Adam A got a reaction from Sea Leslie in US Visa Interview with a 221G Administrative Processing Result
Not necessarily that after ready the visa will be issued soon,  I have been on ready status for 4 weeks, case updates at least twice a week,  it was AP first week then after ready so total 5 weeks so far, called them every week with same answer that if they needed any extra papers they would have contacted me and that I have to wait.

Hope you guys will get something sooner but it's always better to be realistic.

Yes. My advice is to avoid it at all costs (if you are Jews). Once you get married in Israel, even NOT through the Rabbinical Courts, the divorce must be done using the Rabbinical court. It has to be a consensual “GET” meaning that if one party refuses to divorce, you might be stuck in an unwanted marriage for years.

Btw, I’m not sure what you meant by “married”. In Israel you are either married (religious+civil) or not married. Getting married not using the rabbinical court is illegal in Israel.

I would advise against any ceremony which could be seen as a marriage before applying for a K-1.  Many have regretted doing that when it resulted in a denial..........best to either marry legally there and apply for a spousal visa or marry in the US via a K-1, then return there for a celebration ceremony..........
and just to give you a short analysis of the benefits of a CR-1 vs a K-1, I offer the following:

Every couple has their own priorities, and each couple must decide which visa is better for their situation.
    K-1

        More expensive than CR-1
Requires Adjustment of Status after marriage (expensive and requires a lot of paperwork)
Spouse can not leave the US until she/he receives approved Advance Parole (approx 5-6 months)
Spouse can not work until she/he receives EAD (approx 5-6 months)
Some people have had problems with driver licenses, Social Security cards, leases, bank account during this period
Spouse will not receive Green Card for many months after Adjustment of Status is filed.

    CR-1

        Less expensive than K-1
        No Adjustment of Status(I-485, I-131, I-765) required.
Spouse can immediately travel outside the US
Spouse is authorized to work immediately upon arrival.
Spouse receives Social Security Card and Green Card within 2 or 3 weeks after entering the US
Opening a bank account, getting a driver's license, etc. are very easily accomplished with GC, SS card, and passport.
Spouse has legal permanent Resident status IMMEDIATELY upon entry to US.

I'm sorry I have to disagree with you. HE has an investment in this relationship and as much as he can contribute he wants to. He is not changing her character, just wants the interview to be successful for the two of them. JMHO.

First off being honest is the best thing that any of us can recommend. Next, rambling on can get you into deeper trouble. If your answer is short and sweet and to the point there isn't much that they CO will zero in on for additional scrutiny. But, if you ramble then you may say something that the CO begins to question and she may find herself out of a visa which she never intended.

I was at my wife's interview and I wasn't able to be with her during her conversation she had were her interviewing CO but, where I sat in the waiting area I was in front of a window where I listened in on another interview and THAT CO was able to unearth a scam that this girl was trying to perpetuate. She was denied and probably received a 10 year band or even a life time band. Sucks to be her.

Since your husband is now outside the US and cannot enter without an approved spousal visa, he cannot sponsor himself.  You as the petitioner are the primary sponsor and you are unemployed so your combined income is zero.  Your only option is to get another joint sponsor.  Your attorney should be fired, clearly from the letter he or she does not understand US immigration.  Not to mention the grammatical errors.  Get a new joint sponsor and send a new I-864 from the joint sponsor with supporting documents including IRS tax transcripts.  Good luck!

Yes! This is the one before the final email. Next email: you’ll receive your EMS tracking number for the passport delivery. Double check your visa and the expiration date on your issued passport, once you receive it.

    Good luck!

Based on the discussions I had with the case officer he informed me of these steps:

the first AP is the immigration unit doing the paperwork for approving the visa
the first ready is a notice that they are finished and the paperwork is being sent for visa issuance
the second AP is the visa issuance people doing their own paperwork
the second ready is that the visa has been issued and is currently being processed for delivery

Then "issue" is posted and the visa has left the BIG house to YOUR house.

