got a reaction from 2022 in do they contact our relatives on the ds-160 form for the k1 fiance visa?
o.k.,  I went to the state dept and looked.  I personally did not do it, so I will ask my wife when she gets home if she did.  I hate to ask, because she might say "I told you I did!" LOL

Just a note of celebration!  Wife's US Passport got here today, after 12 weeks and one day since they received it.  Talk about timing!  Her DL's was to expire today and could not renew without
a Green card  which they kept at the ceremony, and the certificate we had to send in for the Passport.    Great timing!

Bring a couple of pictures since you first met, wedding, and up to the point of the AOS interview.  Be selective, don't bring them all.  But, do bring some.  It is better to have them and not need them than not have them at all.

Our officer did ask for pictures, even though we had submitted them throughout our process (we included some with the K1 and some with the AOS).  She was a few months from retiring and had been doing it for a while.  She stated that she always looked at pictures because she could tell when something is being faked (or not).  So, again, be selective, maybe include ones with friends and family and some that are not as posed (like when they take it and you are not looking, etc).

My wife lived in Japan and Malaysia (I think Japan was just under a year though),  she had a friend there in Malaysia who got it for her and mailed it to the Philippines, but it took a couple months.  Perhaps you have a friend in those places to act on your behalf.

Another option,   you could go to the Philippines, spend time with him and his family,  get married there, and apply for a spousal visa.

    Hi guys,
I was just wandering if anyone is going through this same situation?
I did have my appointment January 11th in Montreal and sadly the criminal record I got from the RCMP was the wrong one and I was ask to send the correct one together with my passport which I was able to do that February 8th.
today is March 17th  and I haven’t heard anything from the consulate since then not even a confirmation if they received my passport with the correct documents I sent back.
any idea what I can do? Been stuck in Montreal for months now.
    Thanks.

    1.  Yes.

Your work is a private matter between you and your employers.  There is no impact on your immigration status.

What OP’s wife likely believed is that the short time both of them were together would have been a potential red flag to USCIS adjudicators.

that concern is what drove me and my fiancée towards the K-1 pathway versus getting married and doing CR-1. We dated IRL for less than a month while she was visiting the US before we proposed to each other and just knew each other as video game buddies beforehand. We simply thought the circumstances and the timeline would have raised too many eyebrows

Highmystic reacted to JeanneAdil in How to sign prenup while living in a different country ? Morocco
In Morocco there is no such thing as common marriage assets. What is yours before and acquired during marriage will remain yours after divorce. Same case for your partner.
the USC can create a Prenup agreement and take to Morocco before u consummate the marriage
get it signed with witnesses (and if you need to divorce later u will need to be able to provide those (moroccan witnesses at a divorce hearing to validate the prenup)  Is it worth it???

Understand that this only covers property aquired before the marriage
in most US states after marriage and living together ,  property gained is community property

Pre nup means exactly that (pre -before and nup -marriage)

Now not sure why anyone wants to do this as its going to be pretty hard to convince a Moroccan CO that the relationship is real when u are not willing to combine assets   /Moroc CO look for the USC and Moroccan to do exactly that -combine assets execially when there are any "red flag issues"

The Philippines is just about the only developing country where the U.S. consulate metaphorically hands out visas like candy.  I see no need for you to include more than a couple of texts and a few photos together.  Your recent meeting satisfies that requirement.

When you file the I-129F petition, read carefully, interpret literally, and answer completely and accurately.  In addition, become an "A" student of the entire immigration process.

Destruction of a green card might be a Federal crime.  Ask your police.
If the first policeman you talk to won't help you, politely keep asking for supervisors until one helps you.
