  1. I just FedEx'd my I-129F last week and I am concerned after reading this site extensively.

    Can anyone comment on -

1 - The passport photos that were included were not perfectly to the dimensions requested, they were alittle bigger if memory serves. They were actually taken in Manila.

2 - My G-325a was the new form and my Fiancee's was the old form (good through 10/1) which I just realized looking at my original packet. Anyone know if this will blow the brain circuits of some USCIS person?

    1. I went to a local mail box business to have my passport photos taken and when the owner cut them, I later came home to find them a different size than Jinky's so I carefully cut them to the same size. I honestly don't think they measure them with a stick.

    2. As long as the old form hasn't expired (10/1), they should accept it.

What are the differences between the old and new forms? I'm in the same situation with my fiance. Also I think at the bottom at says the old forms can be used until the end of the year...

  2. The petitioners employment history is essential.

With that said, it would not hurt to "translate" the names of your Fiance's places of employment, for clarity.

Highly improbable that you would receive an RFE for your Fiance's employment history, or the inability of a case officer to understand it.

On my fiance's employment history attachment I listed all her jobs and internships. However, they're all in portugues. For example: she worked at the federal university called "Universidade Federal de Piaui." Should I translate this to "Federal University of Piaui? or am I simply just showing that she has worked in the past regardless of where?

Anybody else have experience with this? RFEs for example???

    Thanks,

    Matt

Should I give an explanation of each job together with my finace's title?

  4. Not stupid. When it comes to this process, not asking questions is stupid.

Depends on what stage of process you are in. Are you sending this as part of your I-129F evidence, or is your case at the consulate?

If you are filing your I-129F petition, copies are just fine. If you are supplying evidence to the consulate or taking evidence to the consular interview, the original is better.

They're for my I-129F (proof I was in Brazil within the last 2 years). They were sent by the bank, but to me they look the same as the copies I could have downloaded from the internet.

    Thanks for the quick responses,

    Matt

  5. I'm a student in Arizona, but my parents live in Washington state. Could I file my petition through their address even though I plan on living here (in AZ) after my fiance and I get married? That way I could apply through NSC and take advantage of the shorter wait time. Did anyone on this site do anything like that???

    Where's your legal residency?

AZ, but i've been told that doesn't matter. It's where you live that determines where you file...

  7. I pretty much have everything ready to go at this point for the petition, but I forgot to have my fiance send a signed letter of intent to marry within 90 days and a SIGNED attachment to her G-325A.

Can I send the packet now just to get the ball rolling, knowing I'll probably get RFEs? Or, do RFEs slow the process considerably?

Maybe I'm just being impatient or perhaps just trying to avoid the wrath of an angry Brazilian women...

    Thanks,

    Matt

  8. I've been hearing different things about how to report employment history on the G-325 and I just wanted some clarification so I don't get RFE'd when I send the petition.

How do I list jobs that overlap eachother? I've heard some people have gotten RFE'd for that.

Also, my fiance doesn't have much of an employment history, but has had a number of internships. Should those be listed?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  9. Ok, So I've been looking through posts for the last couple days. I feel like a complete idiot because I can't figure out what's going on. Can someone please explain the whole IMBRA thing to me? I'm still waiting for my fiance to send her bio papers so I haven't actually begun the process(I'll be going through CSC) I have no criminal record. Is there anything I need to know before I send my papers? Will the "IMBRA thing" affect me?

    Thanks,

    Matt

  10. I'm from Arizona so I guess I go through California which (Just my luck) seems to take the longest. The waiting time seems to get longer throughout the year no matter where you file. I was wondering if the processing times might speed up. Perhaps around the beginning of next year for example. Does it go in waves, or should I just expect the waiting time to increase indefinitly.

    Just curious...

    Thanks,

    Matt

  11. I've been using Tel3 for over a year to call sao paulo & santos. It works well when i call a land line. But recently I've had to call a cell phone - and I have many problems. Most of the time it won't connect - says circuits are busy or gives a false busy signal. When I do get through, (about 1 in 20 tries) the reception is horrible and we are never able to hear each other.

I've seen other posts talking about the best price, but frankly I don't care what it costs... as long as it works.

Anybody here having better success calling cell phones?

I've been in a long-distance relationship now for a long time(Ela é de PI-Brasil) and have tried a # of services. Skype is great if you wanna talk with video and see eachother.(We do that on the weekends every now and then when my girlfriend has time to go to an internet cafe.) But calling during the week I use Pingo.com. It's easy to sign up and is about as cheap as you're gonna find(especially to São Paulo and Rio.). Sometimes it can be tough to get through when the lines are congested but the quality is great even to cell phone.

    Obrigado,

    Matt

  13. Hi I'm new to the site and new to the K1 visa process. I wanted to ask a few questions which have probably already been asked and might seem somewhat "stupid."

    1. I live in Arizona (going to school at ASU), but I'm not a resident (raised in WA state). So where do I file.

    2. Does my fiance need to sign and date the G-325A forms, or can I do that for her? Also, I'm trying to fill them out on my computer(it's a mac), but I'm only able to fill out the 1st page. Should I just fill the other pages out with a pen? Does it make a difference???

    3. I want to show proof of a relationship. I've got plenty of pictures and I've met a number of times with my fiance(she's Brazilian) since 2004. I wanted to send some printed emails with the packet, but they're all in Portuguese. Should I send them or would they be totally worthless?

These are all the questions I can think of right now, but I'm sure there'll be more. Any help provided will be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Matt