Once you get that second ready, it should be sent out within a few days, although we received our visa before any of the various websites that allow you to look up the status said that it had been sent out. Your mileage may vary.

Adam A reacted to Hypnos in Conditional 2-year Green Card or 10-year Green Card for K1
It's not about how long they've been married at their interview, it's how long someone has been married on the day of their I-485 approval that determines whether or not they receive a 2 year conditional green card or a ten year unconditional green card. This is not always the same day as the interview, if their case has to be continued for supervisor review, or perhaps issue an RFE.
If, on the day of approval they have been married for less than two years then they will receive a two year conditional green card that they will then have to remove conditions from in almost two years time.
If, on the day of approval they have been married for two years or more then they will receive a ten year unconditional green card for which no RoC is required.
If someone should have received a two year green card but instead received a ten year green card then this can cause them serious issues down the line, despite it being a USCIS error. They will need to file for RoC, and by not doing so will go out of status once it all gets straightened out. Theoretically, they could wind up being deported over it.

This is always the risk when you undertake such long visits that the CBP Officer (rightfully) questions whether you have a job back home, whether you are actually living here in installments.

I visited over 40 times on the VWP. Shortest visit was 4 days and the longest 3 weeks but mostly a week at a time. Cumulatively I spent more time with my husband than two maxed out visits and no problems at all. Short, frequent visits are much better received than two or three “mega visits”. I would never recommend long visits, especially in a country where the average person has more fingers than annual vacation days.

Knowing each other online is different than meeting in person.  I spoke to my husband for 9 months online/phone only before we met in person the first time.  We then carried a long-distance relationship for 3 years before we got married, after seeing each other in person and spending time together as often as we could.  Some trips were a couple of weeks, some only 3 or 4 days.  It was during our physical visits back and forth where we got a taste of what each other was like in person and whether we really clicked as a couple.  And it was also during our physical visits that we met each others' family members and friends.   It was easier for us to visit back and forth because our borders are closer together, obviously, and also less expensive in traveling.

I could never seeing myself marrying a person and making a life-long commitment to that person after a first visit, but it does happen---and there are successful marriages that come from that.  I wish you luck.

Up to 60,000 foreigners from seven majority-Muslim countries had their visas cancelled after President Donald Trump’s executive order blocked them from travelling to the US, the State Department said Friday.
That figure contradicts a Justice Department lawyer’s statement Friday during a court hearing in Virginia about the ban. The lawyer in that case said that about 100,000 visas had been revoked.
The State Department clarified that the higher figure includes diplomatic and other visas that were actually exempted from the travel ban, as well as expired visas.Trump’s order, issued last Friday, temporarily bans travel for people from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Libya and Yemen. It also temporarily halts Te refugee program.

I don't know the situation, but since it was your son who petitioned you I'm assuming he's the one who sponsored you and has the financial responsibility to take care of your needs, whether that be helping you get around on a daily basis or hiring someone to do that, etc. Your daughter's best bet is to return to her home country so she can begin the ticker on her ban time (if she has one) and while she waits that out, you can visit her a few months out of the year. Meanwhile, work on bringing her back via the right avenues and getting waivers for her overstay, if need be. I know this isn't what you want to hear and distance from loved ones is hard, trust me - we have all been through it unfortunately, but her staying here illegally will only affect her future. She can't legally work or drive and every time she walks out of the house is a liability of her being detained. Immigration takes a lot of time and sacrifice. I wish your family the best of luck.

Also a bit unfair, in my opinion,  that he's getting the book thrown at him while the US spouse is getting off scot-free since she knowingly assisted him in this.  She's extremely lucky to get immunity and that she's not facing any charges herself, or at least a fine.

But you are still a Pakistani passport holder? So you will still go through extensive AP.

They may release your passport to you (some embassies will do that) and pause your case. They won’t expedite it. Don’t be surprised if they don’t give you an update on your case. No one can say how long AP will take.
