Hey everyone,
My wife and I are new to this forum. Her K1 visa expires 08/14/2007, but because the state of WA took so long in sending our marriage certificate, we're only now beginning the process of filing for the AOS.
Anyways, I have a couple questions just to help me get started...
1. Do I only need one money order of $1010?
2. My wife does not have a birth certificate, let alone one translated in english. What should we do???
3. I only now started working full-time so the most evidence I could supply would be a few pay stubs and a letter from my employer. Will this be enough??? My stepfather filled out an affidavit of support when we applied for the fiance visa and gave us 2 copies back in Feb. Can we just use the second copy or should we have him do another one???
4. How much does the EAD cost and should we include that in the original money order or should we make out a seperate one?
Thanks for your help,
Matt & Jacque

My fiancee sent her packet 3 to the consulate in Rio on the 17th of Feb. I know they were closed for Carnaval last week, but how long should we expect to wait before we know when the interview will be???
Thanks,
Matt

just wanted to know where are you in the process???
we received an email last week that the embassy was mailing out pak 3

I was wondering the same thing (We filed Oct. 24th). My fiancee sent her packet 3 to the embassy on the 17th (the fri. before Carnaval) and we're still waiting for a response. How long does it usually take to get the interview date???

Obrigado,
Mateus

I just got this email from the Rio Consulate!!!
Dear Sir or Madam:
The state police certificates are required for every state that the person lived for at least 6 months for the last 5 years.
Regards,
IV Unit
That's good news for me too. Let us know how the interview goes.

Thanks so much for the help!!!

Peraí, você é o USC? Porque se for, continua tudo igual.

Obrigado,
Mateus

That touch turned into an approval pretty quick. I saw the touch at school and when I got home there were 3 emails in my box.
Thanks to everyone on this site for the help. The whole process would have been a lot more stressful and complicated otherwise.
On to NVC!!!

After over 2 months of looking on a daily basis, that little date on the USCIS website finally changed to 01/18/07!!! Hopefully we'll see a few emails within the next few days...

7 from CSC since Xmas??? Thats about 1 for every 2 days they've worked. There has been a definite slow down and it is pretty ridiculous... really.
well, it's NORMAL for businesses to slow down at Xmas, geez peoples. There was Xmas, New Year's Day, Ford's funeral & today. Patience!!! We IMBRA folks had over a month with no approvals.
VJ is only a tiny fraction of all petitions out there, as well.
I haven't seen a slowdown on the part of USCIS processing AOS applications.
Well, at the risk of being one of "those people" who constantly complains in their posts, here goes...
Christmas and New Year's were over 2 weeks ago. I think everybody expected a slow down over those couple of weeks. Ford's funeral and MLK Day were one day during the week which means the number of approvals should perhaps be slightly lower, not ground to a halt. Anyway, enough ranting. I'm still optimistic that most of the Oct. filers (including myself) will see an approval withing the next few weeks.

7 at CSC since Xmas, possibly 8 if one has a typo. Not bad, really.
13 at VSC.
Patience is a virtue when dealing with the USCIS. CSC applications ALWAYS take longer, it's the way it is.

I'm a student and don't make enough to meet the requirements. My parents have agreed to be my co-sponsors. I have a couple questions:
1. Can my parents use their total combined income?
2. Since I don't meet the required income, should I still send bank statements, pay stubs, and a letter from my employer, or is this something my parents will need to do???
Thanks,
Matt

VSC sucks...
Just kidding, but I'm also pretty jealous. I try to remember that once my fiance is here, this long process will probably seem like a distant dream.

Thanks Gary. The list was a much needed boost. It feels good to see so many approvals from Oct. applicants.

Wow, I'm so FREAKIN' jealous. I'm happy for you... but pretty jealous...
Congrats,

Obrigado pelas respostas, viu?

Just keep in mind that not all touches mean something.
I know that's true, but to someone like me who has only been touched once since filing, it would feel pretty damn good to have it happen more often...
Come on CSC! Won't you reach out and touch me!?!?
What should we do???

My wife and I were married on the 15th of June and her I-94 expires on the 14th of Aug (it took WA state forever to send us our Marriage Certificate). She just realized she doesn't have a Birth Certificate with her here (Arizona) so she had her mom send one (Brazil). Should we wait until it arrives before sending the packet even though it would mean sending it after the 14th or should we just send it now and send the BC in when it gets here.
Thanks for your help,
Matt
