Thanks! we decided that he attends the interview and while we continue with trying to get the police clearance. it is difficult as requirements have changed and they are asking for a consular card from the Mexican consular.

I agree with @Sparkle Sparkle 100%. Take your chances worst case scenario is AP if interview is successful.  And you more than enough time to get the certificate and send it to the embassy and your visa will be issued. Because with the current presidential proclamation about visas and limited consular operations you don’t want to waste any time for the small windows of opportunity available.

Thanks 🙏🏿 now we need to give it traction. Get as many signatures to pass it through so it can be considered. I’m posting everywhere I can, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram etc.

Isn't USA also one of the very if ONLY country to offer siblings visas/greencards. And there are so many petitions its backed up for years?

Over a year ago the current administration listed IR5 parent visas as ones that they considered contributed to “ chain migration” and should be removed as part of a move to “points based” visas.  Predated the COVID EO by a year or two.

Well, about selling her the tickets, the airlines always state it is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct travel documents etc to travel. In the normal course of things people often get visas after they book tickets (not to the US maybe but you need it for a schengen visa for example). I really don’t think you can blame the airline for selling her the ticket. I am surprised though that she wasn’t warned in Ukraine that she would face a problem in Zurich. (I presume she was booked on a through ticket?)

Direct from the embassy consular section. I spoke to a consular officer and they’re saying they’re monitoring the covid situation so they will be closed until further notice. My guess here is 22nd when the executive order expires of 1st July when most flights start flying out and states are almost fully opened.

Haji delco reacted to SalishSea in CEAC SAYS REFUSED AFTER BEEN ON AP SINCE 24TH ALL EVIDENCE SENT IN
There are many, many threads going round here today on this.  So far, it seems it was a site-wide change in semantics only.  In other words, you were in AP yesterday, and you are still in AP today, but they have renamed it.

A 221g *is* a refusal....a soft refusal, generally allowing the applicant to submit additional evidence or documents.  The new nomenclature just names it as such.

This is my take on it from reading about it here on VJ.  Please keep us posted on your case.

Why do they want transcripts?  Because too many people committed fraud.  They would fill out and sign tax forms with false information (which they never then submitted to the IRS) to meet income guidelines.  Requiring tax transcripts prove what was actually filed with the IRS, which people are less likely to misrepresent level of income on.

Hello guys. Dad went for his interview this morning and I contacted the embassy to allow my mom to go with him as he’s over 65. Unfortunately they couldn’t issue the visa today as they required dna testing for myself, my dad and mom before they can proceed. So another 2months wil surely be added to their wait times.

    Hi all... new member here.

I just wanted to put something out there that may help others.

I'm a USC applying for my wife's IR1. We're both living abroad in HU with our two kids. USCIS approved us way back on Valentine's Day and the case was supposed to be transferred to NVC within 6 to 8 weeks.

Well, it never arrived there. When I contacted my attorney, he said we should wait and that they were running behind. So we waited. And contacted him again. He unfortunately was very unhelpful. Anyhow, after waiting 5 months, I started contacting NVC and they told me nothing was received yet.

So I opened a case at USCIS... apparently they never sent the file over. Either they forgot it or misplaced it or whatever.

Do not wait for your attorney or some other party or just sit around on your hands and knees if you were approved by USCIS but still haven't heard from NVC. I should have done something way prior. So I just wanted to let you guys know that you can open a case with USCIS if something similar happens to you.

Anyhow, we are DQ as of Dec 17 and waiting for the IL.

Happy Holidays all! Hope this info helps someone out

Empirical data I gathered shows there's 2 main releasing events every month when the majority of people receive their ILs in a batch in the ealy morning hours of a certain day - once around the 10th of the month, and once around 20th. There can be ILs outside those events but they belong to the few, not the many. At least that was my personal research

Ok seems like my mom’s application was jealous of my dad’s application after he got IL end of last week. I emailed nvc expedite last night for her case to be transferred to my dad’s consulate to be interviewed together however This morning I woke up and got email that my mom’s interview had been scheduled.
